- Rallies are being held across France to protest against the far right. The demonstrations come ahead of snap parliamentary elections later this month, called by President Emmanuel Macron. Anti-racism groups joined French unions to march through the streets of Paris. They fear Marine Le Pen's National Rally party could lead the first far-right government since the Second World War.

Left leaning is a lot different than far left. I’m left leaning, moderate, agree with some conservative view points but I can’t stand the far left progressive agenda. The far left and far right keep pushing the outer limits of politics and there is less and less middle ground anymore.
What are they protesting against; democracy? What happened in France couple of days ago, is the result of a free and fair democratic process. So what exactly is their problem with that?

I love how far right is everyone who is not far left. God forbid people want to preserve the cultural identity of their country that’s being flooded with people who have mostly come for the economic opportunities but have no plans of integrating into the society and upholding the values and standards that have made the country the place they want to move to. If you bring the mentality of the failing place you came from, eventually the same fate will follow the place you moved to. Being against that is apparently far right. I say all this as an immigrant who followed the legal channels and integrated into society as a productive member and not a drain on resources.

I low-key think polls serve two functions. One aspect is the raw data and the other is designed to mobilize the low-polling entities. Look at polling on an international scale, it has always energized the floundering parties.
Think about it, if your party wins an election. You're done, you walk away from politics until the next cycle. So polling helps remind people to stay engaged because the "bad guys" are not sleeping.
I consider it a smart move... Macron clearly said to his people: you want to sow wind? Okay, then I will let you harvest a storm. If this is what you want, go for it. I will not hinder you
