Never spill Citadel Contrast paints or Shades again! Drip Dropple Technique.

- Hey ya'll! I wanted to combat the scourge of spilling that has been a blight on the hobby for a long while.
With this technique you'll be able to use your Citadel paint pots with ease without fear of spilling and wasting paint!
This is a pretty simple thing to do and work into your normal process. Don't leave your paint pots in your work area with the pot lid open and waiting to be brushed aside, not to mention how that just lets your paint slowly dry out.
If you found this useful, please share this with everyone you know! This is a technique that every painter using Citadel paint pots should know, even those among Games Workshop themselves!
Much love.

*DRIP DROPPLIN' INTENSIFIES*
@@malevminipainting4453 still going to make more videos? Love the terms you use, and the techniques. Even any panting videos?
@@joshdavis4438 Cheers my friend! I really appreciate that. (i think im on the wrong account) but I absolutely plan too. I stream a lot on Twitch.tv/malevflowshinobi - But I'm still trying to learn how (and what) I am going to bring forth.
this is WAY better than the drip drop technique!
Tabletop Minions brought me here. Love your style.
Ash from guerilla minitaure games sent me. I was not dissapointed.
That is the best tip I have had since you showed me how to apply texture paints better. Thank you my dude.
Maybe that should be the next video :O
Yes.
Malev! Loved it and great to see one of the old GW archer models!
It's my boy, Malev! Great job on the video bro, look forward to more.

You are amazing, my man.

Found this vid via your Insta. Dope technique, SUBSCRIBED!
Cheers my man, i appreciate it!
Genius! Thanks for sharing. Look forward to more videos.
Saw the post on Instagram, that's awesome. I would assume you don't do this with washes and just use them straight from the pot.
Cheers for coming through. I do use it on shades aswell, actually.. probably more than anything. (they're the second row in the line up)
@@SPACENOMADMALEV Gotcha, I didn't realize shades and washes were the same, it's been a long time since I've painted.
Do you have a suggestion for us less dextorious painting enthusiasts? My arthritis makes the pinch and twist action extremely difficult.
In all seriousness, this was educational and entertaining...thank you
Instant sub man, you're awesome and I really dig your work ! Keep it up !
Means a lot my friend, thanks so much!
Thank you for sharing! will shure try this Drip Dropple™
Ha! A simple, but effective solution. Love those 👍
When i worked as an artist i would always save the tops off 20 ounce sodas i drank. I would use the caps to either keep a bit of paint in so my bottles wouldnt be open to spill or dry out. Moreover you could mix up a bit of custom color and at the end that bottle cap was trash to start with.
That's a fun one! It makes me think that about an idea i had for saving colorschemes, you'd paint them on CD's and then let em dry - then save them in CD binders like back in the day.
Plup! Excellent video. Subscribed.
You wouldnt happen to be from Milwaukee? Sounds like the right accent. Much love.
Nah friend, I'm from Salt Lake City, UT.
@@malevminipainting4453 No kidding. Been following you for a long time on Instagram and love this tip. Had no idea you were on TH-cam.
I really enjoyed that video. I want to see so many more videos. Signature Shinobi Style. Contrast battle pigs video coming up???!!?!?!??!?!?!?!
Wooooo ! Thank you man, means a lot. I am sort of clueless of what sort of stuff I want to make or showcase.. This video was an obvious choice.. but others?? :O
VOD of streams?
@@whilehobbying Ehh, that work is already done for me.. Those are so long it would take ages to download and reupload
Great advice!! 🙏. Will be using this technique
Loved the video. Im of to splish splash in my airbrush
I do something like this, but I cut the top off the bottles and then gently tap the top on my mixing pallet to get the paint off.
Most excellent!
The issue is also the thing you have to do at 2:20 when you wipe your paint smeared thumb on the very dirty tissue just after opening the bottle.
k
dude! this is the goods!
Curious how the contrast paint work with a wet pallet? I heard they don't do well mixed with water
They work fine really. But yeah, you generally don't want to mix them with water. (if you have a bunch of water all over your wet pallet, it's usually not good for painting).
What camera are you using? looks gud
My webcam! Logitech C920.
*BLOOP* Spectacular
I am diggin' the style :) Do you think that moving the new contrast paints to dropper bottles will be easy? I tried moving the normal paints and they are too thick. And I need to do something with tehe 90+ dropper bottles I ordered from China few months ago ^_^
Add some flow improver and use a paper clip to encourage some capillary action from the GW bottle to the dropper bottle. Transferring to droppers is actually pretty easy.
Take a shot when drip dropplin is said
Love it
I thought that you're not supposed to use contrast paint on a wet palet
Who ever told you that is just scared. I use Metallics, shades, contrast paints - EVERYTHING on the Wet pallet. Don't subscribe to limiting beliefs.
No! You cant use lahmian medium with contrast its not designed for it that is why you have contrast medium! Contrast is more oil based
*thins contrast paints with lahmian medium just fine* muahahahaha
Malev Mini Painting lmfao meh
Drip drop!
Transfer them over to eyelet droppers, they're cheaper than a roll of toilet paper.
Time is money friend! Adapt. Overcome.
@@malevminipainting4453 But I'm clumsy, even with your method I'll spill them.
@@xavierdoe2452 gotta break a few eggs to make a omelette (or something like that). Alternatively, you can practice with a thick base paint the motion and feel. They'll be too thick to spill.
Also, it's 'Time equals your existence' not 'Time equals money' it's an overstated useless comment.
what a buzz
Just cut the hinge off a lot easier especially if the paint is thick.
