I think the hilarity of the trick is enitrely based on personal preference as well as the execution. This is why Mr Woo- ding your performance was spectacular

I believe it can be funny at least 4 or 5 times, buuuuuut I also believe it also depends on the way the Magi performs it as well.
Yes, I think it could be funny if presented extremely seriously by the magician or in a tongue in cheek kind of way. What ever best suits your natural style. 👍

I will look into properly at some point and see how many tricks are the same if you strip them (pun intended) back to their bare bones...
I did a version of this to a large group of friends.. I sectioned them off and told each group of three that they had to remember just one card I forced that single card onto each of the four groups. I did shuffles, cuts etc then placed their card on the table, the first group came up and I lifted it up off the table so they could see. Then they went back to their seats and as soon as their attention was back on me I placed that card back into the deck.. shuffled, did a riffle force from my stripper deck, placed that card on the table and asked the next group to come over and do the same. repeated the process with the other two groups.
I then said I need to get out four cards since we had four groups and I grabbed the 10 of clubs and 3 random cards.. just remembered what card I used lol, I laid those cards out on the table face down knowing that the forced card was in the third position. I flipped over each card one by one after saying don't say anything till you see the card your group chose. Well.. suspense built because I got the first two wrong and there were smiles because I F'd up the trick. Then the third card was lifted on the table and everyone said "that's the card!" Then every group looked at each other kind of lost on what just happened, then they looked at me and I said "Thank you"
