First of all, your music sounds awesome. Very ethereal and atmospheric. You may have gotten used to what your music sounds like and therefore are having a hard time appreciating it as much as a first time listener, but for someone hearing it for the first time, it sounds great. Now in terms of feeling like it's lacking movement, flow, and structure, consider adding some high end melodies that do not follow a consistent rhythm or pattern. Think of your melody as actual lyrics in a song, and how you'd want those lyrics to have personality and variety, so when you hum those lyrics back into your top line melody, they are distinct. Sometimes changing sounds can achieve a similar result, but in my experience, you will end up with the same problems you had before. Furthermore, perhaps practice other genres for a while. Even if lo-fi is the end goal, you can extract a lot of inspiration through listening to other genres completely, and trying to play around with elements from them that you wouldn't normally find in lo-fi. Watching movies with great, memorable soundtracks is one way that I do this. Keep up the good work! You're not doing anything wrong and your music is excellent, it just sounds like you have perfected the style you've been working with and are now in need of something new that will re-inspire the work you're already doing!
6:32 The melody here itself is just too good, I am telling you dude, you are literally my sensei. I learnt how to make these lofi beats from you. You are great cloophie!
I relate to this quite a bit! Listening from an outside perspective, I think it sounds really lush and soothing and that's great! When I first started working on Lofi music I would watch all your videos especially your tutorial videos and find myself coming back to them whenever I feel like I'm stuck. Keep up the great work! I look forward to seeing what you put out
Was recently in a rut too and it can be tough. Giving yourself fun constraints when creating and not worrying about the outcome can really help. I hope things get better soon man
7:05 ive had similar problems and what ive found is that the small things are what makes the song flow. Add specific things that create "moments" in your beats. it could be a chord change/bridge, introduction of new sounds, effect from a plugin, etc. Dont limit yourself either, theres no right way to be creative, just try it for fun even if u dont feel like it will turn it good. its still practice! i would also experiment and listen to different genres to expand skills and creativity.
Don’t worry bro ! Just stay grateful (not saying you are not !) .Your music worth and i appreciate your legacy and the work you put in ! You r grate dudeski ! 🍀 🫡
Had the same feelings in the end of 2023. I really wanted to make my music sound unique but everything I made seemed boring and not for my style. I came to a conclusion that I hate everything I make and it was one of the hardest periods of my music life. It's been 4 months now and after a lot of trying and experimenting I found out that the easiest and the most effective way to make your music sound unique is to simply add vocals. Because nobody has the same voice as you and nobody can convey the same feelings through lyrics as you. I also found out that by making music with someone you will always love the result. I saw that on one hand I hate everything I make myself but on the other I love most of the stuff that I do with help of others. I also found out that It's very hard for me to make something without concept. Usually, before I start making melody I try to create a short story with a character, and after I do that the process becomes much easier. These are 3 ways that really helped me to overcome the music stagnation. These moments when you have no idea how to make something that you are happy with always result in evolution of your own sound. I hope that you'll overcome this soon. Maybe you should take a break from music. It always helps
@@Cloophie dont be too harsh on yourself dude, your sound and the ways you use it are always diverse , just look at it like you look at how you can eat chicken 😭
Lmao bloons is the best and I’ve been feeling in a rut too with music stuff :) imma try to ignore it now & just create cause it’s ruined my enjoyment a bit lately
Writers block is real, scary feeling but everytime i've had it... eventually I'll bounce back out of nowhere and be writing some of my best music. Just gotta keep writing :)
@@cjshrimpy7191 cheers :) I agree that it’s sorta real, but I feel like there’s a ton of ways to break out of it so it’s almost not really a thing,, I feel like mental stuff can definitely get in the way tho.. but maybe that’s what writers block is & idk what’s goin on 😂
This is such a mood. I've only made a few songs but I already feel a little stuck. I'm saving up money to buy a mic so I can try experimenting with vocals in my music and spice things up.
THIS IS MY PROBLEM bro ! Exactly the same thing... I think the problem that We need to feel some catchy mekody and make whole music structure to support and intense this melody... But Idk if be honest 😅 And Yeah I loved this type of lifestyle videos) you can feel yourself free to make vlogs as u used to 😅 and Man, you should do Study with me video with lofi music phphhphpp ❤
You could try to make some other genres of music to get new inspiration and to make songs without the process you have developed for making lo-fi. You could also bring some elements from the other genres back to your lo-fi songs to make your songs stand out more. Great video! Keep it up!
Yeah, his geniusly concept with the Drop on lo-fi at his "Blue Fantasy" album's main track was really something new for me. I won't say that I've never met drops on lo-fi, but his drop style was something really Innovative 😅 Blue Fantasy always in my heart ✨
You were always an inspiration for me ❤

12:45 Stop beating yourself up, you are concentrating to much on what everyone else is doing, don't change your style and it's not at all boring!
I knowwwww, its hard tho rip, thx for the kind words tho!
something that might get you out of your rut would be like maybe making a 2017 type rap beat loif sound. Like dry and dusty and warbly.
Honestly maybe yeah, might need a switchup
