For the last couple years, I have been a silver hair influencer on Instagram and I grew my hair pretty long and worked with a few hair care brands. It was fun and I love the Silver Sister community, and I think I helped to encourage a few women through their gray hair transition as well as help women realize the gifts that come with middle age, which are profound if you can open your eyes to them. There is a lot of joy to be had when you become less defined by certain roles and defined by others and begin to rediscover yourself. It's like a 2nd childhood. And there is so much freedom and power in it.
Anyway, pro-age, pro-woman, and silver hair influencing was beginning to turn me off as it began to take a Kardashian turn. The last straw was when Roe V. Wade was overturned and I noticed that so many of my colleagues who used the hashtag #womensupportwomen had nothing to say about it.
I also don't really want to pressure women to buy things they don't really need because money is time and time is power and my goal here is to help you obtain all the power you can possibly gain by being the truest you.
I have a website at silverilocks.com where I write a ton of articles intended to help women socially recondition themselves in an empowering way where we trust ourselves and other women and want to be big and take up space in the narrative.

It is kind of a perfect paw print isn't it?? yeah, using kitchen scissors resulted in my hair being 2-3 inches shorter than intended. But oh well! who doesn't love a good hair journey, right?

Thank you! Yes, a month ago it was short enough that it looked like a grown out pixie, but now it's good. But I am getting my first pro haircut in so long, I am nervous.
I have just cut my hair from elbow length to very short very much like yours but without the bangs, I really thought it might be too drastic but I am so glad I had it cut, I love the freedom and feeling of short hair now, dont know if I will ever want to go back to long hair again. I think everybody has the face for most haircuts if they are customized to your face/body shape and personality. But if it feels wrong it will look wrong. Go visit a wig shop and see what you like.

Hair can be fun, but it can possess me as well. I am actually truly hair obsessed. I am always watching haircutting videos here on TH-cam and learning about hair science....In another life, I had to have been a hairstylist or dermatologist or something. So, there will likely be a lot of hair related videos here...My next video is about hair product scams especially when it relates to hair loss and I provide other solutions that won't strain your wallet and are most likely to work.

Oh feeling this. I have been looking at wolf and mullet haircuts over the last month and was so so tempted to try it, even though I am an older woman. However I have tried it many years ago and it was the worst pain to style and never looked right! I think was also just a bad cut the way she did it based off of the next hairdresser I saw who said the only way to save it was to go short. Which I did. Thank you for this video you may have saved me. I am not one to fuss with my hair. You did the right thing constantly thinking about it is just too much. Peace.
I am glad this video helped! Ha ha! That mullet felt so awful, looking back on it, it didn’t look as bad as I thought, but you have to realize I didn’t get on camera until I felt it was somewhat tolerable, so that’s as good as it ever was. I had this fantasy that I was that cool girl, but I don’t have the wardrobe or the street scene lol! I live in a log cabin in the middle of the woods and I wear mostly bathing suits and boots 😂😂😂
Yeah… think carefully about the mullet. My hair is in a long bob now and I love it, no layers, looks fine no matter what. I am glad that I finally cut my super long hair though. I really like it shoulder length.

TH-cam just suggested your channel to me. My two cents about your DIY hair cuts, I think the shorter one came out better than the "mullet". I cut my own hair one time and messed it up badly so I don't cut it myself anymore. I go to a salon only 2X's a year for a 'long blunt cut' which is enough to keep it healthy & looking neat, it's still easy on the budget at about $140 total for the year including the tips {$60 for a women's hair cut}.I'm letting my long hair turn grey I don't dye it at all which also saves me money. You might want to check out a TH-camr 'Brad Mondo' he's a professional hair stylist & has some great DIY hair cut tutorials, if I were ever to try to cut my own hair again I would follow one of his tutorials.
I love Brad Mondo! I mean he just makes me feel good and he's so good with hair. The long mullet really didn't feel good to my fingers and honestly, I care more about how it feels than how it looks.Thanks for your comment.
I liked it long looks good short as well. Sometimes you got to have a change. I have brown and grey hair natural it took me 2 1/2 years to grow out. I just let mine grow lol. I get that feeling of chopping it. I chopped a bit off today not much just ends. I know if l go to the salon they want to make it really short cuz it's fine it really annoys me lol.
Thank you for your comment. I know exactly how you feel about going to the salon. I stopped going to the salon for 5 years because my last hairstylist was too attached to my pixie and she couldn't let it grow lol!
