  • ALL my orchids featured in my videos are grown outdoors year-round in a sub-tropical climate.
Most languages are available for closed captioning through automatic translations by TH-cam (check your settings).
    Hybrids featured are:
    V. Golden Doubloon (tessellata x denisoniana)
    V. Stephen-Scott Young (tessellata x testacea)
I was made aware that (V. Thailand x V. tessellata) x Pda. Mimi Palmer is now registered as
Vancoanthe Memoria Holland Tan (V. Ocean Storm (V. Thailand x V. tessellata) x Mimi Palmer)

You are the best on TH-cam in educating people on growing orchids. I want to believe that you were a teacher or public speaker. You truly are the best

Thank you so much for your kind words!
As a matter of fact, I have been in finance and real estate all my professional life. One of my teachers told me once that « what you understand thoroughly, you should be able to explain thoroughly » 😊

Amazing blooms, love them all! Thanks for sharing. I really love vandas but unfortunately don't have the space to grow them bare rooted, so I got one in a big glass that is growing. Have you ever grown vanda in glass vase?

    • @orchidhouse
      @orchidhouse  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

I must say I have not but I am not sure I understand the concept? What medium do you have in the glass Vase? Vandas cannot have roots that remain wet. So not sure how that works in an enclosed glass vase if the moisture stagnates?

@orchidhouse The water is not touching the roots, and I water every 2-3 days and let it to dry in the vase. I guess you have the Florida weather to grow yours bare rooted, hung in the air. Thanks again and happy growing.

I water them every day but now I understand what you meant: you don't have anywhere to hang a basket I guess??
Anyway, like anything else, as long as it works for you, that is all that matters! Happy growing and thank you for watching!

Place you are in is looking soo interesting. Is it green house or garden or maybe I heard that people living in Florida have huge mosquito net around their garden. It doesn’t look like a garden it doesn’t look like a green house. And also stands are also looking beautiful. All setup is looking beautiful. Do you have any video about your setup?

      Thank you very much.
It is called a "screened-in area" which is typically around a pool in Florida and is indeed a huge mosquito net but I did not put it by the pool but another part of my garden for several reasons:
      1) more room for orchids since the pool takes up so much space LOL
      2) the mosquito net acts as a huge shade cloth and also filters excessive rain when we have torrential downpours. It benefits the orchids tremendously
      3) It keeps the iguanas away
It is not a greenhouse but an outdoor growing area with protective netting basically.

@@orchidhouse Thank you soo much for explaining in detail 🙏 I love your catasetinae type collection. I couldn’t get good experience with them because of spider mite and some weird tomato fungus in my region. But I am stubborn I will do it one day. So I like your videos. Beautiful orchid garden thanks for sharing. All the best ♥️

      Where do you live?
I made a video on mites on Catasetums. It requires a bit of persistence, but that is a problem that you can definitely get under control but oyu ahve to start over every year obviously since Ctsm grow a fresh set of leaves every year.
