    Gene is one of a kind. He is literally the only fishing lessons TH-camr who is actually teaching and not trying to sell tackle. The "Googan Squad" should take notes from this Fishing Legend The Doesn't Ever Throw A FlukeMaster! Keep on showing us the way Gene! 🎣 🐟

    I've struggled to catch fish on Clarks Hill since moving here 2 years ago (only caught 2 total bass). Everywhere else I fish is no problem. Used the advice you gave here with the square bill (ripping it and pulling with the rod), caught 3 largemouths and a spot today. You're the man, Gene!

      Keep working the square bill. Once you spend several months on a square bill pick another lure you haven't developed skill in watch tutorials on the new lure then apply what you learn on say a spinner bait or whatever new lure you pick. When you decide how long you plan to fish let's say it's 2 hours. Spend 30 minutes on the squarebill then 30 minutes on the newest lure. Then fish lures you have confidence in to keep skill of those lures sharp. Say you fish from March to November on your days off. That's 9 months of practice on the newer lures. When you decide the time you have to fish, devide the time up equally on the new lures and lures you have confidence in. 😊 happy fishing, brother. Final though, anything new you can learn to apply to lures you already fish to further develop skill on lures you have confidence in and new lures use that and do so.

    Thanks again brother. I took a day off of work today to get some me time. Played around in Ruddock Louisiana. 20 minutes from my house. Did some cranking and caught a red breast sunfish. Swallowed the back treble hook. Fished a spook jr that walked great Made me look like I knew what I was doing lol but around 1:00 pm I went with the ole faithful Texas Rig with a tungsten 3/8 hitting the shade pockets on the bank. I landed 2 an missed 3. That says a lot for that area.

    Even as you work a bait or lure even if no grass gets caught occasionally pop rod tip anyways. This will give lure a darting action like it's scared an will help with strikes from fish in the area.

    Owner American short shank treble hooks will help even more with snags on cover. The bill helps but with short shank Owner American the stags on cover an structure will be even more minimal occurrence of getting caught.

    Man I've got a KVD square bill that's caught so many fish it's missing almost all its paint. I've tried replacing it, the fish just don't hit the new one the same. It's even missing piece of the back hook, hell I'm scared to replace the hook for fear of ruining the mojo! Sometimes I wonder why I ever take it off the rod.

    Generally I've noticed bigger fish an huge fish usually by fishing slower an pausing alittle longer usually catches tanks. The reason bass that got so big is because 2 reasons. One there very aware of conditions changing more so when oxygen an food supply drops. The second there's even a slight change they move. 2 the large bass don't utilize alot of energy to get food as stated there very more high in tune with transitions an food supply being part of the tradition an they move frequently the very second there's a change as stated. That's why they're so big being in tune to changes even more so with oxygen food an current which helps the factor of oxygen. These huge bass will always ensure the have the absolute I mean absolute best transitions with the best food oxygen an protection

    I have a question that hopefully you can answer. I hear you say chattercrank rod and when I look at my sqaurebill rod I feel like there's no way it has enough back bone to set the hook on a chatterbait. Is the chattercrank rod stiffer then a traditional cranking rod or is it a legit cranking rod and I'm just over thinking? Huge fan been watching since I got back into fishing 2016.

    • @Flukemaster
      @Flukemaster  ปีที่แล้ว

      The Chattercrank rod is stiffer than a regular MH Moderate rod but 13 Fishing is the only company that makes that rod of course, but a MH Moderate rod is the closest rod to it when you are looking at other brands of rods.
