Yes I just googled what is amen break, it is in lots of songs or something and older then i think wow. I was about to write "it reminds me the bass line of the Renegades of Funk - RATM" its in everything
@@coffee_grounds amen break was literally everywhere back then at the era of DnB and a lot of other semi old genres. Even now it's still used for breakdancing (just the sample itself).
Surprisingly not the case for most people around where I live, most of them can’t play off beats like this lol. They can only stay on beat notes that follow the same beat as the hihat. So the snare fucks them up and they can’t keep it going lol
This vaguely reminds me of the game A Dance of Fire and Ice, with all rhythms being dictated by a group of rectangles pieces together, with a straight line being quarter notes and a 90 degree shape being an eight note
I don't know what the drum or snare or whatever is that is represented by the reversed L (third shape), but during the time they are all playing, it is also making a sound as the slider moves upwards. There's an extra sound there, and I don't think it would sound as good without it. So...minor dupe.
Drummer here; with most beats, I actually only feel like I'm keeping track of one thing at a time. Notice how the two tracks on the left (kick and snare) and the one on the right (hi-hat pedal) don't ever hit at the same time; that's because the drummer is thinking of them all as one thing. And then the third track from the left (hi-hat) is likely on autopilot. So this beat only requires one active train of thought. Great drummers can of course think of multiple things at the same time, which is always really impressive. But every drummer learns to group their hands and feet together in their brain to some degree, as well as the muscle memory of putting simple patterns on autopilot. That muscle memory and grouping is something beginners don't have, which is why this beat seems so dang hard to beginners, but is pretty easy to a practiced drummer.
Bruh I have been in summer school for geometry and I just finished, and seeing this literally gave me flash backs to all the countless hours of work. Thank you…

Keep in mind that drummers need to keep track of all 4 of these at once
