This was so helpful! I've only ever designed squarespace sites and recently began to think about offering larger clients the option of shopify or squarespace, although I'd have a ton of learning to do first this at least lets me know the two aren't that different as far as the drag and drop goes. Glad the video was helpful Jennifer and we love working with the Shopify platform! It is kinda similar though to setting up a Squarespace site so you will start seeing some crossover elements if you decide to also start designing for Shopify.

I absolutely love your content and have learned so much already! Soooo I have a question .. The mobile layout of my theme (Minimal) doesnt look right everything is all over the place :( I have tried everything ... Do you have a video that covers this ? Wow, so much easier than what I was just doing in reality. Hats the one negative with Shopify so far is that there is very little by way of guidance on the website when setting up. I selected a free template and my set up does not look anything like what she just showed. I may just try it using the Debut theme instead. Thanks a bunch!
Glad that you found the tutorial helpful and yes you are correct that every Shopify theme is very different in it's explanation of how to edit it. You can always also look at the theme creator's website to see if they have any documentation there as well.

Firstly, thank you for the detailed and easy to understand tutorial. Some of us need that. LOL Now, for my question. This theme doesn't tell one, the dimensions of the image, and since you already had one to upload, we are kind of left in the dark as to the size of the image. I like to make my own, and if I have the width and length pixels, I can make one.
Hi thebizlady, every theme will have different sizes but the key to remember when creating images for the slideshow is to get them all the exact same size so the slideshow doesn't bounce around a lot. However in the Debut theme I'm using in this tutorial the image size for the slideshow is 1280px x 427px.
Thank you for the dimensions.. I was using Brooklyn Theme, but there isn't any info about how what the dimensions of the slideshow should be, and I couldn't find that info, so I switched to the Debut theme, because of your tutorial. I wanted to create a slider because I couldn't find one that was great, for my Shopify store.
How did you manage to get the images, on that slider, where they are all balanced and also not being cut off, on either side of the slider?..

If the Shopify Store will be a clothing line and apparel would you recommend spending the money on the a Theme? I'm moving it over from Clickfunnels and just want to make it easier on myself and faster change over.
Also I just tested under the debut a Image Slider image that is 1200 x 400 and it looks great in desktop but the sides are chopped of in mobile. Is this a theme issue or a size issue?

Hello. Im trying Spotify over squarespace for the first time. When I click customize, there are no SECTIONS and GENERAL SETTINGS tabs. Just a list of items: Welcome, Blog, Site Options, Popup, Checkout, etc. Really having trouble finding a place to manage the sections of the template. Did they upgrade the user interface and its somewhere else than shown on this video?? Your video is very helpful, but the CMS doesn't look like that on my end! Help!

Hi Sogo glad to hear you liked the video. You can edit your code on the Debut theme as well as any of the free or paid Shopify themes. The Debut theme has a lot of it's items listed under the Sections and Snippets area more nested away. Be careful editing your theme code though and always make a duplicate theme before you make changes :)

How can I do it on my mobile phone?
I want to edit my homepage coz it seems I made a lot of mistakes and i would like to try it all over again from the beginning but I dont know how to edit what I had published. If I start again from the beginning or try another theme...whats gonna happen to all the products that i imported from the supplier. Can you give me an advise on this matter.

Hello! I have some problems related to the collection images. I cannot seem to find a way to set different banner images for each of me 3 collections. Somehow i can't find an option in the command panel to select a different picture for the banner for each theme. In the collection panel i only have a slider option so on all my collections i have the same slider image. I want 3 collections with 3 different banner images. I think my theme is missing the option for "collection banner image". Do you have any idea how i could solve this? Many thanks!
Hi Georgiana! What theme are you using? Do you have the collection image set in the individual collections on your site because the theme may also be pulling the images in from there?
Can you add to a theme / make your own theme? Something like stripes lets say, or curved lines. Would that be possible?
Yes this is possible. Are you wanting to add the stripes/curved lines as a background element on the site or where are you wanting it to show up?

Yes if you want it to show up in a slideshow that would be the background of the image.
Thanks for the explanation. I would look for a background element you like that is repeating. A great site is www.toptal.com/designers/subtlepatterns/ and you can download it from there and upload it to your theme's "Customize" area if they give you the options to add in a background element.

Im trying to figure out for 2 days now how you change the size of the slideshow can anyone explain how to make this smaller?
What size should the logo be? Everytime I add the logo, the header space increases a loooot.. which isn't appealing..
It really depends on your theme for the logo size but I would say an average logo size for the top of your site would be 250px wide by 100px tall. If you have a square logo it can really mess up your spacing though because it is much taller than the rest of the navigation.
Curious Themes - Shopify Experts I resolved it with support from Shopify! Indeed my logo was a square and that made it difficult - very big header space which didn't look appealing

Hi, can anyone here help me out real quick pls... I am so new to this dropshipping strategy and my problem right now with dropshipping is What Should I do after customer purchased my products but the money that they spent wasn't transferring to my account right away, instead I have to wait for the Shopify payout date in the next 5-days ....? Until that then the customer who bought that product thru me will be like....30days waiting time. Please helps :(
Yes this is a tough dilemma because it does take 3-5 business days for the money from Shopify to be in your bank account. So this can delay order fulfillment. I recommend having some money available in your account to fulfill orders while you are waiting on your payout from Shopify but that is completely up to you.
Are there any easy and free slide builders in the market ?
There are different sliders that are in the Shopify app store (apps.shopify.com/search/query?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=slideshow) but I find that the best option is to actually find a theme that you like that has a slideshow in it already.
