    Great clutchless upshifts - even better clutchless downshifts! Just brilliant.

    Awsome! The T-70 coupe has always been one of my absolute favorit cars. So beautiful, powerful, and the sound it makes! A true icon!

      Lucky you, I had a T160 that was cool but never a T70 of any sort. Almost as good looking as a 330P4.

    Awesome! Love the historic racing at Road America, I never miss an event! Thank you, sir, for keeping these wonderful machines alive and on track!

    Loads of fun. Nicely done. Great car, of course. And those little Lotuses really move, too! It's interesting. The Lotuses are much earlier designs with much less horsepower.

    Thanks for posting. This car looks intense! Quicker than everything on the straights it looked like. I will be on the track next weekend so am watching to learn the track.

      @Dennis Young 8000 is close. The Vintage race Ford 302s in late 60s Mustangs redline at 8400 RPMS/ 540 H.P. according to one GT350 owner I talked to at Road America.
      This vintage racers have considerably more power today than they did in the 1960s, but are still stuck with 60s brakes and tires per the rule book. Note the sound in this video. I recommend hearing protection.

      Junior Johnson was winding the Yunick tuned 302s to 7500rpm all day. Dual quads on a crossram 302! The hp had to have been close to 600.

    Thanks for the narration; it`s one thing to get coaching, but quite another to be in the mind of a Pro and hear how each marker is sized up. As cool weather is back in Florida, if you guys get back down to Sebring I would be curious to hear how you sort through that track with traffic. Great upload!..sound is awesome

    Beautiful driving sir. I could watch with that foot cam all day. Would really love to see a POV view of the wheel from your helmet or chest but this is honestly driving nirvana for me

    • @JimPaceMotorsports
      @JimPaceMotorsports  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching. Camera placement is challenging in the T70 Coupe as the rear bulkhead is so close to the seat back. My personal choice is to see what the driver is doing in the car...hands, feet, shifting...but the opportunity to driver this car came about last minute and choices were limited. The foot car is always interesting. Great vintage Lola T70!

    • @JimPaceMotorsports
      @JimPaceMotorsports  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching. All these cars are a joy to drive for various reasons but my personal preference is the feeling of an OPEN car. I love the Porsche 962 and the Lola T70 coupes but an open car has an added sense of exhilaration.

    why you don't need the clutch?

    • @dmdivers
      @dmdivers 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The gearbox has dog engagement - like motorcycle gearboxes. You don't need to use the clutch, just quickly lift off the throttle whilst changing up the gears. Same changing down the gears, but you have to be quick to time everything, gearshift, brake, blip throttle.
