I was born into a conservative Muslim home Alhamdulillah. And your videos are so comforting. In this day and age so many people come to question the values we were raised with. I don't care about the views of non Muslims and islamophobes about Islam because their opinions don't matter. It's the uninformed fellow Muslims who can cause so much doubt and confusion. This goes to the issue of hijab, makeup, eyebrow plucking, music etc. Thank you for being so strong so others would be inspired. I'm inspired.

Suhanallah very well explained mashaallah! I just wanted to add that people argue that the term hijab was ordained only for the wives of the prophet, and that is technically true because in the Quran “hijab” literally is a veil, like a dark curtain that separates and prevents from seeing through, while today the term has been commodified to mean headscarf. In the Quran, headscarves are referred to as jilbaabs, and the one I’ll focus on- khimaar. Linguistically khimaar means something which originates on the head and flows down, similar to a goat with all white hair except for its head and neck being black. This definition is also supported by the remnants of the word in other parts of the world the Arabic language reached back in those times, like Somalia. In Somalia a headscarf is a khimaar, and most accurately, the one piece you slip on (again like the goat). This term is known to have meant headscarf and that is ordained for all believing women, so when you hear someone arguing that hijab is just for the wives, tell her she is right, but that the definition of hijab in modernity has evolved to be a synonym to khimaar and she is required to wear the khimaar.

I see certain female muslimah TH-camrs saying that the hijab is a cultural thing and not obligatory etc. It hurts me so much because they influence others and people into thinking it's true. They are basically trying to put their own opinions into it and that's just not right. Who are we to have an opinion on what the creator has stated. It's just upsetting. Also whenever someone mentions the truth they are classified as the haram police which is just crazy to me.
I get that there are some Muslims that really judge others and are rude etc but when there's Muslims who are genuinely giving true advice they get called the fricking police.
I also hate the term "modern muslim" make a vid about that term please sis cuz that annoys me SOO much😂

Please stop generating Lies on God & Quran .
To those who say , "Headcovering is Mandatory" , please do not put lies on the Creator. Read along to know the evidence.
    👇
No where in Quran has God instructed women to cover their hair. Nor such statement can be found by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
Say "Do you see that which God has provided for you, you make some of it Unlawful (Haram) and some of it Lawful (Halal)?" Say "Did God allow you to do this? Or do you tell lies about God?"
    [Chap 10: Verse 59]
Wearing a headcover is not Obligatory. It has been interpreted wrongly to make it appear so by the Saudis & Iranian theologians.
This is very unfortunate that the Patriarchal interpretation is being imposed.
It is doing no justice to what actually God had said in the 7th century to the 7th century Arabians
God has no where mentioned this nor do we find any source from Hadiths where Prophet has instructed women to cover their hair. In fact many other scholars have mentioned that in Hadiths they only find it as a cultural practice not something that Prophet ordered it to the Arab ladies.
    Overall "Modesty" is the key.
And covering of the chest is what God had said in Quran to the Arab ladies who already wore Khimar as a part of their customary dress which was also worn by idol worshipers .
In Chap 24 Verse 31 , He had revealed to Prophet to tell the believing women that their vulgarity was obvious if they did not cover their chest , so cover it with the Khimar that already was worn by even idol worshiping Arab Ladies & other non-believing Arab Ladies since it was their customary accessory of their cultural norm dress worn by Arab ladies of Jahilia time.
By classical scholar , Muhammad Asad , a Austro-Hungarian born Muslim journalist , traveler r, write r, linguist , thinkerv, political theorist, diplomat and Islamic scholar. Asad was one of the most influential European Muslims of the 20th century.
    His Translation 👇
    Al-Nour (The Light) - Chap 24: Verse 31
" And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and to be mindful of their chastity, and not to display their charms [in public] beyond what may [decently] be apparent thereof; hence, let them draw their head-coverings over their bosoms......"
the Arabic word Khimar ( Head Cover) used in the Verse 31 , is a headgear , which was worn by the Arabs even before Islam came , it was a part of their ancient desert dress , which was used in protecting from the extreme hot climatic conditions of scorching heat wave under temperatures of 42°c & 45°c which the desert dwellers were expose to .
And the Creator uses the word Khimar because Arab women of Jahilia time were already wearing it . Hence Divinie specifies its correct utilisation that is to keep their Chest covered with it .
The instruction is not Hair Covering or Head Covering by Divine but the chest covering . That is the difference brought forward .
The object of the 7th century is mentioned but its specific utilisation is emphasised .
And Muhammad Asad's explains very well the history behind in his commentary found in this TH-cam video

Women need to be warned of falling into such traps 👇

And if you are quoting stuffs from this site ,
    👇

So please do not put lies on the Creator that He insists women to cover their hair.
He has only instructed women to cover their chest along with over all modesty.
    Peace !

      @Mohammed Nawaz
Please for Allah sake don't attribute lies on Him & misguide.
Please refrain from Wahabism doctrine preaching . It's the most Literalist twisted interpretation attempting on women as a by product of their political statements.
Not a single proof can be brought forward from any Sahih Hadiths of Prophet commanding women to cover their hair .
Inshallah we all Muslims will get rid of this Extreme promotion of this sect Wahabi salafi theology which has really put Islam to its mockery state .
And lastly saying , God has not said anything about Headcovering. Please go through all the links. Thank you .

Nowadays headscarf is not protecting you from anything, if you were to be harmed you will regardless if you wear headscarf or not.
What about situation where wearing headscarf’s can actually expose you to danger (e.g Eastern European countries). God prescribed this rule to protect women, sure not to put them in danger, so how applicable is that teaching for a women living in a islamophobic society ?

So after sone discussion/arguments I am now slowly transitionning into hijab. Now I am covering everything except my hands face hair and neck when I go out, then maybe next week I am going to start to try and wear baggy clothes when I go out (the problem is almost all my trousers are tight), then I will add the headscarf. I am doing it like this so I dont get overwlehmed all at once and quit, and my parents want me to do it like this to make sure I am dedicated to wearing a hijab. Inshallah all will go well.

    Salams Samantha,
As a revert to, I am in two minds about this.
I have read alot into this topic and at the end of the day we are saying
“ scholars agreed that this is mandatory” but then the obvious question has to be asked….
Why are we listening and following men who are NOT the messengers of Allah SWT?
When the words of the Quran are already clear and perfected….
Quran also warns us of false hadiths and messages from those are NOT messengers/prophets of Allah
    [7:185]
“Have they ever reflected on the wonders of the heavens and the earth, and everything Allah has created, and that perhaps their end is near?
So what message after this 'Quran' would they believe in?"
[45:6] "These are the Verses of Allah We recite them to you in truth. Then in what statement after Allah and His Verses will they believe?"
We didn’t need help interpreting adultery, gambling, murder, alcohol etc from the Quran because it’s clear, just like the verses of modesty, it’s clear…..
    Which is what?
For BOTH the believing men and women to lower their gaze and guard their private parts..
Allah swt knows the past, present and the future, that’s why gambling was even mentioned in the Quran as being sinful,
even though back in that time there was no casinos or poker machines, Allah knew there would be in the future so it was mentioned in the Quran..
If Allah knew more then 50% of his divine creation (humans) would not be wearing the scarf fast forward 1500 years or having this controversial debate don’t you think he would have warned us in the Quran the importance of covering the hair, and at least the punishment for this?
No where in the Quran you will find this clear information or a punishment for a woman who does not cover her hair ….
    When committing sin
    ie. zina, murder etc…
both men and woman are held equally accountable in the Quran and also in the sharia law…
I find the Quran being FAIR and JUST for both sexes, as it should be, I find the Quran saying that haram is haram for both men and women and halal is halal for both men and women….
The dress code is EXACTLY the same when it comes to being fair and just, so tell me why do the believing men not wear their outer garments on their head to cover their hair?
Even though It was reported that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) wore a Yemeni burd (cloak) and a green burd and he wore a jubbah, qaba' (overgament) at that time ?
Scholars have confirmed the dress code of our beloved prophet Muhammad SAW, and still no believing man dresses like this unless it’s on a Friday ? As it’s “sunnah”
Don’t you think the covering of one’s head is sunnah for both men and women then???
    To my next point,
You had made some references from the Quran with some text out of context…
You mentioned at the start of your video the first verse
    Al-Ahzab 33:59
“O Prophet! Ask your wives, daughters, and believing women to draw their cloaks over their bodies. In this way it is more likely that they will be recognized ˹as virtuous˺ and not be harassed. And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
Point one: do you notice at the start how it actually says “ASK” and not tell ?
Asking is giving the free will and option…
    Telling is a command
    Asking is an option.
Point two: draw their “cloaks” not the word jilbabs like you had said in your video.
Point three: both men and women would wear cloaks, khumurihina, khimar, covering ( outer garments ) what ever you want to call it, at this time and it WAS a part of their culture for many reasons mostly being that it was the most appropriate thing to wear for the environment that they were living in the desert involved sandstorms, extreme heat, dust etc.. list goes on…so yes, a cloak/jilbab etc was worn by BOTH genders as a “norm”
I understand and appreciate your argument here but how can be sure what the actual definition is, to make our own assumptions that Allah “meant” covering of the head to, just forgot to mention it?
Like how can we say this?
Are we really over here preaching what Allah actually meant?
When we also say, Allah makes no mistakes?
Then to go on and spread DAWAH like we know 100% ?
    It is not allowed….
We are not allowed to lie..
It is our duty to spread the word of ALLAH SWT, and the words from the actual Quran…
What I see nowadays is those spreading the word of scholars who are mostly men and their interpretations, which is wrong.
I would love to see what the world would look like if the scholars were predominantly females…..
would the rules and laws be the same as they are now?
    * “The Word of your Lord has been perfectedin truth and justice. None can change His Words. And He is the All-Hearing, All- Knowing.” (Qur’an 6.115)
Let’s also not forget this authentic Hadith
    * Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, Allah does not look at your appearance or wealth, but rather He looks at your hearts and deeds.” (Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2564)
So why as Muslims are we more focused about the outer appearance when it should our hearts and deeds?
    May Allah guide us.

Masha Allah I arrived at this video in my search of justification / confirmation.. I was thinking heavily of whether Allah did order women to cover our heads/hairs.
I think Al-Ahzab 39 and An-Noor 31 still leave room for interpretation of covering. I mean it did say, make the khimar drawn to the chest so it’s covered, but I still think it doesn’t necessarily means literally make the khimar longer, it could be just extending the clothes / using shawl like some sisters said at the Q&A, to cover the chest..
I am picturing the way ladies dressed in the 18th century, you know with the ball gown type of dress and corset-like tops. They used head scarf too, and tied it low behind their head (I was thinking of this image when I listened to Nouman Ali Khan’s youtube video of wearing hijab/not - that’s mesed up). But their bossoms were partly visible. So when I read the verses I genuinely think Allah just meant to cover the chest and dress modestly (by universal standard, not middle east standard)..
And it did sound logical, when you said if people interpret this incorrectly (let’s say Allah did not mean headscarf) why didn’t our Prophet saw correct the women who then dressed covering their heads? But while hearing that, I kept thinking how do we know how Aisha or Khadijah dressed? We don’t even have photos or pictures of them. Aren’t we just assuming that they dressed covering their heads/hairs with the headscarf like we have today? What if it was different?
May Allah guide me and us all who are looking for confirmation on this particular order of covering.. thank you for the video sister, may Allah reward you for your good intention and strives..

Even i was thinking the same. If wearing the headscarf was a cultural thing, and then when it was revealed to cover our bosoms, doesn't that make covering the bosoms part obligatory??
And y wud prophet ask them to change because technically they are not going against the commandment right? They are covering their bosoms.
Idk i just want some help regarding this and i hope i made my point made sense :)

First the generl message that Allah swt gives to mankind, that he is the only God, we have to obey him and the prophet, to habe a good charakter, take lessons from the people of the past etc
Secondly: There is jurispudence (fiqh) what is on a other level, of understanding and fiqh is no business of a basic muslim.

i have a question. so obviously in the Quran and Sunnah it is clearly stated that a big part of wearing the hijab is modesty in order to stray away from catching male attention. However, in modern day it seems clear to me that men are no longer drawn towards the simplicities of a women’s features such as her hair, but rather than her body instead. -this knowledge is also rooted in basic science as well. So i completely understand the need to cover up and *dress* modestly in Islam. but i do not understand what modesty in the modern world would be interpreted as, because back then i could understand why you’d need to cover up your hair. especially since showing much more than that wasn’t *nearly* as normalized as it is today. Could a fellow brother or sister please educate me on what purpose wearing a hijab serves if hair is no longer associated with male attention?

I just saw your video although i respect you and love your videos because you love what you do and i respect that but i don't agree with you on this and nowhere in the Quran it talks about a headcover because you yourself just read the verse and dont understand it. God didn't say to cover there hairs, he only said that women should not expose there garments, it doesn't say do not expose your hair or something and as for the headcover, during that time the Arabs women wear headscarfs because of the sun and the dessert they didnt had any t shirts or buttons and there garmants were exposed so Allah said use the end of your headscarf to cover your garmants thats all the verse say nothing else no headcover or something. Even in the Sunnah the Prophet never talked about a headcover after this women can do whatever they want if they want to wear a headscarf its there choice if they dont want to wear it fine no problem and its not haram. Peace to finish where the hijab is manditory is only in salat or a women going to Mecca,Medina or a mosque.

No ofc hijab is not an obligation in islam , just keep up with me to understand.
In qurran if a thing is demanded directly from the God himself it is usually started with 'God order u'
    And so that means the
demanded thing is an obligation , but if it started as "oh prophet say ..."
Then it is not an obligation, it is just a culture temporary rule for the people who lived with the prophet at a certain time , and it is just a temporary rule to solve a social problem, and that we see in the verse wich order women to dress in a certain type of way "not necessarily the hijab as we know today"
So they get recognised as free women, and not slaves , and that was a social order to protect them from bad people who might think that they were slaves and use it as an excuse to justify their bad doings , and that's why the verse ends with "so they get recognised and no harm be caused to em (women)"
If that certain type of clothes was ordered to end temptation by women and have them protected then simply god would have said 'so they don't seduce men'
So it is clearly was a social temporary rule to end the problem of men mistaking them with slaves, and as for the other verse that command women to use thier Khomor, to cover up their chest , it is clearly command us to cover exposed skin and not hair , face nor head or nick or wutever, it wants us to hide some parts of our bodies that might be seductive, and obviously our head is not one of these part , as Jeyob means not only chest but means bosoms, and that means chest , butts, thighs and back and torso
Any one having a question you can ask me , I've been studying the verse about this subject for 3 years now , and you can find a lot of nowadays modern scholars who agree with this ,.
And remember God just want all of us to be protected and happy , not just protected, and that is a thing that all believers with both genders deserve.

you might want to read about why the hijab verses were revealed in the first place. They were revealed to protect the wives of the prophet from harassment when they go out in the evening to answer the call of nature ( urinate).
Check the hadiths about Sawda and Umar ibn al khatab. The veil was used to distinguish between free women and slave girls. It was a social marker used to protect free women. I know that your modern way of understanding veiling is related to spirituality, modesty and God , but the historical facts show that it just had a social function in a society in which slavery was the norm and there was a complete lack of safety

Sadly in the west it is considered as a target and even in the east women are molested also with a niqab on. And there is such a hate towards the muslims that choose to not wear it. It’s something that takes with it so much pressure and prejudices.
Before the revelation as u said wearing the headscarf was a normal practice, even in European countries, but since it is not something that is used now, can’t be sufficient to cover just our chest and the rest of our body?.
    Can hair be considered adornments?.
Is really the hijab something that is absolutely needed as prayer?.
I personally believe in the Hadeeth but don’t give them as much credit as I do to the Quran. Because Allah said in the Quran that everything we need to know according to social rules and personal ones is in the book.
In the hadeeth instead there are so many controversies. Actually they just confused me.
However this topic to me personally is complex so I will still get through a lot of studies❤️❤️

Anna Artemis It is best not to overcomplicate it sis. Allah swt explicitly made it obligatory upon us women to cover. You should just take it as that and not overanalyse. There is countless evidence that says it is obligatory.
And yes you must wear head covering when praying or else your prayer will not be accepted by Allah. If you can't wear headscarf in front of anyone else, the least you can do is wear it out of respect of Our Creator when praying.

Hey I know what you’re going through. I went through it myself and I live in Muslim country! It’s a journey and studied myself a lot on this subject. Eventually I came up with the conclusion that I, wear the hijab to show my devotion to Allah. Just like nuns or monks who cover up because they want to dedicate themselves to God or police officers who wear badges to show their allegiance to the state. Wearing the hijab does not mean that you’ll become perfect no, it means that you’re trying to be good in the eyes of God and not worrying about society and their ever changing beauty trends. Have a nice day!

The scholars said one of the rules of wearing hijab is not to be a zeena( زينة) in itself, I am not sure the right translation but decorative in it self and how you judge that by the norm of society for example not wearing very bright colors if it would bring attention to you but if it is what everyone else wearing it will become normal so it’s okay.

Assalamu alaykum sister, Eid Mubarak. I am a hijabi myself, and I really appreciate that someone who is in the postion of an influencer finally says how it really is, without trying to please everyone. If someone doesn't want to wear the hijab it is their business, but they shouldn't try to change Islam by telling lies. If Islam said the hijab is optional, I probably wouldn't be wearing one, since I live in a western society. Just because some girls choose not to wear it, doesn't make it right.

Do we believe in Allah or not? Allah is the creator and Allah knows better than us human. Just follow what Allah says. After all, this world is only temporary and a testing ground for all of us. How to pass the test if we keep questioning the examiner?

At the time of the Prophet women wore veils and Allah told them to take their veil and cover their chest, but the second part of the verse is something like, "and Allah doesn't want to cause you any hardship." That's telling to me. In cultures where we haven't worn veils since the Middle Ages, it's not so clear that we should start. I always wore one "just in case." But I don't think it's that cut and dried.

    *The Sunna and Hijab
The sunna -the sayings and examples of the Prophet Muhammad (S)- is the second most important source for Islamic laws.*
The following two sayings from the Imams of the Ahlul Bayt on the issue of hijab are presented here as an example.
Al-Fudayl bin Yasar asked Imam as-Sadiq (‘a) about the forearms of a woman: whether they are included in the “beauty” as described by the Almighty when He says, “and they should not display their beauty except for their husbands...” The Imam replied, “Yes, and what is beneath the veil covering the head (khimar) is from the beauty [as mentioned in the verse], and also what is beneath the wristbands.”3 As one can clearly see in this authentic hadith, the Imam has exempted the face and the hands, but everything else has been counted as “the beauty that should not be displayed except for their husbands...”
Abu Nasr al-Bazinli quotes Imam ‘Ali as-Rida (‘a) as follows: “A woman does not have to cover her head in the presence of a boy who has not yet reached the age of puberty.”4 The implication of this statement is obvious that once a boy who is not related to a woman reaches the age of puberty, she has to cover her head in his presence.
Even the founders of the Sunni schools of law are unanimous in this view. According to the Maliki, the Hanafi, the Shafi‘i, and the Hanbali views, the entire body of a woman is ‘awrah and therefore it should be covered with the exception of the face and the hands.5
