    The tools & accessories that I'm using - www.itzikdiy.com/tools-list?m=1
    A summary of some viewers questions regarding this video, and my answers:

      Q: Do you know what causes the wall cracks in the first place?
      A: It seems that the plaster /mortar layer wasn't tight to the concrete, it was "floating" so the movement caused the repeated cracks every few months.
      This is the reason I removed the deep layer and replaced it.
      Its been a year since I made this video and it still fine 🙂. Hopefully forever.

      Q: What did you use for first layer and then second/final layer? There seemed to be a difference?
      A: Yes, these are 2 different materials. The first material (I put to fill the deep layer) is mortar/plaster. This specific material called "Gypsum Mortar" and comes ready mixed powder and it should be mixed with water. It dries relatively fast
      .
      The second layer is for smooth final finish - Wall Filler Putty / Glue Putty.

    How Come you didn't moisture the wall ?

    • @XDIY
      @XDIY  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're right! I didn't do it and it's required.
      I made this video few years ago and I didn't know that it's better to moisture the wall before applying the new materials (or also apply a primer for better bonding). I'm a DIY'er and learns all the time and also from the comments. :)
      Thanks.

    Is it really necessary to use a flat wood and sand paper to get smooth finish. When ever i do a filler job, i get lines at the end

    • @XDIY
      @XDIY  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you manage to apply the finish perfect, you dont have to sand it later, but that's hard... I always use sand paper

    How do you how much concrete you need to remove before you start with the repair work? Are there any signs to look for?

    • @XDIY
      @XDIY  ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't remove concrete layer, but plaster / mortar layer. See more info in the pinned comment.

    Our 60 year old house is masonry, and the plaster on the interior has cracked, due to settling. Most of the cracks have buckled outward (towards the room). Will this technique work for us?

      I sounds something more complex than my case, that should be checked by a pro... Good luck.

    Did you seal substrate before? Original plaster has been gypsum or lime-cement-sand?

    • @XDIY
      @XDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Original plaster is about 50 years old :)
      I think it's lime cement sand.
      I don't know what do you mean by seal, but I didn't seal anything. It's an inner wall.

      In my case it's just because the buildinhg is about 50 years old, and there were many old mortar layers... Meantime, 1.5 years it's still fine.

      כל כמה חודשים חרצתי עם שפכטל ותיקנתי וזה חזר. שדפקתי על המקום שמעתי שזה ממש חלול. כפי שרואים הסרטון היתה שם שכבת טיח מאוד עבה. הבניין בן 50. הטיח היה מנותק מהעמוד ולכן התזוזה שלו גרמה לסדקים. הקילוף של החלקים הרופפים עזר וכבר שנה אין בעיה....
