    Owner of a 2019 TRS 300RR with 150 hours , Best Bike I’ve had so far out of 3 (2 Sherco 300 ST factory editions previously ,, also good bikes but the TRS is better IMO),
    My favourite thing about the TRS is the power delivery , it’s amazing , throttle control feels precise , clutch is super light adjustable and very precise , the finish and components are top shelf🥇The front loom is actually pretty good Dan , once you trim it down ( get rid of the headlight and rear light )and move the map switch into the super skinny TRS bar pad ( there’s even a little diamond notch in it already )
    However my three complaints are identical to what you’ve discovered in this review ,
    Snail cam tensioners like on most other bikes are definitely easier, but supposedly the TRS style tensioners don’t slip when tightened to spec and once you keep the adjuster threads copper greased they’ll be mint.
    Only one piece of advice for taller riders , I’m just over 6ft1 And I like to run a 5mm spacer under the handlebar clamps for just a little more comfort while keeping the fork legs in the exact stock location in the triple clamps , if you want to use two spacers under the handle bar mounts (I’d recommend only to go for 2-5mm spacers) be careful when un tightening the handlebar mount nuts underneath the top triple clamp , They are tight tight and you can round off the Nuts when using a ractchet which you’ll need as it’s hard to get a spanner in there , not only are they really tight but you need to use a vice or rubber mallet to get the two metal pin bolts out of the triple clamps , turn them upside down and re insert them into the top triple clamp and you have more space on top for a spacer and just enough thread below the triple clamp to tighten the nut fully.
    You can buy Carbon Fibre Foot-peg Knuckle protectors from Steve Saunders TRS Distributor UK , they’re a bit of a fiddle to fit and may need a bit of fettling , but they protect the part of the frame that gets scraped by the foot pegs ,, Although I haven’t seen them in stock for a while , (Steve get them back in stock 😢)
    Only one complaint Dan ,,,would have liked to see you try a few more sections 😋
    However , well bloody done on the step up to 90 degree hop off , tasty riding there D 👌🏻

  • @ianmargetts4940
    @ianmargetts4940 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Yea, I agree, and the TRRRRRRRRSSSSSSSRRRRRSSS has always looked a bit, let’s say over styled, sometimes less is more? It does look a very nice well built bit of kit, but the prices of most bikes now are on the fringes of a really nice car. Especially when you think most of it is old tech, not cutting edge, look at the GG, improved but still carb and not vastly different from the pro from 02? IMHO..

    Great review, i can relate to your findings. I love the driveabilty and lightness of my 2020 250 TRS Raga Racing Replica (how many R’s can you add). I switched to a billet CSP tank cap to protect the private parts. Only known weak point that TRS should adress in my opinion is the waterpump seal, mine started leaking after 6 rides and my mate had two of them go bad in one year.

    • @TrialTube
      @TrialTube  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

  • @rx2ride259
    @rx2ride259 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Love my 2021 250 RR. HOWEVER, there are like 7 of them in my club... EVER single one leaks at the water pump seal. They keep "updating the seal". My latest fix was a new pressure relief valve on the radiator. Holding now, but feel like it's on borrowed time and will leak again. My buddy has a new 22. It leaked within minutes of the first ride. TRS needs to figure this out.

    • @TrialTube
      @TrialTube  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh my that isn’t good at all!

  • @shawnmcginnis2508
    @shawnmcginnis2508 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Yup pretty similar to my thoughts. Never noticed the light wiring on the bikes I've tested. The rear does look a bit sloppy but I wonder if it needs to be a bit ick because of where the light is mounted. If it was nice and tight it would do bad things when the fender bends. 🤷‍♂️ .
    Anyway I feel like the TRS compared to my R2 is a little more skecty in the corners. The front seems to blow out with less warning. I don't care for the 250 motor, but the 300 was really nice. Anyway great vid as always. Thanks again for another good and honest review!

    It’s amazing how different the 250 and 300 models feel. 250 TRS, Sherco, Beta feel small and nimble. The 300’s of all those bike feel like bloody tanks, no comparison. Strangely the GG and Vertigo bikes don’t have the same issue.

      I'm not a fan of the TRS rear wheel adjusters either. Not familiar with the newer GG adjusters, but looking at pics it looks like they're inboard cams which I also don't really like. My older GG has outboard cams with notches in them, set both cams to the same notch and tighten the axle, done in like 5 seconds.

    gone back to to have a look at this after the new beta podcast. the styling of this bike is a mess. everyone needs to learn from how the new gas gas looks. ie. like if ferrari made a trials bike.
