My little brother has ADHD and my mom doesn't understand him,the first time I heard this I cried because it explains my brother so well. It explains how he doesn't need medication for it he's just different but in a good way,and what makes that so hard is my mom has him on medication and he believes he needs it,he has really low self esteem and he's only 11.I showed him this song and he loved it.I wish more people understood and accepted "ADHD".

Personally I think the reason why he does the hook/chorus so slow and dragged out is to emphasize those words and slow down your thinking. He's so smart when it comes to throwing things in like that. Like in the intro he doesn't finish his sentence at first and kind of mumbles and then he comes back and finishes what he was saying but it's a perfect example of constantly getting distracted. 🤯

I just finished my early childhood development and introduction to exceptionalities college courses, and so ADHD was a huge topic. I love how this track describes it and spreads awareness of it (I guess, if that makes sense). Especially coming from someone who actually has it. Never heard of this artist before because I live under a rock so this was a pleasant surprise as well.

Being an high functioning autistic adult i spent a huge amount of my childhood being tested. never knowing whats wrong with me . being prescribed a plethora of drugs. i feel the struggle of not being able to be yourself. i finally have learnt to be me and hearing people like Joyner is an inspiration to never be pushed down. To love myself again .

I always felt like me being ADHD was more of a curse than a gift, but eventually i accepted that i can't be changed. i'm unique and different in my own way. it's like when I'm writing songs and i think of the right lyrics, i gotta write them down immediately so i don't forget them. my mind is like a train. it never stops. it stays awake.

I recently found this song a few weeks ago. I don’t have ADHD myself but my roommate, who is also my best friend, does. He doesn’t take meds and refuses to do so, also. Ultimately I wouldn’t change a thing about him. I have schizophrenia myself and this song inspired me to write something similar but as a schizophrenic. At the end of the day we were born the way we are to impact the world the best we can with the talents we were given. Great video man, I like how you’ll listen to the lyrics and react to that, and try to understand what they’re saying so you can understand the impact and weight of the bar. You just gained a subscriber. From someone who has ADHD and can really relate to this video and his lyrics, your analysis is very spot on for the most part. Especially when you mentioned that every convo revolves around medication. You constantly feel like you’re being silenced, and no one wants you to be who you truly are, yes medication does help. Any person with some type of condition doesn’t want them to be treated as if the condition defines them. When people constantly center about the condition it in a way is dehumanizing because no one wants to know the individual but only the condition. That’s how I feel sometimes but maybe I’m way too analytical

The thing with the meds is they are great for day to day tasks and being more organized but they severely hamper your creativity and imagination... It's a balance but nobody explains this to you and it differs from person to person... A guy like Joyner needs that creativity where is I need the organization so while or splits might both be 70/30 they are opposite... It took me years to figure this out and get a handle on it and we're very misunderstood so seeking help is not easy and almost shameful...

Pretty sick that he's showing how people forcing their perceptions/beliefs on him stifles and ultimately kills what makes him an artist. Anyways, keep doing what you're doing.
