Thank You for this lesson on the Epiphany...I'm a convert who came to Catholicism in 1970 but I didn't get the information about the Catholic faith I should have but I have studied and read the Bible since I was a small child...I was raised to read and study by my mother and developed a love for my faith and in God what I do know now is because of my devotion. I have wanted to take the classes for new Catholics but age and health issues have kept me from taking them. I do so appreciate this lesson this evening truly enjoyed it. Love and God Bless. †

Thank you and God bless you Fr. I learn so much from the weekly talks. I am amazed of how much about my own religion that I don't know. I was born and raised in a very strict Catholic family so it amazes me that there is so much I didn't learn. My granddaughter is making her Confirmation this year, and I am her sponsor. Your talks have helped me to give her better understanding about her faith. I remember growing up a lot of times when we didn't understand something, the answer we received was always"we know because we have faith". I think about when I taught CCD and the little ones were learning their prayers, I wanted them to understand what they were saying and what the prayer meant. I was told my the Director, the kids just need to memorize the prayers. I think this is why sometimes we didn't learn how to properly defend our beliefs. I don't want my grandchildren to just regurgitate what they hear, I want them to understand their faith. I feel like your talks can be a benefit to all Catholics. Our teenagers should hear them.

My attempt to explain my epiphany yesterday
1/7/2022
After watching the Purgatory movie, I was moved to pray more for the Holy souls and I wrote a slightly different version of the prayer below about a month ago and I was trying to pray it every day. It never felt right or complete until yesterday on 1/7/22. I was in church during adoration and after several minutes of prayer I closed my eyes and cleared my thoughts to listen and became aware that my heart was beating louder. I started to be more aware of my breathing rhythm too and this prayer came to mind. I opened my eyes and saw the crucifix on the altar and completed the part in the prayer about uniting the prayer to the sacrifice of Christ on the cross and the prayer now feels complete. Imagine how many partial indulgences I can obtain for the Holy souls if I keep this going every day. Thousands!!! I hope some more people can do this.
Lord Jesus Christ through the Immaculate Heart of Your Most Holy Mother Mary I am thankful and grateful for all You have given me. All that I am and have is Yours. I ask to unite every breath I take and every beat of my heart with Your sacrifice on the cross as an indulgence for the holy souls in purgatory that are most in need of Thy mercy. Amen 🙏

Before Father Alar, I didn’t even know what Adoration was! 🤣 ignorance is not bliss. I don’t mind at all that I never see anything special during Adoration…for me, I’m so grateful to even be in the presence of God.

Fr.Chris, with your burning zeal in bringing the words of God and planting it into our lives help us to seek Him, strengthens our faith and makes it fully alive. Like the three Wise men, who encountered and experienced the presence of Jesus, passed another way back, an enlightened soul after knowing Him, would surely not go back to the old self. Thank you, Fr. Chris for being our good preacher and teacher.

A few months ago I stumbled across your explaining the faith series and went on a serious binge. I have watched some more than once and have also advocated to friends and family. Your recordings are life altering and EXACTLY what I have been searching for. There has got to be a way to teach these things in catechism for our youth. I KNOW, without a doubt, if the youth were taught the fullness of these truths, we would not be living in spiritual warfare. We are losing our kids because they are bored with the same stories of Noah’s ark and Jonah and the whale. They shut down and don’t see value in what they get. Especially when they hit the 5th grade to Confirmation. Perhaps a development of home school catechism with your recordings? When Vatican II came along, my father had me pulled from my religion class while attending a catholic grade school. I had to go Saturday mornings to a home with about 6 other kids to get my teaching. Your talks take the learning of our faith to the level I wished I had while raising my kids. Do you have every one of your talks on DVD? And yes Father! Go Blue!

Fr. Chris, Marian Helpers are fabulous, and this video! I don’t know what I would do without you priests, and this video reminded me that I’m older, but Jesus is far from done with me. Learning & living the life Jesus wants us to live is something my husband so deeply learned in 1981 when we made a Cursillo at Camp Saint John in St. Augustine, FL, where we were taught to grow our faith from our minds and into our hearts! Living the“4th Day” to Bloom Where I Am Planted” has given immense desire to keep our eyes on the Jesus and feet on the narrow road. I love our Holy Catholic Church because it is from Jesus! 🙏♥️

Thank you for your enlightening, wonderful talks Father Alar. I enjoy them so very much! I wish the church also celebrated the Transfiguration of Our Lord. Even though it was just to His closest Apostles, Jesus was Transfigured in front of them. That was a true epiphany of His Divinity, and strengthened his apostles.
Yes, good point. I thought of that too but by that time they knew he was God. It was just a glimpse of Him in His glorified state.

I got them...them because by mistake I typed 2 instead of 1 when I placed my order :) I will give the other one to my niece or maybe to the Divine Mercy organization in the Philippines. I also ordered the books of Fr. Donald Calloway and Steve Ray. I was hoping to meet Steve Ray in Israel because we had the same date of pilgrimage last December. Unfortunately, Israel's border was closed due to omicron and my trip was postponed to March or April. God bless you and your family.

Our TLM church did give us blessed water, salt, frankincense and chalk; along with instructions for the blessing. Perhaps you need a more complete church? Novis Ordo misses so much !

Seeing the Old Testament prophecies fulfilled and the very God became Man and Magis recognized this , I strongly believe this God king's virgin mother must be sinless before she was born. Otherwise why should the Lord of the universe come to a womb stained with sin? And she must remained virgin, for she was prepared for the king of the universe only. Revelation 3:7 ESV

*The Magi/Kings Indeed Arrived Promptly:* I'm enjoying your video....however, had to chime in at the point where you discuss the magi may have come well after the birth. I think it is more likely they came near the time of birth--not 12+ months later. Herod out of an abundance of caution could have opted to kill any baby up to the age of two. Like when someone (not me) buys cigarettes or alcohol, there are signs in stores that say, "we check id's up to the age of 30"(or something like that, even though the legal age for each is 18 and 21). To eliminate any confusion for those who were to carry out the slaughter, Herrod (who is heartless) opted for all children 2 and under, so there would be no doubt for Herod, and the killers. If Herod said only newborns or only 6 months old, parents could have argued----this baby is 3 months old not a newborn, or this baby is 10 months old, not 6 months, etc. Setting the age at two years and younger would eliminate any doubt the newborn king would be part of the slaughter and any potential incorrect discretion by the killers or deceit by the parents. It also accounts for any large newborns--after all, if it was a king, in Herods eyes it very well could have been born big and walking and talking appearing larger than your common newborn (haha, but seriously). We also have the magi relying on the star to find the newborn king, which additionally supports the idea that the star marked the birth and time.....of course there is no specifics on if they relied on the historical marker of the star and where they saw the star signaling the actual birth....but it is much more plausible that the Magi arrived right on time, promptly at the appearance of the star (or whatever reasonable time it would have taken to travel from their starting point--1 month, 3 months, 5 months?). The magi ran to the star, the newborn king, as we all should. Amen
