Is it possible to have a sensor paired to both HA and the Ring hub (to use it to trigger the Ring alarm, etc)? Or does the sensor only pair to one "master" device?
Unfortunately the sensor can only be paired with one ZWave receiver. Fortunately, you can use an integration in Home Assistant to connect to your Ring account using MQTT to read data off of it and have it work in Home Assistant :).
Thanks for the comment! I had 53 devices on Smart things. I moved most of them over to home assistant. Half of them were Zigbee devices and the other half was for ZWave devices. Changing them was pretty easy surprisingly. Just took time going to each device, resetting/unpairing, then pairing it back to the new receivers. I still have to use Smart things for my wifi smart plugs until it can run on Home Assistant natively. The devices definitely react a lot faster for me since it's not going to the cloud any more.
@@cornellrw Hello! I'm using the Home Assistant Z-Wave integration to run all my Z-Wave devices locally. Really easy to setup, just install the integration and plug in your Z-Wave Receiver and you're good to go! Link is : www.home-assistant.io/integrations/zwave_js/.
@@shrimpinpat by advanced they just mean you have do a few extra steps to set it up then you normally would if you bought an off the shelf solution like smart things or hubitat.

Great video. How many Z-Wave devices do you have connected to your smart things?

Hey I saw on the Amazon listing for this it says something about only for advanced users? But this seemed pretty not bad?
