I recall hearing the magpies 'song; when growing up in Perth (WA). The magpies were a menace during the nesting season when they would aggressively swoop at everything in site. Scary as a kid.

We learned that the hard way with one of our birds, long ago. He flew around all exited and accidentally flew up into the blades. He got hurt badly and almost died. I was able to save him though, but after that, the fan was on low. Please consider that. That maggie is just too adorable.
When there's a fullmoon, the maggies think it's dawn or daylight. That lovely warble/ song isn't so appealing around 2 am. There are even competitions as to who performs the nicest. A considered little pause, and the next bird is off yawgling away.

I think that separating this bird from its dog friend at this stage is cruel. A baby bird needs to be fed and would die if left alone. Rescuing it was kindness.
I love the sound of magpies in the early morning just as the sun rises. It's a truly majical sound heard nowhere else in the world except NZ and Australia. Giggle gaggle paddle poodle. Beat that Polly.❤

There are other amazing japes and mimicry on YT. Change of Breed, have you seen David Attenborough with the Australian Lyre bird. He even mimics a Chainsaw in the Forests, and car Alarms, etc etc etc. FANTASTIC !
