I'm only into fishing and safety.... And I've lost a lot of good friends, from fishing accidents... Diving and billfish hitting a guy in the chest .... Lost enough blood before the coastguard got to the boat.... But they tried to save him , but couldn't...
So listen to the things I tell you... I might be the only person trying to save a life ...

Caught a striped marlin, only like 120-130lbs in Cabo first time out there... That was a beautiful fish. It was a pleasure to catch and release that fish. Congrats!
Great job Vicky, and what an excellent birthday present to have such an adrenaline rush and it was good to see that it was released.. I know what it feels like because I caught blue marlin in Kona Hawaii.... Which is why I can tell you that was definitely not a 500 lb Marlin... I see you had a 50 lb class reel, whereas I was using 80 lb class in a fighting chair... You're 500 lb marlin looked the same size as my 132 lb 8 ft long blue marlin..lol.... They are beautiful to watch when they break the surface of the water, totally amazing fish and very strong for their weight... I had one charge the stern of the boat and broke off the tip of its bill off while it tried to kill me.. Captain wasn't too happy about the gouge in the back of his boat...lol

caught, but not landed. atlantic blue is listed with VULNERABLE conservation status. they're catch/release only, and are high in heavy metals like mercury. a shame she wasn't in HI. pacific blue (kajiki) are safe to eat and retail for abt $18/lb in 2021

Aren't most people fighting a 500 pound Marlin strapped in a fighting chair? How can she do this standing up? Great job though. This was awesome!
Most people think fishing is all about strength, when in fact it’s about technique and the gear you are using. This fish didn’t fight nearly as hard as he could have, he didn’t really realize he was hooked for the first 30 minutes.
