Anne would be wonderful but is getting to the age where she will be slowing down soon. Edward might be controversial as he dropped out of the Marines. Sophie would be another choice.

Yes, I'd tend to agree with this comment. Catherine has all the qualities that make her worthy of the honour, but it could be seen as "a quick-fix" solution to who'd best handle THAT PARTICULAR "hot-potato". Whether guilty or innocent, Andrew really has landed the Royals in an unenviable situation. Queen Elizabeth and her Palace advisors are trying to make the best of things right now, so credit to ALL of the LESS high-profile Royals for being so dignified in support of (probably) the WORLD's most-beloved "old lady". That said, and given how Catherine has helped modernise Royal protocol, she may well prove to be the right person for this role in years to come.
But that's just my opinion of course.

Um, I have a question: How can Catherine takeover a military regiment when she doesn't have any military experience? Or would it just be an HONORARY role? If that is the case, the future QUEEN CONSORT would be an EXCELLENT FIT!! Go Kate!!

This is the problem with Honorary Roles, when you don't deserve it, when you don't earn it, when it is given to you, by your mommy, it can be taken away from you. Those red uniforms with rows of medals, sashes, resplendent and beautiful, don't mean a thing to the wearer. He probably needs a team of dressers to assist him to put it on. Reminds me of the rows of medals on the uniforms of those North Korean clowns.

Kate as much as she is beloved by all. is a wife to a royal. and a mother to a royal. And she knows her place well. I find her to be a very meek woman. Who has joined into a family way above her own status, and will do pretty much everything she is told to maintain her new status in life. She went to college met the Prince, and he kept her from then on. She is suave and calculating one could say. By never putting out any kind of statements, she gained the royals trust. She was given TEN years to learn how to be royal, her royal duties were NOT Thrust upon her as they were to Diana, or to Fergie. And to Meghan either. She was given loads of privacy while "learning" her place in things. when she was pregnant, she did not have much on her plate, indeed she was too sick to deal with the public, and was trotted out on as few occasions as possible. Meghan was in full view during her pregnancy, dealing with loads of negative press, while the darling Kate was given privacy and glowing reviews during her TEN years of settling into being a royal. Sophie was given loads of privacy as well during her early years of marriage. But Harry and Meghan were the "darlings of hatred" from the media two days after the wedding.
Don't you see how ridiculous this all is?? If Harry and Meghan were given ten years to settle and for her to learn the rules of royals, and given the same grace given to Kate during that time. Instead of pitting the brothers at war, and making up press releases about meghan and kate, and putting them in the Villain role, while putting Kate and Will into the Angel roles, things would be different for Harry and the entire family.
I don't believe for one minute the Halo around Kate's head. or the Halo on Williams head. They were both given loads and loads of privacy during their initial first years of marriage by the press. In which time, I am sure Kate was given loads of private etiquette lessons on how to be a royal.

Not that I know of. But even if she is, there are now therapies to get rid of allergies. I have allergies myself (thankfully not to horses as I'm obsessed with them) & hope to get the treatment myself in the future so that I can foster older cats while they're looking for homes. Currently, I'm dangerously allergic to cats.

A royal should have a military background to properly fill this role. The role should be offered perhaps to Harry in exchange for taking a more active role in the family.
Haz is a HAZ BEEN, known as BUNKER HARRY - should NOT be given this title! I'd prefer seeing Princess Royale or Prince Edward being awarded the Title. Even Anne's Son Peter or Zara but I will happily settle for Catherine IF TRUE.
