I think Miami has too long been haunted by it's inability to get over the hump and play to the potential of the talent on their roster to believe they make the playoffs as the ACC champ and don't have a chance to make it to the title game. Miami was one game away from making the 4 team play with Malik Rosier at QB, if they figure out how to put it together enough to win the ACC, I think either Clemson or FSU will be enough of a test to prove they're ready. I've seen a few people now pick Miami to win the ACC but not doing anything in the playoffs. I'm personally thinking that getting to the title game would be great, and that 10 wins gets them into the playoff where their run might include a single victory. I just don't understand the thinking of, they did it, got to the title game, won the ACC crown for the first time, and they don't have enough to make a run in the playoffs. Other teams, personnel wise have far more questions around the field and on their depth than Miami does. The most injury prone players are the line, and Miami has a solid 7-8 guys on both sides of the ball that they can trust. I don't know that there's a team outside of Ohio State that can suffer a major injury and still succeed either (Will Howard going down would not end their season in the least). If you think they're good enough to win the ACC and get there, my argument is they have the depth and talent to make a run. Especially if you're saying Penn State is a Tier 1 team with all the questions they have about even being able to get to 10-2. If you think that's a nod to your tier 1, and Miami making the ACC title game isn't, you're part of the problem in the same way the CFP committee was.
The 2017 team lost to Pitt, got demolished by Clemson, and was dominated by Wisconsin in their bowl game. The win against ND in November was misleading because it was all their Defense. Anyways, "10 wins" is what our fan base predicts before every season. The problem is, we always schedule cupcakes early in the season; we'll go 3-1, then the ACC schedule starts and we get exposed. Cristobal was the wrong hire. He doesn't develop talent and most of his "recruits" hit the transfer portal after 1 year. He might have one good season, but he'll get fired in 3-4 years.

this will be year 3 of the reinvestment on the football team versus 20 years of fleecing the program (Donna Shala 2001-2015) + a couple more years to right the ship. From recruiting budget (best two composite classes ever), training table, team facilities and money to keep assistant coaches etc. When was the last time they had both coordinators come back? -When Mario got hired Larry Bluestein said the roster was terrible and he was proven correct with the need for a total turnover via recruiting and portal. Mario has done it correctly focusing from the inside out on both offense and defense. -The program metamorphosis is complete, 2024 results will follow. **remaining question mark did Mario look in the mirror and decide to get sideline help during games
I agree with the majority of your statements, but my concern is, Mario _lost_ a lot of his players to the transfer portal as well (somehow that never gets mentioned). so, he seems to have a problem with developing and retaining players. Mario's ACC record is 3-5, in both his first two years. Manny Diaz actually had a better record than that. Anyways, Mario has to back it up by winning games. We're tired of the hype and milquetoast postgame commentary. Gotta prove it on the field.
You mentioned Miami taking a step with ward in the direction of limiting turnovers. This tells me a lot about what you’re doing. You’re selling hype. Greg, Geoff Collins defenses cause havoc?! The man gave himself the “Minister of Mayhem” nickname! The only mayhem he created was the way he ran his program as a HC. Really, his defensives were AWFUL at Georgia Tech! He was so good, the college football world gave him the year off! Basically Miami, Clemson, and FSU are the only ones that have a legit chance of making 12 Team Playoff. Don't see ACC getting more than 2 Teams in. Possible only the Conference Champion make Playoff..
I think unless someone makes it into the ACC title game at 9-3 the ACC is guaranteed two teams. Especially if those two teams are one of Miami, FSU, and Clemson at 10 wins. I don't see too many scenarios where the B1G or SEC has 5 teams in above one of those teams at 10 wins. Maybe if the title game a huge blowout, or if anyone in the B1G past the top 4 looked any good. OSU, Oregon, and maybe pencil in Penn State though I'm skeptical. Michigan is in a rebuild year and they could be a fourth. Washington is in an worse rebuild mode (same losses as Michigan but without the good recruiting and portal offseason). Is it gonna be a Nebraska, or a USC? Surely not Wisconsin (how amazing would that be though if a TVD led Badgers team eked out a 10 win season and Miami with Ward didn't?). The SEC has a better chance, but I think getting Alabama, Georgia, Texas, and Ole Miss will be their max this year. Too many of those teams play the teams that have outside chances like LSU and Tennessee and Oklahoma. If they get to 9-3 maybe they get in over a 10-2 ACC, but it seems doubtful. I think the wildest card here is the Big 12, and they're the conference I think only gets 1 team in, their champion (probably Utah or Oklahoma State).

Anyways, I hope he can win some games for the Canes. He only has 1 year of eligibility left, so that's an issue. Canes also had a problem with team discipline~ lots of penalties that would just kill their drives. And it happened all season, mostly in the line. The Canes have always had the roster, but with the Orange Bowl gone, the program has dipped into mediocrity.

In his last year at Oregon, he got blown out by Utah _twice_ (actually Kyle Whittingham was more deserving of the Miami job!). He has yet to develop any sort of talent at Miami . He took a potential first rounder at QB under Lashlee made him undraftable, and the guy ended up transferring! 100%, especially if preseason seeding holds out. It's very likely the ACC champ gets the 3rd spot, with the Big 12 occupying the fourth auto bid bye week. That would likely be the loser of the B1G or the SEC title game facing the #12 seed who is likely going to be the G5 champion. The 3rd seed gets the winner of the 6th and 11th seed, so their bye week likely means more than the 4th seed's. Anyone who ends up in the 4th seed is getting kind of shafted. They get the best of the rest, no set home game, and if they make it through that they have to face the #1 seed. 3rd and 5th in this format is where you wanna be placed, and the ACC looks to be getting 3rd if only because the Big 12 doesn't have any top tier teams, and is full of a lot more tier 2 teams than any other conference.
@@ajilemedia9996 did you mean to say it won’t be clemson? I mean honestly that’s a possibility yes but I just don’t see it with the big jump in performance we are gonna have this year. Everyone on our team is so young. Right now Miami on paper and Clemson are on top. But sadly for the U they have an 8 year old as a coach. FSU had 2 otherworldly transfer classes that made them successful. 2023,2024 transfer classes……ehhhh not so much lol. It think it’s a 4 team race for an ACC title game berth. I believe in my team of course but I can be realistic.
@@clemsonaddict24 that's a fair assessment, but it's also realistic to believe a team (Miami) that upgraded an already talented roster with three of the best offensive transfers at three of the highest profile positions to play behind a top 10 offensive line is going to be good enough to overcome their coaching blunders. They went 7-5 last year and beat Clemson with a true freshman QB. Coaching prevented them from being 8-4, TVD prevented them from being a 9 or 10 win team (NC State had 112 yards at the end of the third quarter and still won 20-6 in a game TVD had 170 yards, 3 INTs, and a fumble). It's a realistic expectation to believe that a better QB, with a better RB, and an upgraded DL and potentially better OL can overcome their coach's gameday calling and go from 7-5 to 10-2 or 11-1. Yes Clemson did a lot in the offseason, but they didn't solve the Klubnik problem just yet (it's funny that since Venables left the defense has been pretty spectacular, but now the offense is struggling....not funny sorry that's rude, like funny strange not funny haha). I felt the same way about Ohio State this offseason. They're the deepest most talented team in college football, and I don't think Will Howard is their answer. He's a better runner than McCord, but he's exactly the same passer. Considering they needed someone to get the ball to their play makers, not make plays of his own, it's at best a lateral move. The player they wanted was the same player FSU wanted, and that was Ward. Clemson could go 10-2 this season, I think they're going 11-1 (I see Miami and Clemson in the title game at 11-1 each, Clemson to Georgia, and Miami to a surprise team for old times sake, maybe VaTech on a Friday night), but if they could have figured out their Klubnik problem they were an easy final 4 pick based on the talent the rest of the squad has. Miami has found themselves with similar talent, they just happen to have stumbled and or bought their way into a top 15 QB prospect.

Look at a kid like Keon, who was projected to be WR#1 in the draft days before the start of the 2023 season and by draft time he had dropped all the way to WR#6. No wonder the kid never speaks of fsu. Always wearing MSU gear and telling the bills he learned football at MSU. 😂
Boys bring in 23 year olds who spent 3-5 years at other programs and call it “development” when in reality going into Y6 Norvell only has 1 of his HS recruits drafted. And it happens to be Jacolby George’s son. 😂
The question is can the ACC conference champion win a playoff game?
Depends on who the match up is. The champion will have a bye so they'd be playing an at-large or G5 team which is certainly possible.
@@cfb1743 TCU out gamplanned Michigan…. yes bro an ACC team can win a playoff game lmao. Not trying to brag but Clemson does own all ACC playoff wins 😊
It hasn't been a problem in the past
2015 , 2016, 2017,2018,2019 2020 ??????? SLICK
This guy really just put Miami as the best acc team? Oh god🤣🤣🤣
It won't be Clemson lmao
Everyone hating on MIAMI 😆. You’ll want our swag so bad but can’t have it 🙌🏾 GO CANES. 🏈
Your team sucks that’s why Clemson beat them
@@FnejeienwnqsjPerfect example of an uninformed hater. We beat Clemson last year with our backup quarterback.
Swag without wins is not true swag😢
🙌🏻 need better play calling and game management by coaches. 🙌🏻 win the preseason every year. 🙌🏻 choke in big games.
The media can prop up and hype Miami all they want but I know they have a snake oil salesman for a head coach. I’m not buying it. 8 wins.
Keep that same energy when they win 10 games minimum.
63-3

Let the hate flow through you. He won the same way at Oregon and laid the recruiting foundation for Alabama. Keep hating but the truth will be in the results. Funny fsu fans have such a short memory for how they got to the slightly above average team they are now. Enjoy your ride back done bub.
Miami has not done anything in 30 years (The U is back), and you think they are equal to fsu and miami who also had an easy schedule every year in the All Cupcake Conference?
Lol casual
Miami isn’t back until a National Championship & spending money the last 2 seasons and top 5 in the NIL. Let’s see what happens this season. 🧌🧌🧌🧌

But none of that matters, because we got that stick for that azz this year. The LI_LI, it's all about it!

@@malcolmjones27didn’t we beat yall with a backup qb and one receiver last year?
@@bruce5612 , yep! you sure did. However, you do know that that was last year, right?! We don't have that sorry a$$ excuse for a QB named Tyler Van Di@khead anymore. The question this upcoming season is whether or not Mario can stop himself from tripping over his own d@mn feet and let his coordinators do their job without interfering. Look, I get why Miami gets so much heat from naysayers, etc. God knows, Mario ain't making it easy to defend the program. However, they arguably have the best roster in the ACC this upcoming season with a better QB at hand. Hopefully, that'll translate into more wins and dare I say it, "a run in the playoffs?!"
@@malcolmjones27 Have you seen the talent we brought in from the portal? I would argue it’s comparable to what you guys got. Our coaches won 9 games last year with one receiver accounting for the majority of our offense. This year we’re loaded with weapons. Miami has always had talent but never coaching. Ncsu has proven coaches and now has one of the most talented rosters iv seen on campus.
It doesn’t matter Miami is losing to fsu again this year no matter how good their roster is
What players are better than the players that left? Travis-No,Versre-No,Benson-No etc. The top 6 receivers for FIfth Spot u had 37 catches for the year last season. 😂😂😂 14 starters gone & didn’t even improve the team and most of the transfers have no playing time or starters. 8-9 wins if Karen State is lucky.
