But I the cleanliness and hygiene of today's trains are better than that of old time trains. Trains have become less prone to accidents now a days due to advancement in Technology.

      During late 1990s and early 2000s, apart from Rajdhanis and Shatabdis, I saw Rajdhani liveried WAP 1 loco only in Superfast trains like Jnaneshwari Superdelux and then in Swaraaj, whereas I saw Shatabdi liveried WCAM 2/2P/3 loco only in Superfast trains like Karnavati Superfast and then in Deccan Queen.
      Other mail/express trains used to get WAM4 or WCAM1 locos and WDM locos according to electrified or unelectrified section.
      Few passenger trains of very short distance used to
      get the WDS4 shunting loco as those trains routes were very small and unelectrified, those trains mainly operated in branch lines connecting the rural and remote areas having unelectrified route with very short distances like Anand Khambhat and Anand Vadtal.

My trips in August Kranti Rajdhani, Ahmedabad Shatabdi, A/c chair car to Baroda by Jhelum Express from Mumbai and surprisingly cc in Rajdhani Express from Mumbai to NewDelhi before August Kranti came are all now recorded by your videos. As every rail fan says in India, Mani Vijay Sir, you have removed the guilt in minds of 1000’s who didn’t record their travels not realising those days would never come. Thanks a million and may God Bless you.

    Those days AC travel was a real luxury. I still remember in 1992, I was only 5 and we were to travel from Jabalpur to Howrah in then Bombay mail. I was nagging my dad to get AC seats but obviously it was beyond his budget. When he came home with the cardboard tickets of sleeper class(yes even for long distance also they used to give small cardboard tickets) I had burst into tears and snatched one of the tickets from him and tore it apart. Golden days to remember... Rail fan since birth!!

    Lovely vintage collection. The deccan queen capture was fabulous. I still remember those WCM locos on the BBVT Pune route.
    And I remember the non-airconditioned first class bogies, what ee call FC today. Sadly these FC bogies have disappeared. I enjoyed traveling in FC. hope IR will reintroduce them again. thanks sir. Nostalgic of those lovely days

    A very nice railway atmosphere with dense traffic and an extreme variety of equipment! I have recognized in particular among many other locomotives WCM 1. They are old but I like them particularly. Unfortunately I do not find or few videos of these legendary locomotives. Of course the modern equipment has its charm obviously. India is really the country of the railways. Many thanks for these images from 1995: they are a precious document.

    Superb, i really felt pride about 1995 IR, fully infrastructure by that time of speeds and conditions , fully electrified lines, all electric locomotives , premium trains , neatly maintained trains, I didn't saw any single loco as Diesel really really fantastic, today sadly we have just in 15 months having 75 train accidents with no proper infrastructure with no proper signal traffic network. And my grand father who worked as Ticket collector (joined)1950- 1987(retired) died in 2001.

      I really have awesome memories of trains in 1990s and early 2000s.
      Jnaneshwari Superdelux having Rajdhani liveried coaches along with matching liveried SRC WAP 1 loco and Karnavati Superfast having Shatabdi liveried coaches along with matching liveried WCAM 2/2P loco were the memories I'm having till date during late 1990s and early 2000s. These were the best memories of trains.
      Also many memories of mail/express trains with maroon liveried coaches along with having matching liveried WAM4 loco in many places and the mail/express trains of western railway having maroon liveried coaches along with few cream-brown liveried coaches and red-Cream WCAM 1 loco with blue lines in Mumbai-Ahmedabad section are still memorable.

    Those RTM WDM2 twins hauling the Rajdhanis back then had a beautiful and unique livery! They are the only reason as to why I like watching ' The Burning Train ' again and again! (Although, in the film, they have only showcased one RTM WDM2 with an ICF Rajdhani rake going at an unrealistic speed of 100 miles/hour i.e 160 km/h!)

    • @ManiVijay
      @ManiVijay  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Same here! I love The Burning Train movie just to watch the Rajdhani in action. And I also wish they had shot the movie when twin-WDM2s were being used. Then we could have seen the awesomeness of twin-WDM2s hauling the Rajdhani at great speed.

    • @thetechnocrat4979
      @thetechnocrat4979 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mani Vijay
      Yeah! It would have been a dream come true. I wish I were born earlier to see them in action! I feel that IR should start a weekly heritage special with twin WDM2 locos (in the same old livery) hauling pure Rajdhani liveried ICF coaches (with upgraded plush interiors), if possible, from Mumbai Central to New Delhi.

    • @vish3161

      Around the time the burning train was made ( early 80s ) , the Bombay Rajdhani did indeed have only 7-8 coaches hauled by a single Ratlam WDM-2. I was doing my engineering back in those days at REC ( NIT today ) Surat and remember seeing this train skip Surat , hauled by a solitary WDM-2. Twin WDM-2s came later in the latter half of the 80s when the number of coaches were doubled. So what they showed in the movie was the real deal .. for those times.

    • @ManiVijay
      @ManiVijay  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am sure it would have been awesome just to see the Rajdhani skip Surat. I remember seeing the 9-coach Rajdhani passing through Dadar and felt so thrilled. And my first journey on the Rajdhani happened in 1983 after it got double-headed. Those were the days when traveling in a Rajdhani meant royal treatment and you felt special. I can recall stopping at Surat outer but we went through the station slowly.
