I'll have a follow-up video with some more gameplay - I actually had three equally-good (in terms of showing what the ship can do) battles recorded, so I'll use the other two for a fun compilation
The tech tree one is better for me. Because I have Sergei Gorshkov that can add one more radar. PS: Sir, can you review Riga? I can not find anyone reviewing (not the gameplay, but actual review) it. Some said it is bad but I had to play it to get Petro. How is it fare compared to other Russian heavy cruisers of tier IX?
I found that Talinn and Riga were decent ships only if you had a commander with APCS. I was able to move that high level commander along that line when I did the Petro grind.
@@daruma56563 I didn’t mind Riga. I did use the biggest XP boosters I could and used free xp to limit the amount of battles I needed to play to unlock Petro. I probably only played 20 games in Riga. I actually enjoyed the ship but was very impatient to get past it since Petro is so good.
@ I just was able to check my stats on Riga. I played 20 games with a 55% win rate and averaged 54k in it. To compare, I’m about the same win rate on Petro but my avg damage is 74k. So up to you if you want to spend the resources on Riga. I did enjoy playing it but I’m not a cruiser player, I normally play BB’s. Petro is so worth it though. Such a good ship.
The worthy-to-buy black premiums are always the ones that change the playstyle, like unique upgrades, I guess like Black Republique and Blk. Vladivostok, they’re unique and actually are different than the tech tree, or else you’re just wasting money for a tech tree ship with like, a RR instead of a PA
I remember Black New Mexico, or was it Black Bayern, which really became different, but personally, I usually don't bother with black ships. Which also means that I normally don't know what they're capable of when facing them, which can make for a bit of a surprise :)
I disagree Terry. I would say the black version in this case is slightly better. The three rr beats one radar and two pa for this ship. It’s a flamethrower and it is accurate it is best used mostly kiting at range which makes the rr better at farming perma fires. PA is not really needed because it is accurate. One radar when playing the ship in its role is not particularly useful. Even if something smokes up the guns are quick and accurate enough to fire at gun barrel flashes. As you noted she is not the best at maneuverability another hint the ship is not meant to be played at ranges where you need radar.
why didn't WG change defAA to sonar as a fair trade for the lack of radar? I'm now enjoying playing ships with many utilities that are useful for my team, so my decision is not to trade 15 steel and 5 titanium for this
Honestly, I do see this as a bit of downgrade from the original, the loss of the radar really hurts (at least in my opinion) And honestly, there are not many BLK ships I pick up, but when I do, they are usually fun (unless its BLK Kamikaze, just for owning both Kamikaze’s)
Thank you!
Please keep doing this series going forward
Really helpful for us trying to buy shipyard boats
I saw you in this ship on your press account while grinding the American battleship line
My favorite long range HE spammer!
I knew it!!!! That this ship would come out in a reveiw
Terry's gameplay, which is the only cool thing in Black Chapayev, is fun, but I'm watching it well as a subscriber

@TheSoulfire73I had Makarov in my Tallin. And now I can buy Riga but still have this hesitation wether to buy or skip.

@@TheSoulfire73 Thx for the insight. I'll buy it and try it myself.

@@FunandGameswithTerry can you do a review on Black Bismarck? It’s different from the TT version enough that I think it’s worth a review😅.
How about a tech tree wrap up and do the French tier9 Saint-Louis review.😊

I was on the opposing team when you were testing this ship in a pan American cruiser and tried to brawl you 😅 it didn't go well for me
Oh, that was you in the Allende? I'm still going to feature that round in a follow-up compilation :)
Yes ETID is my game name. I had to at least try to sink Terry the great 😅
