    Wondering why they discontinued the cheap plastic boom and canopy... Kind of killed the "crashing for cheap" concept of the Fireball?

    electric static kit ? thats the first time i ever heard that. although i am familiar with electro static discharge from being in a helicopter squadron in the NAVY (hsl37). do you think that would be an issue in fl for instance itl be hot and humid this weekent and i was planing to mount the neo in the back this time. I would have ordered it when i ordered the heli. i have not had any issues with my 800 or 700

    That tail rotor belt makes a great Van de Graf generator. You can probably get tens of thousands of volts built up on a dry day. Great for frying the electronics.

    I just got the "SAB Goblin Fireball Competition Electric Helicopter Kit" on amazon, is there anything I need to buy besides the remote and batteries?

    I was flying in front of the house and the Sab tail servo died and caused me to crash into the driveway pillar and EXPLODED. Around $250 in damage. The worst crash i ever had.

      How can you conclusively say that the servo died? Could it have failed due to the crash? Could something else have failed and caused the crash? $250 in damage? Fireball? Booms are under $15 and canopies also under $15, blades are $40 or so, how could it be $250?

      I got the havok combo edition recently and had four flights on it when the tail went out and rapidly spun until it smashed into a brick pillar. Was moving real fast and high up when this happened. Damage # boom, belt,blades main and tail, blade grip, spindle and main, tail and 1 cyclic servo cause it bent the shaft on cyclic and tail servo doesnt respond, canopy only because i wanted it though was able to glue and fix crashed one, landing gear, servo arms, servo linkages, ball ends needed the anti rotation pin cause that bent, swashplate cause bearing has massive play. I replaced the tail servo with MKS $75. So it got up there is repairs

    BERT.. That plastic boom is brittle and aweful. Hence why its the only part out of stock everywhere...it needs to be replaced with a carbon one..please. Like the heli. Hate to have to sell it because of this issue..

    • @BertKammerer
      @BertKammerer  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is a value machine designed to be used as a beater every day and crashed. Booms are under $10! ... and I have crashed mine very hard at IRCHA with lots of witnesses and the boom survived! Last I checked amain hobbies has it in stock, so does anything heli and many other dealers. A carbon boom is in the works and will be available soon along with a carbon canopy. However, as a beater, plastic is the way to go!

      Bert ..out of stock everywhere.. .. And only part for the 280 that isnt in stock...

    • @BertKammerer
      @BertKammerer  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is because of short supply, not because they break! I run SAB USA so I know for a fact we shipped tons of them to Amain Hobbies a couple of days ago, but they're in California, so can take up to a week to arrive there. Also Anything Heli ordered some and they shipped a couple of days ago too, they should receive them today, tomorrow or Friday at the latest.

    • @audio131
      @audio131 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bert . ill check tomorrow maybe they got them in.....are you coming to the ne heli crew phenom next month?

    • @BertKammerer
      @BertKammerer  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes check, I know Amain will have soon, just takes a long time for them to get our shipments all the way from Florida to California, but anything heli should have them very soon. Unfortunately I doubt I'll be able to make it to Heli Phenom, I am very busy these days, but I think I'll be in Virginia for their event there in late September!

    I'am unclear why SAB has changed direction and decided to go into the toy rc heli business. For me, this model is a big disappointment and a total fail for the company. You can go on and on about how great plastic is, but for me, it's trash. I hate anything made of plastic, period. After years of producing well engineered heli's, constructed of aluminum alloy and carbon fiber, this kit seems out of place in the fleet. I think SAB should put this puppy to bed, and come up up with a better design

      Doug Howdy I understand your concern, this kit is not for those who prefer carbon fiber and aluminum, however it is a perfect kit for entry level plots or for those looking for something to break regularly without breaking their bank accounts. The Mini Comet on the other hand is geared more towards people that prefer higher end materials. With this being said, there are choices depending on what people prefer.

      Is not a problem any brand has an entry level model if well designed. For me this model is what SAB needs to introduce more customers to the brand. I have a Lot of Align for the cost/benefit. And this was my firt SAB. Now I have 6 SAB models.

      @@R.B_B Invest in a Raw 420. It's a much better heli compared to the Fireball
