Making a Mallet

For the longest time I had a mallet that I made from a pine 2x4 and 4x4. It held up for longer than I expected but it was bound to break eventually. So I made this mallet with walnut, padouk, and ash.
The dowels combined with the wedges for the handle might be over doing it but hey, why not?
