I believe most of the critiques you had with my boat could be fixed by a walkthrough of the systems, like maneuverability in tight spaces with the split throttles and also how and when to use the lift trim and pitch/roll stabilisation.
Obviously the rear hatch is a problem but i think i forgot to remove it after using a different cooling method.
The "overcomplexity" in the systems is more of a "rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it" kinda philosophy but i understand the critique.
Although i feel the rating may have been slightly unfair, i still am grateful for ending up in 2nd place! Thanks for letting me get so far.
These challenges are for fun, so I really hate to see anyone thinking there is unfair grading :( End of the day, it is my personal preference, which sucks in terms of "formal grading" but it is what creation speaks to me. That is the nature of hosting such challenges with one person grading. A committee and formal mark system would be more fair, but I am hosting this out of my own time, and I cannot test each creation for hours.
It was not a requirement to have "easy to use" controls, so you are totally right - and I can see the huge amount of effort that you put into the wide array of systems! I also prefer to have more systems at my disposal rather than less, but I feel the interface could be more streamlined and some of the system optimized. Your submission looks like it had more features and your interior/exterior was more visually detailed - it was not your maneuverability or systems that resulted in 2nd place - but my overall total judgment of the creation as a whole - including the speed, handling, feel, build, use of interior/exterior decor, functionality, etc.
What I loved about Matt's creation was his subtle and quiet use of exterior styling and decor, efficient systems, little details in the lighting system and branding on the engines, fast top speed, excellent handling, the modern/cockpit like helm, LUA programmed main display, overall ergonomics of the layout of the vessel. My only critique was the room below decks, which I feel could have been more detailed, maybe have a kitchen, medical bed, etc., but the overall feel outweighed this in my opinion!
i understand, yet i cant unnotice that mine and matts vessels have the same capability for turning in tight spaces as neither of our boats have thrusters, 2 points of forward back propulsion, sure his boat can turn without messing with split throttles but the overall capability is the same. Not to mention that the speed of both vessels are very similar and i know (take with grain of salt as obvious "own creation bias will appear" that my boats stability at low, medium and high speed is the same and in some cases better than matts.
I believe that matts vessel won by sheer ease of use and sleek design (cant argue with the nice shape and wheelhouse design) yet if all top vessels had more time invested i believe that mine would come out on top because of its capabilities compared to the rest.
I respect your choice given limited time however i say that subjective choice and opinion won the build challenge. I dont want to continue this conversation further as i dont think people like me for some things ive said before, i think that furthering this conversation may lead to me saying things that do not mean well, i cannot help it.
Thank you for giving me this opportunity of motivation to improve my own knowledge in the game, whilst many of the systems in the boat are not perfect they have improved over unreleased versions, I will probably be in coming boat related build challenges as it was fun (and frustrating) see yall then!@@454ss_gaming
@@454ss_gaming how fast is it compared to 2nd place high gear though? don't think you've noticed/used it in the rescue...
@@corkabiznisLP It was not a speed test, it was an overall test, with my own decision at the end, as it always is :D You can do a speed test if you like, but that was not the only criteria !
