ITS GETTING CLOSER. FEW MINOR TWEAKS ON THE AXE POUCH AND SHE'LL BE GOLDEN
A strong neodynium magnet at the bottom or at the inside of the lower backside of the axe pouch might cancel out the axe handle play.

Being a carpenter and wearing a pouch all day i know the feeling of havin everything exactly where u need it and secure. Thats looks like a real beauty pouch buckin nice job helping them out get it sorted.

I applaud Weaver for using outside expertise in development and engineering. Far too often the engineering process is completed by people with minimal and even occasionally no real world experience in the given field.
I've used Weaver products for years in our equine facility so was already aware of their commitment to quality!
I have to say also that beyond product design Billy is an excellent choice as a spokesman (so I'd consider putting him on as a full time consultant) his enthusiasm is definitely infectious! I've worn the same rig for years that I designed from some of my left over tower harness bits and various pieces already in the market, but this has me itching to run out and purchase one of these as soon as their released.
So again Kudos to Weaver for paying attention and their continued commitment to extreme quality!! (Would add more exclamation points but at some point becomes redundant!!!)
And also to Billy for his assistance in development and his ever present ENTHUSIASM!!!!

...Beautiful high quality pouch by Weaver. Overall, very well thought out imo. I can see U will in all likelihood be modifying the upper axe opening on this pouch. I will try to find a link on this unit when I find the time. Excellent presentation Buckin' Billy Ray. Most enjoyable... I'm a bit surprised they are only now adding the cross breast strap. All my backpacks have this feature, simply put, it keeps the shoulder straps in place rather than sliding outwards...

That extra strap they added is called a chest strap. All backpacks have them for the very reason you mentioned. It keeps the shoulder straps closer to your neck rather than migrating to your outer shoulders.

Like a kid in a candy store. Way to go Weaver. Take like 3, 1 inch squares of leather and sew them into the top right of the axe pocket to act as a handle stop and the handle might stay straight up. Just a thought.

The top edge of my aluminum axe pouch is square and parallel to the bottom. My axe handle doesn't flop back and forth or left and right. This new Weaver pouch, while much better than the last, seems to be cut away at the top. That's unnecessary for access but I can see they might have thought that might help.

buckin, if you take that axe pouch and soak it in hot water then you can mold it to your axe. once shaped bake it in the oven on low heat to dry it. your axe will clip in like a gun holster. i do all my knifes that way

Maybe cut the bottom corners out from the wedge pouch so water can get out and the pouch is a little deeper and more secure as well.
Will it help keep the heel of the axe sat in the pouch if you put a magnet in the bottom inside on the wall of the pouch to keep the side of the blade held slightly?
I have seen magnets used in other pouches (the metal ones) and it did work to keep the axe from "rattling" around in the pouch.
