As a bloke that took 4 hours to get my car up on jack stands with enough clearance to do an oil and filter change, its awesome to see how fast a pro can get the front of his engine off 👍 deffo no fornication with arachnids
If you are running a Gen 3 or 4 LS. There is an oil passage barbell you should swap out if you haven't. In racing apps like your. This little part can be a pain in the ass, and cause all kinds of oiling issues.
Dropping a bolt into the bumper 20sec after Gian says "this whole thing's staged" is perfect 😆 You're saying you can't afford to put a JZ in, but y'know you already have the one in the crown, just a little build..
Seems to be a more common thing then it used to be on aftermarket pumps. I havent tried a better spring in a gm pump but i have shimmed one and ported a little of the poor inlet and outlet casting on them and had success. Good luck this time round 👍
Wow 25w60 for an ls! Those guys are keen. They must widen the bearing clearance a lot when they rebuild them. Because all it does it make it slower for oil to return to the sump so it can't Cool as well in the driving your doing in the video.
@@BennysCustomWorks I wrote that as soon as you poured. There's a blog that does oil testing but starts off with an essay on oil viscosity and it's made me rethink oil thickness even on old motors if they are fresh.
I keep saying I'll take my car to Pheasant Wood circuit but haven't got there yet. Maybe a Winter thing. How does it compare to something like Luddenham which I have done a few times.
I was sure I spotted a UK registration plate on that mercedes then there's definitely one on that Range Rover inside. So confusing why are there UK registered cars in Australia 😂
Hey Benny I’m probably going to tell you shit you know.. But a lot of drift guys will use an “accusump” for constant oil pressure… one guy’s had the same engine 4 years.. I personally have an LS in a e36 For street but I just use a high volume oil pump and over fill it a bit 😉 she’s all good! Goodluck you’ll get it man,you know what’s up! 👍
When you throw it back in bolt in an oil pick up tube girdle. Helps support the tube when bashing it around a track. I might have a spare I can send to you
@@BennysCustomWorks im no expert but id remove that spring unless you have clearances to suit. Stock pump is enough but cavitates at high RPM which your accusump should be able to compensate for, an extra volume pump might be a better choice. As demonstrated, it's compulsory for a bloke finished tensioning a ratchet strap to say "That's not going anywhere".
You don't have to do the Twang test. But if you don't, it might go somewhere. You don't want to risk it.
Glad to hear you didn't frag another engine :D

I’m starting to think this may be the issue tbh.
It’s a gen 4 6.0 L98
Thanks for the video.
Your Lexus is trying to tell you it does not want anything but a JDM engine inside of it.
That oil looked really clean, I think you might have lucked out. I hope you get it sorted soon.

strange seeing the discovery from the uk in the shop, probably as you cant insure them in the uk currently lol
I reckon your bang on with the relief valve, have had many in the past do the same. Stock pumps and mellings pumps
Yeah this was a melling. I’ve gone back to a GM pump and a higher pressure return spring for this go around

Yeah I got too ambitious. Will be revising the oil choice for next time

Certainly not as bad as it could have been! Hope it really just is that valve.

THATS WHAT SHE SAID!...
Hope you sort it without to much cost or hassle
Does running thicker engine oil put strain on the oil pump?
Poor Man’s Motorsport has a pickup tube with a 2-bolt flange that seals real nice

I also wondered about this, I assume they're imports but why a disco 4 🤷🏻♂️
Oooooo I see a discovery from the Uk

I’ll be watching..
Hopefully a fresh pump and o-ring will do it!…

Have you got the oil pick up bracket that makes it so you have 2 bolts holding the pick up in?
Yes, i’m swapping it out for another one however.

Just get rid of the LS. You clearly don't appreciate it.
I appreciate it when it works but they aren’t the magic fix all the internet raves on about in my experience.
