    Claymores and customs sounds like pain.... You have to cross one of three avenues, and half the map spawns at your extract. It promotes moving slower, but everything in the game put you on a crunch.

      @@captaincheesepuffs610 this isn’t call of duty, just because something benefits a playstyle that the devs don’t like doesn’t mean they can’t add them.
      BSG can and will add every facet of modern urban combat, that’s part of the core promise of the game. The key here lies in the original statement, Nikita wants to ENCOURAGE active fighting, not FORCE active fighting.
      You can encourage active fighting in plenty of ways besides just refusing to follow one of your core guiding principles, such as widening plate hitboxes and adding player karma as they are doing.

      @@OryXity he’s encouraging blind players to open their eyes perhaps, maybe giving flashlights a use other than blinding your enemies. You’re now encouraged to check doors and rooms more carefully instead of the run and gun peaker’s advantage convention it is at times. You can disable and disarm all the traps he’s adding, so all Nikita is doing is discouraging overactive fighting if anything. He wants you to move through the map, not what chads are doing right now, this is his way of adding a stop sign.

    I still think the best way to "fix" the armor system is to add vital organ hitboxes. It just doesn't make sense to have this complicated armor system while leaving the health system simplistic. There is a reason why armor plates are designed like that in real life you know, it's to protect your vital organs.

I don't really care either way, what I'm saying is they should've either left the armor system untoutched because truth be told it was completely fine the way it was, or went all the way towards "realism" and also changed the health system. Because overcomplicating one without doing the same thing for the other just doesn't make sense, not from a realism perspective and also definitely not from a game ballance perspective.

      @@antonellostasi Yes that is what I'm saying, old armor system before hitboxes was good. But what I'm saying now is the only way to make this new armor system actually make sense from both a realism and game ballance perspective is to introduce vital hitboxes. Think about it, currently in Tarkov getting shot in my collarbone or wherever else does the same amount of damage as getting shot straight through the heart, so basically in Tarkov your whole body acts like your heart, it makes no sense to have these small plate hitboxes that are supposed to be made specifically to cover your heart when your whole body acts like your heart...

      @@mikedebakker5820 plus, neck protection goes up to level 3 only, so every low tier ammunition will instantly go through it.
      If I had to chose, I would go back to the old system, since it was perfectly fine, and you could very much feel the difference between a tier 5 and a tier 6. I remember using gzhel back to back cause they were perfect for their price and level of protection. Now I die with 2 M882 in thorax while wearing class 6 plates.
      The problem with a system more similar to DayZ or GWZ with a health pool is that it would require a huge amount of time for a rework, as much as I'd like to see them experimenting with it, it would be way easier to roll back to a previous state of the patch for what it concerns armor

    what made me realize just now is how SHIT bsg is at giving info on the changes,
    they literally will just say "armor plate hitboxes are now bigger" in the patch changes, and gigabeef or airwingmarine will be expected by the community to go and test just how big they became,
    bsg can't just post a wireframe blender model or something to see how big the hitboxes are now vs before.
    it's so frustrating

      They didn't have to, when they made plates cover only what they physically cover, because if you look at your character model, you can see where the plate covers.
      Wipe is in 2 months, so we probably haven't seen a demonstration, because it's not ready.

      But at the same time do you expect from other games you play to break down all their collision and hit boxes down to the wire frame just so you can have that knowledge.
      I think it's completely unfair to expect any game company that any time they make a change for them to visualize it for you just because.

      Wait until you realize that players are all supposed to be testing all the in game systems but bsg refuses to tell us how things are suposed to work and since they dont play their own game bugs go unaddressed for years (as in not dying when your torso or head health reaches zero).

      If your head or torso bleeds to 0 that wont kill as the only way to die from bleeding is overall health reaching 0, so it starts damaging other parts.
      pretty sure it's intended to work that way.

    I was thinking they could add options for your next raid in map to map travel. Like you could have the option to "wait for rumours of [boss]" which gives the boss 100% spawn rate. Or like "wait until its quiet" where the raid has less PMCs or even no PMCs, bad loot, but ideal for tasking

    Getting one tap thoraxed by scavs using 762x39 hp or 5.45 ps is just so unfun and honestly makes me avoid scavs in certain wooded areas where they will shoot straight through bushes and stuff , if it was head ,eyes or something I would get it but a lot of the time if feels like armor is usless . Even my friends have been one tapped by m856 , thorax from pmcs . I hope the revised armor update improves over all combat

      Died to a PMC the other day from a single armpit hitbox shot. Was wearing an osprey, looking him dead in the face, and got several shots in on him too. But nope, he hit the very exterior of my thorax once and I die immediately. So damn annoying.

      I die all the time to raiders or scavs from two shots to the thorax when they're using PS ammo. Even though I'm using class 5 plates... It's frustrating to get two tapped by trash ammo when you have a half million rouble defensive measure in place.

    I do like with how they're changing player scavs to load into random areas with low karma basically enforces the idea of learning the maps to succeed, but I believe the scav karma needed to be able to choose your location should be 4, not 6 since some people won't go so far to max out karma whereas something around 3 or 4 karma can be obtained naturally as you play.
    And they should at least include a list where you can omit 2 locations that you don't want to be spawned in in the event that your pc just can't run streets or lighthouse all too well.
    As for mines, I think they'll limit it to where you can only have one mine in your pmc inventory at a time and it takes up a good amount of space. Player set landmines are a bit stupid but forcing a limit in your inventory and having it take up a ton of space may make it not an attractive thing for campers to set up.

    Mines are a difficult subject in Tarkov for me. I see most real life implementations of mines as completely irrelevant to a shooter of this genre.
    Mine usage in warfare is strategic, for the most part. Large armed forces use them to not "sneakily assasinate" enemy combatants, they are used to make use of a particular area so dangerous and clearing the danger so troublesome so as to nullify that areas use as a combat zone and practically removing a flank from the map.
    While the Russian military uses mines HEAVILY, it does so exceedingly on the strategic level. Smaller formations might protect their rear with temporary AT mines while rearming/in a protective formation, but again: these mines are almost never fully concealed with effort, as concealing mines under concrete is a lot of work, and most mines regular troops have access to wont detonate without pressure being directly applied to the mine trigger). Again, these mines are always anti-vehicle, used as a deterrant/surprise roadblock, and aren't relied upon to destroy the enemy.
    Anti-infantry mines aren't relevant on a tactical level. In a video game, where fidelity isn't high enough for us to both devise and differentiate man made traps in the digital environment, they act as little more than invisible explosive nuisances, with no rewarding tactical use and counter-play that feels sensible. In real life you can easily spot mines in an urban environment, and for most purposes passive mines will be indicated with tape/spray paint/cones once spotted, because no matter which side you are on: marking mines doesn't make them less effective at their job. Nobody can use that area.
    Active mines (claymores specifically) are more of an insurgency and counter-counter-intelligence tool, and are useful at taking out/severely slowing down UNITS of infantry that you KNOW will be passing by along a route you have reconnoitered. With how Tarkov raids operate, there is far too much randomness and much too little linear story-telling and intelligence gathering to justify the planned use of claymores. Your PMC wouldn't have a situation in which they load up for a raid to get supplies, and "for tactical reasons" sets up a Claymore while wandering around the city. You might have multiple set up in well thought-out spots around your hideout, in places which you could still access once your first alarms go off. In raid? Irrelevant, with how quick and balls to the wall gameplay is.
    TLDR mines and even actively monitored claymores are strategic warfare tools, and even when used on the tactical level, would only makes sense as part of days long operations, not 15-45 minute urban excurcions.
    Hell, just disguising your claymore and its tripwire/trigger cord would take you half the time of your average raid. Then you'd sit in a bush for two days waiting for your prey, which you would have had to have prior intelligence about.
    Rural foot-patrol recconnaisance nerd signing off. Sorry for the rant.
    E: setting up actively monitored claymores or planting passive AT mines could be done as tasks, however, even if their usage as a PVP implement is beyond stupid as an idea. This could have been done ages ago with how the [S] items work in-game already, so it's not something BSG needed new trap mechanics for.

      I would bet money that you did 10x the work that BSG did, thinking through all of this.
      We don't really need more ammo and MORE weapons and MORE armor. We need the fucking game to work properly. To not lag. To not have shitty as hell netcode. To have properly implemented hitboxes. All things BSG is incapable of doing (because if they weren't, we'd have all those things right from the start).
      It's clear to me, that BSG has no clue and that they're turning in circles. I wouldn't expect ANYTHING good from them, anymore.

    Honestly if they want to fix the bought from trader flipping if it does turn out to be such an issue, add a bought from trader status on a purchased item that only goes away after entering a raid with it, so it can’t be flipped and even if someone else kills the person who has it, they’ll be able to sell it like any other raid obtained item.

      Had an "emotional discussion" with a guy about this. Everything was expensive AF on the flea. 40 round mp7 mags, some odd suppressors, scopes. Non Fir is definitely a good thing imo

    i started this wipe, a month or so ago. I've tanked 10 shots from a scav using a thor and was one hit by flechette wearing an osprey and maska because one pellet hit my armpit. armor feels absolutely useless.

    I like the variable zoom for the LPVOs because it gives it more versatility, while also debuffing it. You can't just instantly flick back to 1x, it's going to take time to zoom in or out.

    Map to Map travel has huge potential, if implemented well. It would for example allow you to have many, many extraction zones but only a few leading back the the hideout. That would mean, that extract camping becomes much less powerful, since there are many more exits PMCs could take from the map. Then they wouldn't need stupid PMC karma that seems to be a system shoehorned in to push a more active play style, since camping is now the only totally silent method of fighting.
    In total, BSG doesn't really seem to understand their own systems. Armor plates covering nearly the entire thorax reduces the issue with the armor system, but instead of having a good armor you now just want a good plate - and you still have major problems if they don't cover the entire thorax front since now bullets that barely clip you are lethal while full hits don't pen.

      I would argue that it would make extract camping more of an issue, as instead of camping a zone exfil they can just camp the ones that lead back to the hideout. I'm thinking in line of EVE Online, I don't need to camp every exit out of a system, I just need to camp the one that leads back to the shops.

      @@nijiru4448 Well.. I was working under the assumption that the current number of exfil points leading back to the hide out is kept and additional ones are created. If even just 30% of players visit another map before extracting for good, then your exfil camping traffic has just gotten 30% lower.

      @@nijiru4448 While in theory it is true, there are exfils that are notoriously easy to camp and exfils that are hard to control well. I have been camped at D2 or Shorline's Tunnel way more often than at Outskirts or Sewer River. So people would gravitate more to exfils that are safer, reducing D2 traffic.

    I honestly think a complete medical and health system overhaul that makes it like Gray Zone Warfare would make stuff overall a little nicer, Gray Zone does currently have some issues with it and are actively being worked on and I have very little hope that BSG could pull off doing what they did regarding that system but would be a welcome surprise if it ever did/does happen

    I'd love to have the Power button for generator ON/OFF, available onscreen without having to open hideout. It eats performance as much as bouncing from map to map without clearing cache. This would be a handy QoL feature.

    I'm hoping that BSG chooses to add mines that aren't instantly lethal, like toe poppers, or just nerf their effect so that they black limbs but don't instantly kill, sorta like the border mines. It'd be less toxic and give some amount of counter play. I'd also just like to see sound traps, something you can deploy that causes anyone to walk through that area to make noise, whether it's broken glass you can spread somewhere or a motion sensor alarm. Sound traps like that would fit way better and could be more common

      Also anything that would do more damage/have a wider range of effect should be manually triggered, like claymores. IRL they have the option to use a trip wire but if they have the potential to one shot they should be manually detonated.

    I like current armour system. It’s fair that you have only a chance to survive a shot, not a full thorax protection. Maybe just buff heavy armour to level 4 and tweak scav ai to shoot mostly in the plates.
    But I really love how pvp and rounds balance feels

    I had trouble playing PvE before TarkovTV, to a point where I wasn't playing it, and pretty much immediately after Tarkvo TV, I started reliably matching in under 10 seconds in solo and Coop on Ground Zero, and in under a minute on Woods.

      locally hosted means it would be instant, if you play sptarkov you will load into a match literally the second you hit enter raid

    Excluding maps that you deem you can't run can be easily abused by excluding all maps except for the map that you WANT to run. If that system was implemented, you should only be able to exclude Streets and LH IMO.

    Flipping things is why I believe we should move away from the found in raid system and move to an earned in raid system if you extract with stuff it will be marked earned and can be turned into traders for quests, anything in your secure will be marked earned if you die(so you can still sell on flea) but stuff bought from traders can’t be resold onto the market they will get the bought tag, they can only be sold on the flea if someone were to go into raid, die and someone else pick it up, it does not get marked earned if brought out by teammates. This way you can sell stuff that you got from killing pmcs but it prevents people from instantly flipping stuff, also this could prevent rmt a little bit idk though.

    I don't like the mines thing at all and especially the mount mechanic on walls as it incentivise people to camp even more. I love the tactical gameplay but camping for better recoil is too much. Crouching and proning already reduces your recoil

    8:16 I'm anxious whether it will lower the performance significantly (like SPT) or they will somehow manage to optimize it. My most memorable experience from playing SPT last year was constant drop of frames whenever something spawned on the map or AI made a move. Tarkov hosted locally on PC was so rough performance-wise that I sadly had to give up on playing it.

    I remember when the slick and the hex were actually viable options for armor, I'm glad they changed it but it can be annoying when you die to an armpit or neck shot. Tagilla has become easier to fight though.

    Also with the Scav change, scavs have always been the new player pick me up. Forceing them to play on a map they are unfamiliar with, and lose that kit that they needed to actually be able to play on their PMC with is a terrible change for them. And theres not even a buff for more experienced players to justify using them. It just makes it hard for newbies who need the crutch, and I still cant do my quests on them so why would I ever touch them? Really bad system if it ships as it appears

      They don’t need that. Maybe two thorax hit boxes titled “Chest Cavity” (or just Thorax) and “Vitals.” Former has like 110 hit points before death and the latter has like 70ish.

      I agree and disagree with you on that. I can understand what your thinking is because if everyone can use these it will be hell. But also you have to consider the fact that how much of the player base actually gets to LK? Not very many. I don't know exact numbers but I'd say % wise is very small. Maybe they make it a craft? Trip wire idea, Like a bunch of wires, a grenade(s) and some other stuff. A makeshift one that has a chance to fail? Since it isn't military issued it's an IED

    I'm still waiting and hoping for being able to revive and heal your teammates. it shouldn't be quick or easy to do, but it would be a good QoL change because you can keep playing with your friend as compared to someone dying and waiting in the lobby waiting.

    Reselling trader items gives a big bonus to a lot of people who can't make money or who need some quick cash, plus it's helpful for people doing gunsmith who might not be able to do the parts barters. More stuff on the flea makes it cheaper.

    btw the smooth zoom- would work only with scopes that do that. eg. Elcan Spectre only has 1x and 4x in real life. but its smooth im guessing is you will actually see the glass casing flick into the scope, not an instant zoom.
    Vudu will be able to go from 1-6x and everything inbetween

    what if for map to map travel you got a exp bonus for every map u get past without dyeing . and after each map you can choose to go back to stash or go to the next map . but if you die you lose all the exp bonus . and you get all the exp from all the maps when you go back to stash .

    I like the idea of scavs having a random map pool instead of hand picking it, but they could make a map ban system that scaled with fence rep. Start with a base of 2 bans so you can remove streets and lighthouse if you want to, then gain additional bans at fence rep milestones until you can ban all but one map at max rep.

      A better solution I think, would be to give bonus or debuff for using 'random' vs picked. Maybe picking maps decreases scav karma, while random doesn't decrease or increase. I can run Streets, but my two buddies that I play with cannot, especially when it rains. They said performance increases will be coming to all maps, so maybe more people will be able to play Streets/Ground Zero than before, in whichcase they could just go full random.

    It always seems like no matter what armor I use Scavs and Raiders/bosses always hit an area where I'm not covered with every shot. For example, Kollontay killed me the other day with multiple shots to my RIGHT FOREARM with a 9x18 weapon. There's a pattern here. 9/10 we are being shot where we don't have armor, like the AI is detecting that, and it's incredibly stupid.

    Top feature: killcam. It's a reason why me and several friends stopped playing pvp version of the game.

    I dont think armor is problem and the hitboxes of plates. i think issue is with mostly scav Accuracy and how they shoot.. i did some test and was walking altyn/rys of vulkan and crappy vest like cpc with not much cover.. scav almost none of times shoot me in the head..its like they system know 'i have sp ammo cannot penetrate lvl5/lvl6' so scav was waiting I show my chest and usually start shooting in that area of throat, armpit. Also it is retarded scavs target armpit if you are in front of them its like bullets make turn in Wanted movie.. There are ofc things like bosses which beaming abilites are more retarded.. Birdeye always aim for top of the head...(i got like 6 straight concussions in a row during event) I noticed killa always beams your chest.. and having him most of times igolnik shreds your armor even with lvl6. so Yea until they implement some kind of recoil to scavs and boses, so shots will be more random than just beaming abilities to weakspots.

      I like the concept of random scav maps, but it also comes with a large side effect. Not everyone can run Streets. I can run Streets fairly well with my 7900XTX with 24GB of vram, but my two buddies with their 3070s and 8gb vram cannot.

    Unless claymores and other traps are rare to obtain, or hard to obtain, it’ll be THE most aids feature. Any high tier area will just be riddled with traps throughout doorways/bottleneck ways. Imagine also trying to disarm a trap, with a long animation, whoever is camping the other side will have enough time to kill you, lmao. I just don’t see how this feature will work unless it’s utterly rare and costly, like grenade launchers. Just sounds annoying to deal with.

    i think it would be perfect if they would just take the old and new armor system combined. divide the thorax in 2 parts just in the middle. front and back. if you have plates it works like soft armor covering the whole area. no armpit. you could do 4 parts and add side plates that cover everything on the side (armpit too!) but thats optional. then just keep the softarmor for throat, arms and balls, adjust thorax and back to match with plate boxes and you are done. full cover of thorax and back with plates and softarmor so no armpit BS or kedr bois 2 shotting you through your zabralo in the thorax, no worries about running sideways or anything. atm i am using a lot of .366 AP because its insanely effective against any armor. or .338 even the cheaper rounds

    Reselling and flipping is not detrimental at all, it allows low level players to access stuff for much cheaper price from resellers compared to FIR only system prices and it also allows high level players to have some profit from it. Win-win situation if you ask me.
    FIR was a huge pain in the ass in earlier wipes for me personally and I just left last wipe at lvl 17.

    The claymores are just going to slow the game down even more and the super sweats are going to complain about it. I'll be setting up claymores on stairs and hanging out on the ground floor waiting for people to come in and when I shoot at them they'll run for the stairs not thinking and die. Or putting them into rooms in dorms that players will almost always immediately run into for cover. Or on the safe pathways in woods to avoid mines in certain places. Imagine D2 camping now.

      SPT modders don't have to accommodate and synchronize the pings of various people to make it more fair... cause its single player, and even on the co-op there isnt a competitive need for desynch management. Tarkov's desynch is already horrible, I would imagine given the way that Unity layers its levels that each zoom level is a layer that needs to be loaded and could exacerbate that issue. I will say BSG makes mountains out of molehills when it comes to development, but lets not compare SPT to a synchronized competitive shooter... its unnecessary to make the point and tacky because it encourages everyone to draw parallels with no knowledge.

    A solution for hatchet run players when found in raid is disabled.
    What if they made it if you entered a raid only with a knife, is ok BUT if you die (after the death only) you will have an efect on you called (PTSD) and it will have some negative effect until you fix it.
    Fixing it (the negative effect) will cost a stim that is available on therapist LV.1 and it will be 40K-100K to buy it.
    This will make it so whoever does a hatchet run, it will be for a challenge, and not to make easy money,,,,

    I have literally no issues with the current armor system... People are back to eating bullets, I can survive getting hit a couple times and still get to cover... I can hit someone 2-3 times in the torso with m62 and they keep on running..

    Not a big fan of kill cams….if you are sniping a team, the rest will know exactly where you are after the first kill. In most cases you would rotate but sometimes there is no reason because they don’t know where you are.

      What sucks is that they made a lot of higher penetration bullets more difficult to unlock on the current wipe due to the new armor hitbox system, because it made easier for us to hit the sides of the chest of enemies with weaker bullets and still deal full damage, but now they are increasing the size of armor hitboxes and I don't think they will make any changes to how bullets are unlocked.
      With early wipe bullets becoming worse when compared to Tarkov 0.14 and the removal of the FIR system even for items purchased from traders or the flea market, there will be no point in using those bullets anymore so the meta will be to rush to level 15 and start using all the high penetration ammo sold by the no-life gigachads who unlocked them early. Players shouldn't be able to be consistently running AVTs with 7.62x54 PS rounds as soon as they reach level 26, but thanks to the changes in Tarkov 0.15 that's exactly what will happen.

    Idk what people are talking about when it comes to armor I notice the difference between plates all the time many players just get headtapped frequently from inexperience so armor doesn't matter to them regardless if they change it or not. I liked the implementation of realistic damage models as I thought before it felt like just the armor just protects everything on your body.

      Realistic damage models for armour coverage are nice and people do appreciate the attention to detail, but there's nothing realistic about a grazing shot to the axilla or sterno threading the needle through your armour and causing immediate catastrophic existence failure. If they really wanted to go full bore into realism, they'd implement proper vital areas to complement the armour rework. Right now it just feels half-assed.

    Flipping is fine. Enforces market equilibrium, and requires that trader prices be reasonable, and provides good market liquidity.

    SPEAR 6.7 vs SA-58 Comparison When? I still believe that regardless of the recoil and accuracy the SA-58 is a better pick than the SPEAR for a multitude of reasons, which I have stated in previous comments.

    I'm sad that BSG seem to be removing survival aspects of the game rather than making them more central. IMO, they should remove the flea market rather than removing FIR.

    I hate the scav map change. As a newb on this wipe the ability to learn a map at a time and just scav that map gave me a way in to make some money. Being forced to scav all maps would make scavving much harder
    Mines are also extremely annoying bit currently you can learn to avoid them. Player laid mines will just be the worst .

    Question regarding scaving.
    Did BSG specifically say you would need MAX scav karma to choose the map you scav on?
    I had heard it was just "high/higher" scav karma to choose your map. Like maybe at 2.0 scav rep you could choose or something like that, just as an example

    about pmc karma... why not lose it if u kill another pmc of your own factions. another thing, ghillie suits... if there are going to be claymores and such, why not ghillie suits.
