      Although I also adore the game, I was let down by its lack of support and substance as well as the makers' lack of interaction with the community. It was the one game that had enormous potential but didn't fully realize it.

      7:52 truest thing about Ubisoft, especially after I stopped enjoying R6S with the balance passes they were making. The Division as a concept to me is just cool as hell.

      Same. I'm actually pretty excited to hear that they fixed it. I've been playing the division since the first one dropped in 2016. I still hop on there from time to time to play Survival mode and troll other players in the DZ with my 10k Stamina nomad.

    As a guy who's still playing, and has been with the Division franchise ever since TD1, the community is still thriving. Especially since Massive has been able to actually allocate more resources and time to the development of post-launch content. I mean, we're on Year 6 now, getting a DLC in the next season, the endgame has been revamped, the seasonal model was revamped this season, and there are still TH-camrs I know of that still make Div2 content every single week: build guides, dev news breakdowns, etc. If you stopped playing because of the crashes, I'd suggest logging in and give it another try. I love this game, and I love seeing Thor talk about it. Plus, Massive has been MUCH more responsive to audience reactions. For example, they were originally going to introduce "seasonal characters" to this new season model, having you start a new character for each season. Fans hated the idea of leaving their original character behind, so Massive scrapped the idea entirely.

    • @h3rmesactual
      @h3rmesactual 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +17

      AND they just released TODAY a new weapon as part of a Veteran Reward Program, granting everyone access to a fully automatic LVOA-C (The LVOA was a fully automatic rifle in TD1 but they changed it to a semi-automatic rifle in TD2). And they granted skins (bronze, silver, gold) based on how long you've been playing the Division and Division 2.

    • @h3rmesactual
      @h3rmesactual 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +9

      @@local9 Well, the game has a lot more content now. 2 raids, and incursion, multiple different game modes, including a new Roguelike mode called Descent, different progression systems such as Expertise and Proficiency. There's a seasonal mode that unlocks more story content as you progress through each season. And you can revisit the past season climax missions to grab their collectibles and get a grasp on where the story has gone since the end of the main campaign.

      @@h3rmesactual ugh....the game is still dead compared to how it was before the bug. And Ubisoft is trying everything to get back their lost players.

    • @h3rmesactual
      @h3rmesactual 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +8

      @@blahblah8372 You're right, the game is still struggling heavily to come back from all the bullshit the fans had to go through. A ton of people left and not a lot came back. But that doesn't change the fact that it's not a dead game. I still play whenever I can, I have no problems matchmaking for games, and again, there are still a solid number of content creators who make videos for The Division. Granted, not as big as COD or Destiny, but it's still a community nonetheless. I agree it sucks how much shit Ubisoft has done, but Massive Entertainment is at least making some good steps with this franchise and like Thor pointed out, the numbers have grown on Steam since they've begun fixing the game and adding more content.

  • @amharbingerreactions
    @amharbingerreactions 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +116

    Conspiracy theory but it seems that crash bug was during the time a lot of veteran Ubisoft employees left the company. There were reports that the people working at the company were attempting to contact veteran staff that left for issues they couldn't resolve. You can even see that with AC Shadows of how unpolish the game looks with poor terrain alignment and NPCs sliding in the trailers they posted. Could've been that no one knew how to fix it.

I never really appreciated Division 2 until recently when ( after 1,000's of hours ) I finally came to realise Destiny was not only on a steady decline since sunsetting but it's trajectory now was a swan dive past the point of no return.
    Division 2 is a beautiful game. Returning and New players are separated from "veteran" players until they reach a certain level. Giving you more than enough time to create your character, fine tune your build and become familiar with the game mechanics. It's a lot of fun.

    I have 379 hours into the steam version currently and I highly recommend it. It's has been stable for most of my game time. The gunplay is satisfying, the leveling/story progression feel's good, the ambience/scenery is immersive and then there's the amazing soundtrack composed by Ola Strandh which really brings it altogether. I even play the soundtrack at the gym or at work. I'll admit, it's hard to keep track of all the character's roles in the story, but you do understand your role and the bigger picture. (For additional lore, I go to NGN's channel).
    Currently me and my GF covered most of the content on global difficulty: heroic. We now just roam the city, finishing random events, bounties, collecting audio logs, to even escorting friendly supply convoys while they mourn about losing the convivences of their past life before the outbreak.

Remember getting the Ravenous on my first raid clear in 2 and i was so psyched! 100's of hours just playing around with different loadouts trying to get the perfect pieces, collecting exotics, Underground and trying to push Resistance solo to collect set items in 1, the games were grindy as hell before you could re-roll stats and i loved it! I really wanted go in again after this video, but just found out it does not support cross-save.. And being the absolute loot goblin that i am, i really don't want to start all over again

    I’ve been a TD2 player since Y1S2 and it still stands as one of my top 5 favorite games. The build crafting depth is so much fun to mess around with and it’s so user friendly. 10/10 would recommend, even more so now that the dlc isn’t required to reach endgame.

    I have played many RPG looter shooters over the years and yet none of them have kept me invested for as long as The Division 1 and 2. The atmosphere is goated, the gunplay is addicting and I always found it interesting how they managed to make an RPG take place in a contemporary/relatable setting and make it work.
    Instead of swords, bows and wands you get different archetypes of guns
    Instead of magical spells you get skills like turrets, shields and drones
    And Instead of potions you get consumables like armor kits and special ammo for your gun.
    Is the game unrealistic? Absolutely, just look at some of the raid and manhunt bosses. They ain't trying to hide it lol. but once you understand that this game isn't trying to be realistic shooter and treat it like an RPG with guns you're likely gonna have alot more fun with it.

    I've been playing Division 2 for a couple years now, maybe three, and I've logged around 1700 hours in that time. While it can't hold my interest *perpetually*, I have come back to the game multiple times and immediately started having fun again. Regardless, I play every Friday night with family, and that is always a fun time.
    Making new builds in this game is *great*. Umbra+Fox+Centurion is my current favorite by a big margin, it makes my guns shoot absurdly fast and is a really comfy setup. The UIC15 MOD2 is my *baby*, but there's a Rifle sound bug in co-op, so for the sake of my teammates' ears, I run a Measured Lexington. A lovely gun. It's raised from 850 RPM to 1300 RPM+. Complemented by an Iron Lung LMG. I love this build so much lol.

    There were not only crashing issues but also old bugs that were not fixed, for example, the screen would suddenly go dark. When exiting the settlement head room we can't walk if we skip it by pressing the f key. Turrets that suddenly crash. Drones that cannot be controlled. And there are many other bugs in the division 2

    Early this year I played through the game with three other friends, I like many years prior just had no issues running this game, ran flawlessly for me almost no crashes or graphical bugs. But all three of my friends would run into graphical bugs all the time, two of them had more powerful PCs one had a less powerful one like it didn't make any sense. It was maddening for me because the game has and was always running smoothly for me with no issues. I consider myself to be one of the very lucky few that never experienced any issues playing Divison 2 as I know it was exceedingly rare.

    This also happened with Blacklight Retribution several years ago, you would get booted after an hour if you were level 30+, and then you couldn't login. It went on for a good 3 years. They eventually fixed the issue (and removed Australian servers) but the game slowly dwindled and died in 2019.

    I was a launch player and this issue absolutely drove me away for a long time. I've started playing again and really enjoy it; there's nothing quite like The Division when it comes to atmosphere and realistic setting details. They very nearly dropped the ball yet again with Seasons 2.0, though--Washington D.C. was stable, but players were getting disconnected constantly on the NYC map, like every 5-20 minutes. Thankfully they were able to fix the issue pretty quickly this time, and the game is overall very stable these days.

  • @lncoming
    @lncoming 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    There was also an issue on PC where Easy AntiCheat would think OBS was a cheat client, and would softlock your game, if you didn't have the game open for about 15-20 minutes PRIOR to opening OBS. It absolutely CRUSHED content from PC players, forcing people to either stream the game on console, or play different games (like Destiny 2). Combined with the otherwise-happening crashes, and basically no content creation from PC players, made nearly all PC players leave for a long time. This was something Massive could do nothing about, since it was an EAC problem, and they had no way of changing it. It took about 4-6 months for them to get the EAC team to fix it, which was definitely far from good.
    The other issue was the complete radio-silence, due to Ubisoft moving the Massive development team to the Avatar game (which turned out great).
    The development team went from like 300 to 40ish (which took a while for them to tell us), who were left responsible with-
    1. Trying to revive a story that was left in a cut-off-head state, in terms of where it was progressed to.
    2. Trying to update a game that was left in a nailed-coffin state, where it was never meant to be changed again.
    3. Appeasing a terminally-pissed-off community due to the radio silence the development team had no choice over.
    4. The impossible demands of parts of the community, who expect the same content the team made when it was 8-10x larger.
    The game is still a blast, but that's kind of a problem. People love the game so much, they will willing play exclusively it, but then get burnt out super quick, since development can't keep up with their demands. It's kind of what happened to Helldiver's 2 initially, where they had to hire more people to make new stuff, since the demand was there. It's definitely still a ton of fun, and EXTREMELY fun in a squad of players together, but it just got mismanaged for so long, that it was suffocated.
    100% worth trying it out again. 1 0 0 %.
    Alternatively play through the first game again, since it's a masterpiece, and since there's still a pretty dedicated playerbase there EVERY DAY.

    What did i miss here? I still keep playing this game since the release and i am right now the only one in our group who keeps actively playing it and i never experienced this type of bug myself. But maybe this explains why i got rarely other players through the search for missions. I was wondering why most of the times i could run the search for over a hour and nobody would join. Hopefully my buddy gets finally his first pc setup so we can finally play this great game together. To this day i'm still discovering new ways to play this game with different loadouts or approaches on gameplay.

      Part of me feels like the game’s in need of a crossplay system. I migrated from PS4 to PC some time ago. I always had a Main Mission or two to do on work nights, queue near-instant on PS4. Now it’s hit-or-miss, especially on choosing a specific mission. What’s worse, it seems that the queue prioritizes ongoing missions rather than goobers like me waiting at the “start gate” of the mission with a sniper build, so you have to “force” up the queue by starting the mission first and hoping people join. A small annoyance but still there.
