    This might be the most honest and interesting channel on youtube.

    A 20x objective is very nice for 'pond water'. That is an 'upgrade' well worth considering if it is available for your scope.

    yes; it is possible to obtain and add a mechanical stage; I got mine at Amscope. I have added this to several of my older scopes. It is important to know the mounting hole mm spacing on the stage; there are two sizes; it is well worth adding. They also have a nice mechanical stage for stereo scopes.

    Hello! Shaking out my childhood microscope, I concluded that I was buying a new one (SW380B) because the price had become very affordable and its performance was hitting the bar! :) I'm sorry I can't speak English, but I'm trying to communicate .... Great videos, I have something to testify! Thank you and greetings! :)

      I have purchased an SW380t (has photo tube). I can attest to its quality and features for the price($308 thru Amazon) except, that 'out of the box' it had a slight vignetting problem in the 'field of view' due to the optical alignment of the objective was slightly off and the condenser was not centered. Both were simple adjustments and when corrected, provided a nice clear field of view. I recently added a Hayear digital camera; a real nice setup, for what I consider a comparatively economical cost; I am very pleased with it!!!!...

    I have a Glab optics microscope.
    It is a very good microscope.
    It has a...
    Fine focus knob
    Coarse focus knob
    Condenser
    Adjustable light source
    And I am so happy with that......

    I saw a discussion on the microbe hunter forum regarding dark field and the 380T. Someone said you need a different dark field condenser to get good quality images. Is that true, or is good quality dark field possible on the 380T?

    • @MicrobehunterMicroscopy
      @MicrobehunterMicroscopy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Generally a normal dark field filter will do fine. The dark field condensers might be useful for the higher magnifications as well, but I have always obtained good results with the filter alone.

    You can insert a mechanical stage by counting the screws on the stage and search for a mechanical stage with same num of holes

    I have a small inverted microscope I tried making a oblique illumination filter I put it in the filter holder but it did not work. please let me know how I could fix this or explain how to make oblique illumination filter.

    • @MicrobehunterMicroscopy
      @MicrobehunterMicroscopy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Try to get regular darkfield first. Then if this works try to move the darkfield filter towards the side (de-center it). Oblique works best with 10x and 40x objective, not with 4x, because you will see half of the filed of view dark and the other half bright.

    Are there DRY 100x objectives out there?

    If you're sure you are going to get serious about your new hobby then the best time to buy a better microscope is when you buy your first one.

    • @alexandrevaliquette3883

      Today, you can buy a great quality scope around 200-400$ Canadian.
      At this price range and quality, I agree with you. Back in the day, to get the same quality, you had to invest 10 times more. The commitment was a bit steeper.
