At first I thought the “us” was about her and her abusive husband, as on it ends with them. Why did she drag a baby into this, in this case it should’ve been “it ends with me” 😵💫
I listened to the audiobook out of curiosity and it was actually better than I expected. Absolutely mediocre writing and fanfic-like at times but the writer manages to make you step into Lily’s shoes and see Ryle’s charming and charismatic side so that you understand how hard it is for her to leave him behind at the end. The film seems ten times less moving though; Lily being aged up does a disservice to the story since her sense of youth and lack of life experience was essential to her character. I think they should have chosen actors that had really intense chemistry because that’s what makes Ryle and Lily’s dynamic impactful - the fact that they have this undeniable connection.
yess exactly !!! ageing up the characters really irritated me, it was such a contributing factor as to how Ryle and Lily's relationship was so off balance to begin with, they were at such different stages of their lives like he was in his mid thirties and she'd just kind of gotten to proper adulthood! urgh I could rant about it forever 🤣
@@gracehazell1590 I think she was in her early twenties and Ryle was thirty but him being older than her was definitely important; he had much more life experience and a demanding career while she was still figuring out her life. Just horrible casting for Lily 😭

no definitely not supposed to be an awkward character!! in the books she's in her very early 20s so still young and naive, which I guess maybe Blake portrayed as "awkward" due to the ageing up of Lily for the movie, but not true to the book. (in my opinion)
She wasn’t apt for the role . Period . She didn’t take the movie seriously. Those who have read the book.. how much do you think she justified the character ?
i read the book and was very excited to see the movie because it’s kinda rare i find movies made from books i have read. i haven’t seen the movie yet but i’m sooo sad everyone thinks it was terrible
She’s a total miscast imo. I saw people saying Abigail Cowen would have been a better choice and after looking her up, she would have been perfect as Lily.
Here's my conspiracy theory : After whole train wreck with Blake, I do genuinely think, during acting out this movie Justin was thinking out loud" I need to get the f*ck outta here b4 mah brain fried any more".😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
I'm aware that Ryan Reynolds AKA Blake Lively's husband rewrote the balcony scene but seeing that acting with that rewriting looks really bad. Seriously Ryan stick to Deadpool and don't interject into other people's film productions especially Justin Baldoni's film production!
7:19 Exactly, why's she smiling? This scene was so POWERFUL in the book. I couldn't wait to watch it, but damn the disappointment I felt. The delivery was so bad, it wasn't giving what is was supposed to give. Blake didn't do this role justice at all.

Riiightt, definitely a story about love and growth, and not at all about DV.
I guess I understood the whole story in just 8 minutes. Thank you for saving my time. ❤😂
The whole movie I just wanted to take a hair brush and comb her hair. It was so frizzy and all over the place 😭 Like gurl i know you used you own hair company products but its giving just woke up after 8 hrs vibes
0:27 THIS SHOULD NOOOTT BE THIS FUNNY OMG
my grandma unknowingly went to see this movie i feel so bad for what she went through
As a girl with frizzy hair i feel targeted 😭💀
Brushing doesnt help any wavy hair girls out here with me 🥲😔
Same 😕
@@AnnaNowak-nv8ce frizzy hair so normal to me i wouldntve even noted it in the movie. Like even if it was a PURPOSEFUL frizzy style for the character in the movie, like i wouldntve noticed. Stand together in frizzy hair unison 🗣🫶
stay away from brushes 😫
sameeee brushing wavy hair makes it even worse
try to style it, i used to have curly frizzy hair, i changed a lot of shampoos and conditioners before i arrived at one which worked the best for me. so you could try too.
@@totallytwisted ive tried everything, it just has a natural state that you could try to fight, but im not into that kind of constant emotional turmoil 😭
53 seconds in its Justin Baldoni of course he is beautiful.
She really had no chemistry with the other dude 💀 even in interviews they look so bland. I was shocked when I found out they’re love interests
I thought I was the only one who found her awkward throughout. I have not read the book so can someone confirm that was her character? If yes then I think Blake nailed it. Justin killed the role. Serwaa Onyame Nhyira wo for this edit😘
Blake nailed it! Copy and paste from the book🫡
@@hi3pelser474 oh i get it now wow im not going to read the book now🤣
Bro that's sarcasm 😭 she did not nail the character, she ruined her😭@@missgeography5672
no definitely not supposed to be an awkward character!! in the books she's in her very early 20s so still young and naive, which I guess maybe Blake portrayed as "awkward" due to the ageing up of Lily for the movie, but not true to the book. (in my opinion)
I am sorry but aren't they a little too old to be playing like 20 smth year olds 💀
they’re supposed to be older in this movie apparently 💀
Why is no one talking about the subtitles? “I’m the kinda girl you take home to Obama”
Here's my conspiracy theory :
After whole train wreck with Blake, I do genuinely think, during acting out this movie Justin was thinking out loud" I need to get the f*ck outta here b4 mah brain fried any more".😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
I literally peed myself watching this. Thank you for your service
Younger lily killed it though, she made the stiffness of the og look natural and almost charming
I can’t unsee serena
What did Obama ever do to him? 😭😭😭😭
Oh wow even at this length it’s so hard to watch 😭😭 she is literally just being herself 😭😭
The worst books being made into movies will never not annoy me 😞
She's the next Bella with all that lip biting and stuttering 🤣
But, rime stamp 4:52 was brilliant. Forced the narcissist to take a look from a different angle
Those subtitles are insane lmao
justin look so damn good in this movie whew jesus……….
I'm not age shaming Blake but she's very old for playing lili's role, even those actors who played the childhood Lili and Atlas looked old 🤷🏻♀️
I'm aware that Ryan Reynolds AKA Blake Lively's husband rewrote the balcony scene but seeing that acting with that rewriting looks really bad. Seriously Ryan stick to Deadpool and don't interject into other people's film productions especially Justin Baldoni's film production!
Bro totally agreed
This movie was so Wattpad coded I was trying my hardest not to leave the theater
My boyfriend and I actually left the theatre during the restaurant scene 💀
04:30 tha is so real, blake just ruins the whole film
I swear you're by far still my most favourite editor love youuu❤
Love you moreee❤
7:19 Exactly, why's she smiling? This scene was so POWERFUL in the book. I couldn't wait to watch it, but damn the disappointment I felt. The delivery was so bad, it wasn't giving what is was supposed to give. Blake didn't do this role justice at all.
0:32 bro thought she ate 💀
5:15 but you watched the movie LOL
nahhh what illegal website did you watch this on because the captions being wrong almost every single time got ittt LMAOOO
I’ve come to the conclusion that if Justin were with literally ANY other actress…the chemistry might’ve made up for this absolute train wreak of writing and plot 😭
She thought she ate with the lip biting. 😩😩😩
Justin nailed this
Justin's back must hurt from carrying this whole movie on his back
The fashion 😭
Awfu l
The faces expressions at the beginning remind me of people imitating Bella Swan on TikTok LMAO
"Im the kinda girl you take on obama"
