Zen Yoga moves for the late summer season (spleen and stomach meridians) - with Daizan Roshi

  • In the Zen Yoga system, the body is seen as an energetic phenomenon. Energy is seen as moving along certain pathways which were defined by the ancient Chinese, which we call "meridians". Certain meridians are more important at different times of the year.
    In this short video, Daizan Roshi demonstrates a couple of movements to open up and energise the Stomach and Spleen meridians which are important for the harvest season (late summer).

    Thanks for sharing! I love this zen aproach to yoga - I like yoga in general, but the zen one feels somehow different than what I tried before. Feels powerfull and peaceful, very grounding:)

    Yes. You can hold on to the back of a chair, or stand beside a wall to establish stability and balance.

    mirror image. can one use a prop eg chair. or against a wall to establish balance to begin this seemingly demanding yoga?

      Yes you can certainly use a chair or wall to help
