Maybe you can consider changing your testing rig. At 4:08 mark you can see that the middle phone is moving a lot compared to the outside phones. This makes the video output very different.
It's really happy to see that the 13 ultra is still performing great. I'm using the 13 Ultra and I'm really happy with it. The 14 Ultra is expensive at the moment. We'll check it out in the future. Thank you Sami, it was a nice review.
Yeah same for me. The 13 Ultra 1TB model was 1700 for me shipped to Australia. The 14 Ultra has bumped up the price to 2100 so a good 400 more....... Still tossing up and just waiting on reviews at the moment. Not enough reviews out yet 😉
Me too, I'm happy that my 13U is still relevant, and even better in some cases (esp stabilization). Like I feel there would be emotional damage because 13U is also expensive and it hasn't been a year since I bought this 🤣

Thanks for fast & deep comparison as usual! Sami Random shots comparison is must too but Proper test for still photos should be in Pro mode for all. Same aperture , Same ISO , Same shuter speed. That shows which one is better for still photos.
3:17 The lenses on the 14 Ultra are the real stars of the show! Look at that focus transition- there is "no focus breathing" which is why the transition looks so smooth!
Thank you very much Sami for your valuable test. I watch all your videos and I am grateful for your work. About 14 Ultras: I am disappointed with the specifications of the 14 Ultra camera. I bought last summer and have been using the 13 Ultra ever since, which I love. I mainly photograph properties and buildings inside and out, so for me the ultra wide camera is the most important. I see the same sensor in this respect, whether it is better than the 13 Ultra I cannot judge. I also often use the 3, and 5 zoom cameras. I use the main camera the least. If I hadn't already bought the 13 Ultra, I would have bought a 14 Ultra, but now I am not at all convinced that it is worth the trade-off for me.
I ordered the 14 ultra, but my recent phone is Oneplus 7T so it will be a huge upgrade for me. If I had the 13 Ultra I wouldn't upgrade at all. Very small difference between the two and since I edit my photos anyways no gain would be with the 14 Ultra for me.
Probably needs another update. The 3.2x in video mode has a different contrast and colour level. Is it true we have now buttons for zooming instead of a slider in video on the 14U? That would be a lot better.

Exactly.I can't believe this is the 14U I have been seeing on Chinese blogs.I think it's premature for the comparisons.Maybe the global version is better for the test at the moment There's no little to no background blur on the 35mm and 50mm. Shocking!

And I'm also glad to see that the zoom capability of the 14 Ultra has also been greatly improved! I think it might even perform better than the Galaxy S24 Ultra! The 13U and 14U i think have the same ultrawide and telephoto sensors so the big upgrade would just be on the main cam. Is it worth the upgrade when you already own a 13U? I would wait for the 15U
They have the same sensors on other three lens and the main is 1 inch too. So don´t expect difference in quality of photos, there won´t be. Everything is about sensor size. I have apsc camera from 2016 and there is almost no difference in image quality with same size new sensors in newer cameras. Here you have same sensor size and the newer sensor is not so much different. What they done here is I think they tweaked camera algorithms a little bit, that is all they can do with the same setup. I will be buying new phone only if the main sensor will be quite larger or all sensors will be 1 inch on all cameras. Because the small ones are good during the day but not so good at night. If you want even better ictures from 13 ultra use GCAM. There is step up in guality.

Happy I have ordered the 14 ultra (after the 13 ultra didnt release in europe) its very expensive but I really like the camera's allready!! Only thing is they start shipping 19th of March... So i have to wait for a while
I was so torn between getting the 13U and the 14U... for the same price as the 14U 256gb i can get the 13U 512GB and the photography kit.. and because there isnt too much difference between the phones from what it seems, i think ill go for the 13U
Thanks for asking, my friend. I think there isn't a single phone that surpasses all others in camera performance. For example, Oppo has the best photo color that I like, while no other phone can compete with iPhone's video performance. Vivo, on the other hand, has an overall impressive performance, etc. You can watch more real comparisons and choose the one you like!
In the zoom tests, did you center the object you were focusing on? It's weird that the 14 ultra had the worst performance during day time but the best at night time. This could be explained by edge lens performance vs the center of the lens (which is the part that generally offers the best sharpness. the 14pro has horrible results and some good results which could also be explained by that. Also! thank you for putting in the effort doing these tests.
6:01 try covering your face with your hand and you will see the sky! this is a big problem with Xiaomi front cameras which automatically overexpose the sky in the background in the presence of a face... so it's just something xiaomi wanted via software which concentrates everything on the person's face to the detriment of the remaining sky background overexposed
Thanks tor the video comparison. You are always super fast! 14 Ultra has improved on colour science, skin tones look more natural now and not so yellowish. But to me after this video, the upgrade does not seem worth it. Screen if Ultra 14 only 3000nits... Not too important, but it kind of feels like its missing something? What do you think?

ok ... but again, I don't know when xiaomi will realize that a selfie camera with limited focus will never give good results like with autofocus ... for such an expensive phone ... they could have put a better camera with autofocus , I like the rest but many people take selfies ... no one turns the phone from the back to get a better picture or they have to ... then the selfie camera is less usable for more demanding photos
In front camera, the 4k 60fps is a great addition but for users who do not use much the front camera for video recording, 1080p is more than enough.. so the real comparison now lies with the main camera system which is the 1'" sensor on both phones. However, after looking at some youtube reviewers comparing the 13 ultra to 14 ultra, it is a conclusion that there is no real big of a difference in terms of image quality on both phones and if there are differences such as in sharpness, a regular user wont be able to notice it unless theyre fond of pixel peeping so the 14 ultra very much like the 13 ultra with small upgrades here and there but that doesnt justify the higher price tag. If you have the 13 ultra, congrats, stick with it for 3 to 4 years from this year. The 14 ultra is for users who dont have yet the 13 ultra and can shell out more money or someone who doesnt like the vivo x100 pro which is a better phone versus the 13 ultra or the 14 ultra but priced a bit lower plus the OS isn't known to be buggy or glitchy as compared to xiaomi's OS.

Definitely. The frame stays absolutely consistent when the focus is shifting. Haven't seen it this stable on a smartphone yet.

Bought the 13 ultra and the video quality was beyond horrible. Hopefully it's fixed in the 14
