@@TempestDacine You can see the sheer difference in art style, music, and roster. Coming from someone who enjoyed the shit out of the gameplay of MvCI, it's easy to see why it failed.
@@somethingsomething9006 don't get me wrong I agree with all that but it doesn't really pertain to this video. I love the gameplay too but the fanbase embraced the negativity which is why almost 2 years later we still get pointless vapid comments like shinigami's.
@@TempestDacine Honestly, I'm glad it got more negativity than positivity, because it shows Capcom that we demand a higher quality game than we got, that we expect better from them, and that they will have to seriously deliver if they want us to have an overwhelmingly positive reaction like UMvC3. I wanted it to succeed just to see more of it, but I'm glad it got what happened to it. Each game in a series should be able to stand among the other games, and MvCI only stands out in the gameplay, but severely lacks in all other areas. It also proved the myth that fighting games are only about gameplay, which a lot of people in the FGC like to claim. Don't get me wrong, I'm the kind of person who can dismiss other things in favor in gameplay, but I would never recommend it as a design strategy for a game.
