While converting the barn into a workshop, we encountered a big problem with removing the old foundation columns. There was no other way but to make the right tool 😁
It was a quick and simple project. If you have a welder, drill, angle grinder and a little imagination, you will definitely do something like this in your own workshop.
The winch I used is good, but could be a little more powerful.
The legs of this "tripod" are made of a 40x40x2mm square tube and it is perfectly sufficient.
The whole thing weighs about 20 kg, so it can be easily carried.

Nice job! Only suggestion I have is, after you lifted the concrete post out of the hole, slide a piece of plywood over the top of the hole to make it easier to roll the dolly in and out.

This is a nice little tripod hoist though and it's fun to build neat stuff.

I don't know if you design your tools out of necessity or just for you tube fun, or what, but your designs are amazing. If someone didn't want to pay the cost of a backhoe or professional removal that tool could do concrete, tree stumps, or anything else that needed removal. One idea, heavy duty casters so in case you wanted to lift something then roll the tool across concrete or pavement

Nice idea, for those without a lathe, you could just use 4 bearings instead of 2 and skip the tube, also you could have just bought a boat winch for the same price as the cable winch and you wouldn't have had to modify it

And keep eye on the scrap bins in your area. Got three of those boat winches last summer. One had sheared crank that was fixed with little weld tap and another had gears broken and third had damaged winch line. Combining the 3 got me 2 working ones and parts for something else with hour of tinkering. Given those are like 30€ a pop it was time well spent.

Very interesting. Done different variations of that using a farmer's jack. 2 problems with the shown design:
    - the legs will dig into the ground (dirt is not always hard). That can be resolved by using pieces of wood under the 3 legs.
    - the anchor driven in the concrete will not always hold strong enough. Not all concrete post foundations are solid blocks. In fact most have wood in the middle (where the fence post was). Sudden release and whiplash will be dangerous. A better version is to expose more of the concrete and wrap with the belt around it. Not much more work and no metal parts that can fly.
