I got discharged from the hospital yesterday. When I was in the hospital, I ate some meatloaf, some mashed potatoes, and some broccoli. I also ate some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I also ate some corn flakes and some cream of wheat. They were all delicious. Except for, the people kept on giving me eggs, which I'm allergic to and coffee, which I hate. For beverages, I had some water, apple juice, orange juice, and ginger ale.
I was in Charlotte-Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, CT for a couple of days and the food was the best I've had in any hospital I have been in. Actually delicious, which surprised me!!
The grilled cheese sandwich at my hospital was one of the best things! Salads were also good, and their Mac and cheese. For hospital food, yours looks ok! Hope you are well now.
My insurance plan covers cup of jello, something called hot dish, and Swanson frozen pot pies. Although my insurance company says if I get injured it's likely I'll be kidnapped by two to four strangers driving a utility truck with flashing lights so if I can still run away to definitely do so. That'll save me some money.
I've been hospitalized twice in the last couple of years and wound up spending months eating hospital food. Sometimes it wasn't bad at all, but if you've been in the hospital as long as I was, it can get very repetitive after a while. This vid does bring back memories.
Hospital food taste fine to me !!!! Especially the daily soup & sandwich specials they have in the cafeteria & as far as what they serve to your room , I honestly didn't mind any of the food either!!!! U can literally call the kitchen yourself & order anything u want on the menu just like room service!!!!
I was in a hospital for 6 days back in 2015. The food was good but they give you small portions so be sure to order a number of different things with each meal to fill you up !
I’ve been in and out of hospitals for a while now they always give you the scrambled eggs, French toast, pancakes, one or two pieces of bacon if you’re lucky
I have NO complaints about hospital food except that they use to give more food, and they use to give late night sandwiches in case you get hungry past bedtime
depending on what hospital you're in, the food isnt that great. (the ones ive been to) it'd be nice to have meals like they have over there in south korea and japan to be more tastier and help replinish your body to heal quicker. the food i had would have a nasty weird chemical smell and taste to them.
damn! if my breakfast looked that good I wouldn't have minded staying. Instead I went to Tims in the basement for a sandwich and diet coke and jello once they cleared me for regular food. 1 full day of hospital food was enough
I like hospital breakfast and the other meals I just order fresh fruit and fresh veggies unless they have the chicken and rice which is really good at my hospital
I just got out of the hospital for my asthma condition and trust me, they really controlled my diet plan: low fat low sodium low sugar breakfest, lunch and dinner: which was eggs, toast / baked chicken & fish, veggies, mashed potatos / roast ham & roast beef, veggies or salad, cottage cheese and toast, light sauces, no salt , only mrs dash seasoning and pepper. No butter or anything tasty like that, light tea and two cups of fruit servings. But now im out of the hospital and feeling better , goodluck to anyone who has to stay at a hospital, eat good food, get rest, get medication, get well and then leave. Come home safe and continue with personal medical health treatment. ❤❤😊😘😎🥗🥪
It's exactly like prison food. Jail food is worse. They want you on this diet so you don't gain weight & become unhealthy. For anyone who wants to lose weight it's great, just don't eat everything on the 2k calorie tray
You can get water!!!??? What the hell, you won’t get that at Henry Ford Health Jackson, unless you want warm tap after you’ve asked 4 times. Glad you’re at a decent place!
at first it looks yummy, but the plates kinda get worse and worse, most of it is carbs. The body needs proteins and fats from good sources like meat egg and avocados. The first plates were kinda good bc of a good amount of eggs but as I said the later ones like fries and mac isn't anything near a well nutritious food. I also watched prison foods, prisons also feed their inmates a lot of carbs and stuff so they can't thrive. Only filling your tummy with empty caloris doesn't make you thrive. just something to think about...
I am in the hospital for kidney stones. After having stints put in I can eat. I am on a low carb diet which I put myself on 10 months ago. I have lost 50 pounds and beaten that awful carb addiction! My hospital is big on high carb! 😂. Guess I will have my husband to bring me a hamburger w/o the bun and a few strawberries. I mentioned that I wanted low carb meals. Not going to happen! It will be a long time before hospitals see the value of serving at least lower carb meals!
The logic behind hospital food is that if you feel the food is tasteless and bland it's a sign that you are getting better and you should be discharged soon.
In oncology you get everything you want but for the first few weeks it does not matter how good it is, or how much you thought you wanted it. The chemo makes you so sick.

Damn that looks fire my hospital food was shit in Springfield
I’ve been hospitalized in AZ and Banner Health had an actual menu. The food was actually pretty good. They had a Philly Cheesesteak and quesadillas.

Right! And having someone situate and plate up a little tray for me is a treat
I got a job as a food service assistant at a Hospital close to where I live in 2022 and the next year I became a kitchen hand as well.

Hospital food is not bad except if you are on renal diet, then it sucks big time. If you don’t want kidney issues drink lots of water.
lol I remember ordering a meal and they wouldn't let you have 3 starches at UAB . French fries , mac n cheese and corn ??? I don't think so .
For what they charge they should be giving you lobster for breakfast lunch and supper.
I am in a nursing home. Our meals are crap.
Nice food
Thanks
I want to see low carb low sugar hospital meals
looks good but why no meat?
Lol 😂

Im from Canada, do you guys pay for that food at the hospital in the US or it is free?
It eventually is included somewhere in the whopping hospital bill you get later.
It’s the eggs that I always hate! I have to salt them little by little with some pepper to get the right taste 🤦♂️

Your diet probably caused your stones
Hye im 14 years experience cafe supervisor shokat khanum hospital
Worse food I ever ate was in a VA hospital.
The logic behind hospital food is that if you feel the food is tasteless and bland it's a sign that you are getting better and you should be discharged soon.
Very Similar to prison food. Jail food isn't as good
😊
Where’s the sandwich 🥪 pizza 🍕 hamburger 🍔 🍦 😊even hospital food drinks snacks and deserts can be good tasting and healthy
Hospital food ain’t the best but it ain’t horrible imo, what’s worse is public school food
Just FYI, there is a menu to choose from and aside from the eggs, this person looked to be a vegetarian.
Pls l have be employed in hospital to hostess pls can I no my job to do before going to the training 👍👍👍👍

Best wishes
Cm
Thank you so much
Fries corn macaroni cheese and bread is not okay, shame on them
So much carbs 😮. If you aren't a diabetic the hospital will make you one. I would eat the eggs and drink the hot tea.
In oncology you get everything you want but for the first few weeks it does not matter how good it is, or how much you thought you wanted it. The chemo makes you so sick.
U must be vegetarian
Those pancakes look like the ones i saw when i was in the hospital oin August. Yuck. The fruit was the best thing. And salad!
Pieces
Those are the saddest looking pancakes I've ever seen
Do u have job.
I won't be full by dinner.
Carbs, carbs and more carbs. Making sure you leave with diabetes 😢
a lot of plastic
Total waste of my time.
Not good
