Definitely love to see a 928!
Second!
another 928 vote here 👍
There were *928* upvotes when I watched, until I spoiled it
1 more for a 928!
Absolutely too!
The 928 and 968.. please.. Great video as always. You rock!
Thanks 👍😎
Definitely 928 my all time favorite.
Love to see the 928 - the prettiest Porsche ever
I want that one. 🎉
A 964 with a Plaid pack please 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
The day after I ever win any real money, I’m at your door boys!
You know you just teased an electric Countach series, right? 🤩 Yes, I am old enough to have had the poster.
I’d love to see that series too. 😆😉👍
Seem to remember a Prova Countach sat on the shelf at some point...🫣
"This was my exact car. Can't wait to see this build. I'm a little older now, around 80, but back in my day, this was a real chick magnet. What a beautiful car it was. I also had the whale tail."
A 550 Spyder Replica would be quite the interesting EV conversion
Technically the heater air on a 911 is passed not over the cylinders but over the headers and from the casing that surround the headers then fed into the heater tunnels into the cab. :) Definitely following with build!
I follow a lot of You Tube channels that electrify classic cars. However, I must say that none of them put the care that you do in the finished product. All of their solutions look like amateurs, when compared to the work you do. Congratulations! I'm always attracted to excellence in any field.
Thanks for your kind words 👍👍😀
Thanks. 👍👍👍
I am definitely not into Porsche 911 but I like the videos on this channel very much, this included.
I am looking forward to watch the continuation of Jensen Interceptor story.
On the Porsche side I would never convert a 911 but buy a preowned Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo.
If I had to choose I would like to have a Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo electrified.
Jensen episode coming soon 👍😀
It would be nice to see some French cars in your workshop someday. Electric DS are really nice and futuristic imo, and I don't know if somebody would put the money for it, but making an electric 205 GTI or R5 Alpine would be rad as well. In the UK you can really give it performance, where as in France we are limited to give it the exact same power as it was before :( Keep the good work !
So electric classic conversions in France would be limited to (in most cases) under 100PS? That's rough!
Hi Moggy, love your Mog in a Box presentations. For me I would like to see a 928 converted. Always thought they were a fantastic GT Tourer. 👍🏴😎
*My wife and I LOVE this show!!!*
I don't care what you convert as long as we get to see it.
Keep up the great work.
Thanks. Glad you enjoy it 👍😀
Thanks! Will do!
These videos are great. The engineering is fascinating. Looking forward to seeing this car through the build process. Cheers, Richard.
I'm with you, I'd like to see a 928 converted....
Love the 80’s 911, I’d always promised myself back then to get one some day, then I got in to motorcycles 😄
Blimy, that engine and box is heavy!
Yep. Surprised me too.
@@ElectricClassicCars heavier than my 4.6V8 and Tremec T5!
Lucky me, mine would be the exact 911 you're working on! Wish I could afford to buy one let alone convert it
Can't wait to see more of this beautiful Porsche 911! Looks great! I'm like a broken record, I would love to see a 1970s Ford Capri converted by you guys.
You never know 👍👍😀
Would be really happy to see more of the Porsche 356 conversion.
Coming soon 👍👍
Amazing project!
Thats exactly the one I wanted to see, the legendary G-Model.
Thank You for All that you are doing for our Planet Earth.... Peace.. Shalom.. Salam.. Namaste 🙏🏻 😊 🌈 ✌ ☮ ❤
Still waiting of the Mustang conversion - but 911 also very interesting. Looking forward to the next episodes.
Id love to see a Boxster project built around the Model 3 rear drive unit!!!
Or a Cayman?
Eeeevvveen better!!
I don’t know what it is about the profile of a 912 but it gets me every time. Practically speaking here in California, 914, 944, 924 are pretty easy to come by. Mind you some of them are beyond roached but they are dying for a 2nd or 3rd act.
I used to see 914s on the roads here in the UK as a child, driven by US servicemen. There were a lot of bases round here, you see.
I like the wing on the back of that 356 😉
A lot of guys have the 996/997's that are sometimes afflicted with IMS issues or bore scoring, which can occasionally crater the engines. I think if that happened to me I would be quite interested in an electric conversion. It's that or go back with the same engine that broke your heart first time around. Fool me once....
After the Porsche 917 from 1972, this is my second most favourite Porsche
I can only dream of a genuine 904..... simply box all the factory bits 'n bobs for someone in the future. The originality remains!
I’m still a huge fan of the 912! Lighter weight, shorter wheelbase, skinnier tires for more fun at slower speeds, simpler interior have me preferring it over the later cars for EV. More open greenhouse and superior suspension make it better than the 356. Yep, the 912’s the one, because you’re not even losing the glorious sound of the flat-six. Win, win, win!
You’re doing the conversation I’d most like to see. 88’ 911! My dream car. Can’t wait to see it all come together.
Ahhhh lovely!!!! Yeah can’t wait to get all the parts and install all the high quality ECC bits n pieces into the blue 930!! Will be mimicking you just behind, going to be fun doing our Porsche a few weeks after yours…….will be like echo echo 😂
Can't wait!
My favorite Porsche is the 968. In my opinion the ultimate evolution of the 944. Hard to find, but would love to see one of those converted.
That's my dream conversion :) Maybe a 959 though ;)
Let's see the 996!
A 986 boxster!! I love my 98 986😎😎
My 2 choices; ECC meets RWB and Singer ECC
Singer would be so incredible
Love to see a 356 and 928 conversion!
Any other Porsche than a 911!!!!
Love a nice Porsche. Excited for the new series. 👍
Would love to see a 911 Safari!
I drove the 1982 911 S. It belonged to one of my childhood classmate's father and he kept it mint at least until 1998, as the last time I saw it. It was amazing!!! I wonder how it would feel now if converted to electric. the stability and torque were excellent at the time.
I would like to do a Cayman. As 912's going for silly money. Enough modern Cayman around with motor damage 😅
The electric super car channel is doing a cayman gt-E dual tesla swapped awd conversion on here. 👍🏻😎
I would love to do this type of conversion to my 2008 Honda Civic.
I had a '76 Civic wagon. I would love to see a Civic done too.
A 997.2 turbo with the fastest Tesla motor would be interesting, keeping the 4WD too. Wonder if a 3 second launch to 60 would still be achievable? Great video, thank you.
The Swedish king was first pictured with the future queen in a Porsche 911 in 1973, I was hoping someone would have converted a similar 911 last year and given it to him as a gift on the anniversary (he's also celebrated 50 years on the throne last year). Maybe in 2026 when it is 50 years since the wedding... Get on it, someone out there!
That would be cool. 😎👍
I would love a conversion on an everyday car like a Subaru Forester used for touring and a price that Joe Soap could afford.
An old Rolls Royce would be a nice project ...
A 1990's Targa would be my choice. Or that one but in yellow :P
I would love to see that 956, especially if you ship one to the US....
In a previous episode, you walked us through many of the regulation and compliance hurdles that one must negotiate to convert a car like this to an EV. Is there anything preventing someone from doing a conversion on a 911 like this and making it an all-wheel drive EV? I was just thinking how cool it would be to have an all-wheel drive rocket ship like this.
Depends where you live in the uk you might have to deal with a SVA type test single vehicle approval .
Never been a Porsche fan though i do like the Front V8 model.
How many Matra Bagheras are left in the UK ?
I prefer the mark 1 and 2 body forms to the later more angular 3s and with the original motor being transversely mounted and a small 4 cylinder sitting right behind your back in the car 🥵electric has to be a lot beter way to go..
It also allows for a more interesting social life .. 😂... as long as your seat is sports car sized. 3 abreast for those who dont know the the French disney Black 🖤 cat.
Is there still space for a spare wheel ...even a skinny? Current crop of pot holes are taking out rims as well low prof. tyres.🤔🧙♂️
BRILLIANT
How to improve a great car!
I have a 928 gts myself and schould like too see this car converted into electric.😊
Nice car. 😎👌
All of the good (and bad) options have already been spoken for, so my suggestion to convert to BEV would be the 918 Spyder. 😂
Do you have a link to the other channel you mentioned at 9:30 or so?
928. I’ve been waiting on a whaletail for a long time, specifically this year. I’d also like to see a late 60s early 70s Fiat 850 Spyder. I rebuilt two when I was a teenager. Fantastic builds, guys!!
917 of course! Otherwise a 1998 GT1 - yes, with the unpopular headlights
Awesome!! 😍😍😍
There's an Ozzie doing a 928 conversion at the moment using an MG as a donor, has a channel. Can't see it being a thorough conversion like one of yours.
That was my favorite style Porsche, I'll be following this series with great interest ! Just out of curiosity, would it be easy enough while doing an electric conversion to also convert to 4WD or AWD from a 2WD setup ?
You would still need to comply with the regs featured in our previous episode. 👍😀
@@spudproductions7606So an extra axel or motor would need to bolt onto original mounting locations and no cutting away chassis parts etc. It's very interesting all these electric conversion conundrums !
I owned a 924: its engine was way too noisy for long-distance driving. A quiet electric conversion would be ideal.
As it wasn`t a Porsche engine and not very rare I agree. I would think the transaxle layout would lend itself to such a conversion...
dream EV😮
I watched a video about a 928 "wide body" the other day. Never heard of those before, but apparently the one we saw is 8ft wide!!!!! So plenty of room for batteries! Then, after the conversion, the owner can find all the 6'6" width restricted local roads!
Porsche did a wider 928, the GTS, had a bigger motor too, 5.3 as opposed to the 928 GT and S4 that had a 5 litre, they're pretty mean looking, eats continents for breakfast.
I'd sell body parts to fund a good one, definitely a manual though, I don't like slushboxes.
@@MrNatbattenI just realized it's 8ft 7ins, even though the video mentions 8ft.
8ft 7 is all probably undriveable on UK roads, I'll give it a serve thanks, lol.@@wordreet
@@MrNatbatten Oh heck! 7ft 8ins, not 8ft 7ins!! Still seriously wide though. Even a Luton van is only 6ft 6ins!
Love your builds 😊 please link to your Scandinavian partner you mentioned in this video. Best regards, Henrik 🇩🇰
I'm still waiting for a ghost.. to be electrified.. you can do it!!
As the 996 gets bad press for IMS or bore scoring or being water cooled or GT1 headlights, they are more affordable. How about a 996 911 electric conversion?
A full electric 919 would be amazing!
I have in mind to get e 928 GTS, and this would be a great fit for an Electric I believe
American here. I've owned 2 Fusions, "13 & '16. The latter is an energi. I would like to see a Mondeo wagon conversion. Unfortunately, they never gave the US market a wagon.
any wide body air cooled 911 would be my pick.
Excited to see more of this build. Really love a 356 and yes, to a 928! Are you going to show any more of the Aston Martin Volante you showed a while back? Love that car too
The AM is at the restoration shop. We hope to have it back in the summer sometime. 👍
I always remember a 911 with this very body style being used to advertise, of all things, Braun electric shavers! But where do all the Tesla motors come from?
The 944 would be my first choice for electric conversions. The weight distribution is already very good, and everyone I know who has one has blown an engine. I would consider owning a 944 EV.
Cheers guys
928 would be good. However, still waiting for the update on the Jensen.
Hi Richard, a 928, definitely. With all of the builds it would also be interesting to see if a spare wheel could be included. A space saver spare? Not possible sometimes I know, but it’s a concession to EVs not necessarily afforded to ICE, either now or in the past. Buyers still expect it, although cans of goo do get you moving in most cases. 😊
986 Boxster would be cool. Cheap as chips in the UK from what I've seen, and the kit should be nearly identical for the 987 Boxster and Cayman.
959 with a plaid conversion!
Hope you will do a Countach ❤
Love to see a 928 and a Datsun 240/260/280 Z conversions.
I wouldn’t mind seeing a Macan conversion. See if you can do it better than Porsche seeing as they’re about to release a factory EV Macan. Personally I’d like a Hyper 9 in my ancient Talbot Autosleeper motor home retaining the original gearbox. It would be far too expensive for my meagre budget but I’d like to see something similar done!
I suppose a 935 is out of the running, would be an interesting comparison though
+1 on the 928, but á 924 would also be great.
A 944 would be nice
I'd like to see you do a 964!
Looking forward to seeing the rest of this build however.
As always, the dreaded question, can you tell us what this conversion will be costing?
Also, Im curious what you do with the the engine, fuel tank, etc when you taken them out. Do you stop them? If so, at what cost? Thanks.
Would like to see what can be done with a Cayman, retaining handling dynamics.
Going from air cooled, to liquid cooled...🙄🤣
Guessing theres no room in the cabin, for an electric AC/heater unit?
Smaller drive unit?, the 80's was about excess!! 😂
Be a nice build 👌
What about a 1985 mercedes diesel wagon conversion?
While everything is out will you folks go through and clean everything down to bare
metal or start where it is?
I'd love to hear what you're doing with that Lotus! 3:12
When I was researching Spanish conversion rules, it says the high voltage cabling cannot "enter the passenger cabin". I would think running them through the shifter linkage tunnel is technically inside the passenger cabin, even though they're inside a metal tube. Is your design compliant with UK regs? Thanks!
The 928 is ripe for conversion IMO, with a really big motor.
Like a 5.3 V8 32V maybe?
@@MrNatbattenNo of course.
I think the 911 makes a great base for an EV conversion, it's just a shame it's a G50 car and not an earlier 915 one. The G50 with the 3.2 is a rather lovely combination. Still, if it's going to be done it good the best in the business are doing it.
I’d like to see a 996 cabrio converted.
Would love to see a 111 tractor conversion
Audi R8 would be cool 😎
How about a 996? The engines in those are rubbish (I had one) so going electric would be a massive improvement. I also had an 87 911 just like the one in this build. I regret selling it.
