    Excellent video, you make it look easy 👌I'm waiting for my Arrow to arrive so I can start chasing the birds

      It's easy, just need some practice. Do it! Go out with the antenna and the radio in advance, wait for the bird... Enjoy! Good luck!

    Fun stuff. I got my ham tech license just so I can make satellite contacts. Looking forward to start playing with one of these antennas.

      Congrats Joe for the Tech! I will make a video soon on the ELK antenna as well, so you will have more reference to compare. Hope to hear you on the birds and welcome to the club! 73!

    Thanks for the demo. Been listening to Sats with rubber duck. I have an Arrow Antenna on order. Can't wait for it to arrive! Super video. de KE4GTQ

      Oh yeah, you will see the difference between the rubber duck and the Arrow in the first second 😉 Good luck and thank you for your feedback. 73!

    Hi Tamir,
    Fine demo. Would using a digital voice recorder to record the audio from the handheld help with not having to log the contacts on paper during the satellite pass? 73 WB3BJU

    Great video! Which arrow antenna is that? Also, did you add an additional piece of metal to the antenna? The part that you are holding.

    • @reHamRadio
      @reHamRadio  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Allan, this the Arrow 146/437-10WBP. It's the back pack - two-piece boom - split boom version. It's really recommend. And yes, I added a piece of Aluminum, to extend the handle, as it's much easier to hold it this way. Thanks for your feedback, 73!

    Nice video. I can easily get into SO-50, and AO-91 with an arrow antenna and HT. But I can never get into AO-92 with the same setup. Not sure why.

      Thanks for your feedback.
      Based on what you wrote, that all your setup is working fine, at this point I would double check the frequencies that you are using for RX and TX for AO-92, that they are correct and not switched by mistake. 73.

    Howdy Tamir,
    Very nice demo. I just wonder how the 3 beam tape measure yagi would preform? Have you made one yet?

    • @reHamRadio
      @reHamRadio  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I made one and in the satellite video I even show it as an example for a home made antenna. Thanks for your feedbacks. 73.

    You should just listen to the recording to get the callsign so that you do not tie up the SAT.

      You are right Benjamin, I agree. That was long time ago. Today I'm using the recording feature of the radio for that. Much easier. Thank for your feedback, 73.

    Cool demo of using ham radio with satellites. How do you know where and when to move your antenna?

    • @reHamRadio
      @reHamRadio  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's all based on software. Can be used on your computer or as an app on your phone. A special video on that will be available soon.

    Does Arrow Antenna sell the tripod that the antenna is on? If not, can you suggest a supplier?

    • @reHamRadio
      @reHamRadio  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Robert, there is no option to purchase the Arrow with a tripod. But you don't need to. You can find lots of options online, and even cheap.
      Try to check on Amazon for "AmazonBasics 60-Inch Lightweight Tripod with Bag", it's about $26. I have few tripods and some of them I bought as 2nd hand from local neighbors for $5!
      The only thing that you want to check when you buy it, is that the tripod will have the "tilt" feature, as this will help you with changing the antenna polarity.
      Please let me know if you have any other questions. 73!

    What handheld?

    • @reHamRadio
      @reHamRadio  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The one that you saw in the video is the TDXone td-q8a. But you can find others, similar with functions like the Baofeng. All these handheld family can be found in the range of $30 to $60.

    its unfair that others are using 50W to hit the sat.. 5w is nothing.

    • @reHamRadio
      @reHamRadio  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I can agree with that, especially, as there is actually no need for that. You can see that I'm using a handheld transciever without any problem, until someone is transmitting together with me. But, it's a hobby, I'm taking that as fun. Btw, on linear satellites, you must limit your power as it can affect the way that the satellite is sharing the transmitting power over the whole band. Thanks for your feedback, 73.
