He recommended his friend lean back away from the screen so that the immersion isn’t too real, and to pause the game whenever he needed to. So IF you ever play subnautica, then maybe keep these tips in mind.

Yeah…you wouldn’t last 5 minutes in subnautica…especially outside of the Safe Shallows, and if you go into a deeper area, either go to the bottom as quickly as possible, or don’t look down
Though I don’t have thalassaphobia (honestly I find deep underwater soothing in a curiosity way) I do have one experience where I probably got the closest I could to having what thalassaphobia feels like cause I was surface diving in the deep ocean, and no matter how much it wasn’t a fear of mine there’s something deeply terrifying when looking into the abyss.
i'd probably have the same reactions as kab on the second and third levels cause of my fear of the dark and having the levels get progressively darker. shit looks traumatizing

Some people have a very high fear of something. For me when i play games in you have to high on building my hight fear triggers. I have to tell my brain its not real it just a video game
Your brain existed before computers and while you, as an educated creature, can tell the difference between a digital ocean and a real one, to the instinctive parts of the brain that react to danger, it doesn't really matter. It just sees the danger and reacts to it.

I played ark for a few years. Worked as exposure therapy, not as scared of the deep waters now. Just need to never look at _real-life_ depths and Ill be ok. XD

Maybe spawn in some of the stuff you’d get in skyblock too. Like, a lava bucket, a sapling, some dirt, maybe some moss.
Get a big group, most of which don’t know much about any of the mods, and let chaos ensue for a stream or a few.
If you have Thalassophobia this mod would be 1 of your worst nightmares

its funny because, as someone who does not have thalassophobia and loves the ocean, subnautica is absolutely horrifying without knowing where the leviathans spawn, you should play it
