What a fantastic demo of this pedal Mark! I got mine during the pre-order but I love when you do a demo that makes me even MORE excited about gear that I already own. Love the channel! ❤
I have a ton of ODs and the Browne Carbon is just one of my favorite low gain tones. Just adds such a lovely touch of upper chime, while slightly pushing mids and a touch of bass to my core tone that I just never turn it off. Stacks so well with everything it is one of the very few drive pedals that I can genuinely keep “always on”.
Dude. Your a great writer. Your productions are killer too my man!!! Wish you were close to Maryland and looking for a co-writer! Your tone choices are perfect for the moods of your compositions!!! Strong work brother!!!
Mark you gotta check out Ben Wasser Guitarworks. One of these with his ThroBak loaded guitars would be so insane. Hell I’ll send you mine just to see what you come up with.
The first stage is another take on the circuit, it was something that DRH wanted when stacking, so him and Dave kept working on it until they stopped with this, so Mark is correct, its not the V1, its another version altogether
@@BrowneAmplificationR side of CarbonX has different clipping, more gain and slight eq change from a OG BB The V1 and V2 are identical except the high cut switch

I have been waiting for this demo myself!!

Killer intro and Content !
Mark writes great riffs.
I think you have it backwards, my friend. The left side on the Protein is the BB side, and the right side is the green Nobels side.
he does, but we forgive him.
@ love you guys! I have a Protein, a Carbon v1, and a CarbonX! All are fantastic!
Carbon X is my go to everything drive right now. Trying to justify other overdrives on my board is getting difficult 😂
The right side is glorious
glad you love it!!
What is that gold strat? looks so cool with the lighting!
Lincoln Brewster Signature Strat. IMO one of the two coolest strats fender has ever made and in my mind the BEST one.
Love it! How do you feel about just the carbon? I’m thinking of pairing that one with the Aspen Overdrive by Case Study
Worded this wrong, how do you think the pairing of those 2pedals would go?
@@chuyys12 You cant go wrong... I might be biased...

so is the carbon X basically a carbon v1 (no hi-cut) running into a carbon v2 (with hi-cut)?
The first stage isn’t just the V1. It’s modified to be closer to the OG blues breaker, not the OG carbon
@@markjohnstonofficial thank you for clarifying!
