    Howdy Mish, I'm always more excited by the relics than the coins so that was a really fun hunt to watch for me. I concur with everyone else on the first two mystery items i.e. a parasol tip and and parts of a folding knife. I've no clue on the third. My favorites were the old naval button and the suspender clip. Thanks for taking me to that beautiful spot. Have a great week and take care. Your buddy, Roelf

    The crown is for Sheffield and the anchor for Birmingham. Whether it was manufactured in Sheffield and then assayed in Birmingham or the other way round, I'm not sure!

    Great digging. The spoon looks like a William Page silver plated spoon from around 1870’s. The hallmarks are usually a diamond at the top with WP inside. A B on its back. A fleur dis lis. Then what looks to be a wheat sheath and at the bottom RD in a diamond. I may be wrong though.

    That 4 part spoon is cool, possibly mowed over at some point? I had a nice beach detect and found $7.40 best day coin hunting yet for me.

    • @DirtFishMish
      @DirtFishMish  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      G'day Andy! I don't believe the spoon was hit by a mower as it wasn't mangled in any way - just split - so perhaps the alloy it is made of is brittle, or it suffered stress fractures from an impact that became the weak points to erode at.
      That's a great day on the coins - keep checking that spot for sure!!
      Cheers mate :)

Most of what they had was polkas, but they did have a copy of Waltzing Matilda which we wore slap out, along with the only other tolerable record, a non Elvis copy of “Wooden Heart”. We were easily amused!

    Do they really date suspender buckles "down under", or is that date just the year that particular style/model of buckle was patented? Wouldn't it be great if everything we found had the year of origin stamped on it??
