That is probably one of the coolest ideas I have seen in a bit. Really cool. Can't wait to see more videos soon. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Fab on. Weld on. Keep making. God bless.
You mean like.. you apply the paint remover and pretty quickly cover it tightly with plastic wrap? Just ordered an extra tank so I can take my time with this and not have my bike out of commission, mine won't have many hard to reach spots but anything to make the process easier.
Hello, do you think this would work on a motorcycle frame? I have a spare 2006 cbr1000rr and really like the look of repsol track fairings with the silver frame.
looks awesome brother...I done the same on my Panigale..used satin clear coat as I find the gloss dulls down the brushed look a bit by diffusing the light!
I'm living in Vermont, so very similar weather. I'm getting 'freckles' of surface rust under the clear coat after 3 years. It happens mostly during winter storage (unheated metal storage shed, cement floor). My paint suppliers says that there is not a clear coat made today designed to go on bare metal, that a primer must be used. I see it's only been 1 year for you. How is it so far? ~Roy
Very nicely done! :) I wanted to do exactly the same thing. I'm thinking about using powder or paint brush. I'm assuming you painted it? Because powder wouldn't stick to the stickers. Can you please give me a quick response? Greetz Benny
Look amazing. What have you done to make sure the clear coat sticks to the aluminium? Paint won’t and requires a base coat design to bone to aluminium. Obviously, you’re not using a base coat so you must have some other method.
I’m about to embark on this myself. I tried to vinyl wrap my panigale tank and it wasn’t successful. So I’m gonna give the real deal a try. Most videos I have watched say 220 grit. But the 80 gives it a nice look. What grade sand paper did you use initially, before the 80 grit?

I wasn’t sure what the hell you were doing scratching that aluminum take with 80 grit, but boy. That does look nice. It’s kind of like when my wife judges my projects half way through. 😅
Hi there. How can I get ahold of you? I’d like to start the same project for my Panigale 959. I see a Home Hardware bucket in your video so you must be in Canada somewhere… lol
That looks freaking awesome
Amazing work . Thanks I might try this soon 🥰
Thank you for posting this! Inspiration for my xDiavel 🙏🏻
i have this paint job on my v4s looks awesome!

Thanks for watching brother much appreciated
Wow nicer than the original!
I put plastic wrap over the paint remover, keeps the vapors in which helps a lot with the removal. Nice work!
Going to have to try that thanks for the tip

Hello, how did you make clear coat and what equipment you used? By brush or? What is the clear coat type? Thanks.
Love it! ❤
Very nicely done! :)

Awesome video!! I'll be doing this here soon on the channel! Great video!! 👍🏾
Thanks
Welcome any advice to remove low spots in the aluminum…they look like very small dings…I cannot seem to sand out fully.
Your going to have to push them out from the inside if possible
@@BonifabcustomRobBonifacio Thank you. Would building up a clearcoat help with more layers work if they are very small/slight imperfections?

Excellent Work :) can I do with my CBR 250R 2011 model
After you were done with the 80 grit, what did you do to prep the tank for clear coat and decal adhesion?
The only thing i did after the 80 grit was clean it with acetone

I used 120 for most of it but to finish one way i use 80 grit
Do I need to apply some anti rust? Thanks
I didn’t use anything this tank is aluminum so it won’t rust like steel , thanks

I initially sanded it all with no more than 120 and the final look was with 80 grit one way then i clear coated it
After you fished with the 80 grit did you use a scotch pad at all to clean things up??
Sorry to keep bothering you.
No i left it like that rough
How long will the clear coat last? I'm thinking of same thing on my Harley tank but I ride in rain a lot , I'm worried about the rust.
Can please explain how you put the clear coat on,because you showed only how brush the tank
Thanks
Clear coat is just sprayed on after sanding
What brand/type of paint stripper are you using?
Great video, thanks for sharing 👍 😀
Aircraft grade , I’ll have to see if i can still make out the brand
Auto zone Carries an aircraft grade paint stripper.
@@BonifabcustomRobBonifacioever get ahold of that brand?
Can i do this to my 2021 Panigale v2?
Yes you can
Would you do another one? What was the ball park cost for doing this?
Email me some pictures then i can give you an estimate thanks

Looks great man, what clear coat did you use, regular 2k or direct to metal 2k?
Thanks, direct to metal 2k works best
