Thank you, that was helpful. Thought I had a lawn fungus disease now I'm very sure that I do.

Thanks so much for taking the time to create this video, it was really helpful. I've been trying to figure out if I have a fungus and this video gave me a few insights I hadn't come across before.

Thanks for teaching about fungus on lawn. How do I tell if the fungus on my lawn is good fungus or bad fungus? It is on the surface after overseed and extra watering for germination. How do I tell if it is the good mycorrhiza type since I have been trying to inoculate with the strains of mycorrhiza. Should I still use a fungicide? Can I send a photo please? thank you.

Thank you for your question. Yes please send the photo. Do you have warm-season turf or cool-season turf?

If you are working to prevent fungus, put down a broad-spectrum fungicide such as Disease-X by Scott's or BioAdvanced Fungus Control. If you see additional signs of fungus developing after the preventative, it may be brown patch/summer patch, in which case you could add in F-Stop. Thanks for watching!

Is there anyway to tell between fungus and urine from passing animals? I have this issue on my front lawn and a specific area. It does not really spread but it is a significant area. Is that one way to know.

Thanks for your question! Yes, fungus will spread. If the issue is contained in the same spot, it is either an irrigation issue or the ammonia in the urine. One quick way to tell is to smell the lawn. You will know in a hurry if it’s the animals. If it is animals you can try a urine and odor neutralizer. (K9 Corrector or Sunday Pet Patch:
