For all the DIY folks watching this video: I finished my flooring project last week with the Bona products (ClearSeal followed by Mega One finish), and I could not be happier with the results. It looks SO good! Despite reading a TON of forums and comments from "pros" giving a ton of different advice, I found the prep of my solid pine floor and then the application of the Bona products super easy. I was nervous to use the Traffic HD product, so I went with Mega One one part finish, and it's really great to work with. Both the ClearSeal and Mega One were easy to apply and I would say very forgiving. Used this exact roller method for both the sealer and finish (just a 3/8" nap microfiber roller, which I know isn't the Bona brand roller), and after that first room, the rest of the 1000 sf was a breeze. Again for the DIYer, don't be afraid of this product because it says 'professional use only'... as long as you do a good job with prep and aren't getting crazy slopping on too much finish at a time, it's totally doable and so satisfying. 2 coats of sealer on raw pine, followed by 3 coats of Mega One.... my floor looks amazing and I'd recommend this finish to anyone.
Hi @jakelund6474 - Thanks for the positive remarks and happy to hear that this video helped you achieve success with your flooring project! Making a wood floor come to life is always so rewarding - and now on to enjoying the fruits of your labors! Cheers!
@@BonaProfessional I have read so much of your content and watched so many videos, and no where that I have seen does it explicitly give guidance on the rollers to use. I appreciate this gentleman's comment. I would suggest on ANY and ALL of your videos that you EXPLICITLY define the roller being used, and if we cannot access your application products in time (I cannot find yours in stock anywhere) exactly what will best replace it, what features to look for. I think I did my kitchen floors with just a foam roller because I could not find any guidance. They look fantastic, but now that we are moving on to another large space, I thought I would search again. Still, I cannot find what to use with your One finish product. I see your products on your website but even there the type of roller it is and the nap or not and the products it works with are not identified. My consumer suggestion is that you fix this and make it easy to find no. matter what page or video we have stumbled upon.
@@KatSchlitz Thanks for the suggestion and definitely understand the issue from your perspective. Bona products are made for "Professional Use Only" though we know there are a lot of DIY folks out there who undertake their own flooring projects with our products. The same place where you purchase other Bona products should have the Bona rollers that we use for the sealer/finish application. If unavailable, you can always use a "Best" quality, 3/8" nap microfiber roller from the big box stores. Another good source is floormechanics.com/ for all things Bona. Hope that gives you more accessibility to the right tools.
Thank you for the video! It looks like the floor, which you show the demonstration on, has already some coats on it. Do you have a video, where you roll a newly sanded floor?
Hi @og7748 - The process is the same, but you need to generally work a little faster with Sealers, as they tend to soak in a bit and thus dry faster than Finish layers sitting on top. Also, make sure that you check and maintain the environmental conditions - temperature, relative humidity, and air flow - anything that might cause your Sealer application to dry too fast. Hope that helps!
Is it necessary to use the cut in pad if no baseboards are installed? Can I roll across the grain at the "headboard" as mentioned in the video then back-roll into the field without leaving a overlap mark or heavy line? Thank you!
Hi @dansarfert3585 - It's always good to have a detail tool in your pocket for those areas where the roller can't reach, like a cut-in pad or a brush; but, yes, you can ditch the cut-in pad when baseboard is not installed and roll across the heardboards and then out into the field without leaving a lap line. Hope that helps!

What kind of roller?
Hi @ludwinorantes3952 - The Bona Roller is a 3/8" nap microfiber roller. Hope that answers your question.
