We've been having a lab dog for a 4 months now, he's 6 months old. As a family, we are not particularly experienced with the dogs, but this one is really amazing. I mean, he is so easy to train, it's unbelievable. He learns so quickly, needs only a few repetitions to get a new command. So, it's hard for me to comprehend that some people have problems with Labrador.
Ivan Dr That’s good. Each dog though, has a particular temperament and energy level, no matter the breed. I have a Golden Retriever, Labrador Retriever mix. He’s a year old with insecurity problems. He is naturally a calm, submissive kind of dog with an enthusiasm for life, but the minute he sees or sometimes hears something that sounds suspicious he’s perked up and eventually barking like a maniac when he feels that it’s indeed a threat. I’ve only had him for a eight weeks but a pain it has been due to that behavioral problem.
This type of dog behavior is a reflection of the owners' own behavior and inability to understand dogs. That dog owns those people. As a side note, the dog didn't almost burn the house down, the humans did by leaving pizza boxes on top of the stove. Who does that?
i need a help too.. but too far i guess to hire the same trainer. having a lab is great. but my lab only listens to my hubbi's comand at one go and take time to decide on my commands :( and even same as this dog in video
Having a dog is literally like having a newborn human child-in fact my mom said that Leroy was more work for me than either me or my brother were when we were babies. Adolescent dogs are like having a colicky baby and teenager in the same body at the same time. Having a hound dog is like having a colicky baby, teenager, and toddler with ADD.
I said what I did to convey the point that dogs are a huge responsibility and a lot of work for the benefit of anyone considering getting one who read my comment. I do volunteer work at my local shelter and many of the dogs are 'adolescents' in the two to three year range. They are physically fully gown but mentally like teenagers and thier puppy antics are no longer 'cute,' but dangerous. I don't know when this became an argument worthy of name-calling, and think what you said was entirely uncalled for. As for caring for children, legally, once they are 18, you don't have to care for them, but dogs require care for the length of their life.
Oh, by the way, there's a little bit of wonderful information about dogs that I love to share with other dog lovers like yourself. Google, "Dogs Are People Too" and read a few of the articles about this document that people like Stephen Hawking signed. I think you'll find it fascinating :)
Audrey Burkett dogs all dogs are full grown by the first year lol, but their brain and mentality isn’t. It can take up for 3 years for giant breed to act like an adult.
Amazing job!!! I have a spirited male yellow lab at home as well. He is very smart and we have come a long way with "leave it", "drop it", and etc. It is my 5 year old special needs daughter at home that derails a lot of training. It's hard to reinforce rules when the 5 year old is enticing the dog to do the opposite :) Great and very helpful video!
Good thing the owners are willing to learn to have orders in the house. Having more than one male dogs without you having any control on them, you are just living in a war zone
I have a question. How can I train a Labrador (who is one year old) to get down and stay? if whenever I put his chain he keeps on dragging me forward with his full force. It's always been a hard time to train him.
Did you see how the wifey jumped to get first aid for the coffee burn? She didn't even lose her place in the novel she was reading. YA YA I know..... It was a reenactment.
How shitty do you have to be as an owner that a few hours training fixes everything? The basic understanding of the dog's needs were simply not given. Those people need dog owner education!
cocotimbo yes, watch cesar Milan videos. She’s young, don’t give her time. The earlier the better cause once they are grown it’s going to be hard to break those behavior you let him get away
Take a look at the first video with the owner, flaying his arms all about ! He has no control over Mr Bossy Boots, because Bentley doesn’t respect his methods, his voice, he doesn’t demand respect. Yelling won’t do the job, certainly hitting the dog won’t . after Ron is finished, invest in a really good book on labs. Good luck.
I’ve only had labs my whole life. I’m 22 now, and I’ve only had yellow labs. They need to swim. It’s absolutely imperative that they get their energy out. Swimming is the best way, as they are meant to be swimming dogs. They are the sweetest, most gentle animals ever. Labs should be treated like theyre the best friends to humans that they are.
Does this man strike you as cruel and ignorant ? Do you see the prong collar on the yellow Labrador? I would lay a 6-pack of Cokes it is a Herm Sprenger quality training collar. This man is a professional trainer and he acts like it! The owner should not be amazed ... he abdicated his responsibility to the dog by being a wimp and finally woke up and hired a skilled trainer to get him started toward overcoming his ignorance.

"We need to get him trained, honey." ---she was talking to the dog
That is such a quirky and mischievous statement. I love it! :)
Cutest labs are the hyperactive, clumsy and obnoxious ones.
The Lab doesnt have a problem his owner does!
Spot on, April.
How?????? you guys who always angelize dogs are pathetic. They have their own characters too. They DO NEED training. Whether you like it or not.
Just a suggestion. Maybe you should put a doggy life jacket on your pooch. Good for you for taking him out with yo
Excellent trainer!!!!
Lab dog that doesn't like pools... somethin's wrong.
Anton Roumeliotis so true! Mine, as soon as he has the possibility to swim, he becomes the happiest Lab ever.
the owner says fishing in his kayak, but no fishing poles seen in the vid?..good training must of payed good money for all this good training!
You are a great trainor
his owner doesn't exercise him. blame the dog
Owner doesn't exercise himself.

Prexactly!
who put a prizza box on top of the stove?
They ran out of space if the are pizza boxes even under the bed you gotta go to extreme lengths dude.
Uh me?
He is good now
The trainer did this backwards. He should have trained the dog for a week and the owner for a month!

Yeah, but you don't have to deal with them for the rest of your life..
No, just a decade. And the two or three years of them being babies and adolescents is more than many people can deal with and they end up in shelters.

Real pro.
I have a question.

Great transportation
This is liek Cesar Millan and Holly. A dog that burned down a house? Two Labs there in the video?
Well done
People should be required to pass a test before being allowed to own a dog. THIS guy shouldn't even own a turtle!
Nailed it. yepyep.
Funny
Yes
Thanks for saying this
That man is a miracle worker!
Did you see how the wifey jumped to get first aid for the coffee burn? She didn't even lose her place in the novel she was reading. YA YA I know..... It was a reenactment.
This trainer is related to John Starks fo sho
Haha You're Great!

Exercise. The. Damn. Dog
Awww so cute
Urgh, I'm so jealous. I'm struggling with my 4 month old Lab right now. She gets so boisterous sometimes, it worries me soo much.
Watch ceasar milan vedios.
Biamah Ampofo-Tenkorang don't watch Cesar Millan videos. she's young, still a puppy. Give her time.
cocotimbo yes, watch cesar Milan videos. She’s young, don’t give her time. The earlier the better cause once they are grown it’s going to be hard to break those behavior you let him get away
Maybe if you walk your dogs you'll have less issues with obedience. They're bored and need more stimulation than lounging around the house.
I trained eight lab puppy in just four month
We are also having lab dog
Is it impossible to train a 7 yr. lab?
Take a look at the first video with the owner, flaying his arms all about ! He has no control over Mr Bossy Boots, because Bentley doesn’t respect his methods, his voice, he doesn’t demand respect. Where are yu located ....
This video proves that [some] Black Lives Matter. Great job by the coach! He can train my dog anytime
It's not impossible to train a 7 yr old. The fishing poles were forgotten he was more excited about getting in his kayak with his dogs.
My dog also eating paper and waste
He looks stressed the whole ass time not gonna lie😂
Yellow lab untrained that is embarrassing they are the easiest dog in the world to train.
Eat something. Yo!!!
Such stupid owners they have to hire a trainer to teach the word leave it, why they even have a dog
a lab that's never went swimming......bad owner

Andy Cannon i totally agree with you all Labrador should have a swim. If you like have a look at my Labrador swimming
That owner seems like a doof.
where is the dogs life vest?
Pfft, yellow labs are the Olympic level swimmers of the dog world.
+LinkStateOSPF The color doesn't matter though
30 days
all this seems like your fault , BRO
This owner is full of chit. The owner needs to be trained or neutered.
Neutered ?? Hahaha
or de-virginized
Both!
Wtf😂😂😅
Really bad acting at the beginning.
