I am a driver on that route, and in terms of scenery, track layout, and signalling, DTG did get pretty close to reality. I had lots of fun on the route when it came out, and I still play it from time to time, even tho I see it at work several times per week. Of course, you can see that the route is from the early days of TSW, and the timetable used was already outdated at first release(being from the early-mid 2000s). But I can also understand why they made that choice, with the 4th gen Dostos being easily reusable for other routes. Nowadays, the route is mainly operated by 2 and 3 car Flirt 1 EMUs as RE 16 to Iserlohn (arriving in Hagen from Essen and replacing the RB 56 between Hagen and Iserlohn) and RB 91 to Siegen, 3 car Flirt 3 XL units as RE34 to Siegen (replacing the RE16 between Iserlohn and Siegen) and IC2 trainsets with the BR 147.5 (which I drive) on the intercity route Münster - Siegen - Frankfurt, with the intercity replacing the RE34 every 2 hours, except for when they don't.
I find it quite scenic too. The service with the 143 and the single Dosto is the RB service to Iserlohn, which nowadays would be EMU run. It is an interesting quirk nontheless.
RSN was my first route and I fell in love with the 363 and shunting ever since. Matt has made a great freight timetable for the route and with the layers and repaints that still worked fine in TSW3 it was great to see all the creators club trains pass by. even in the old lighting the route still looks great. I do wish for it to have a timetable update one day so hagen isn't so deserted. and maybe like TSC have it continue to Siegen.
More than any other route, I do suggest you take your time on foot around this one, it has a surprising amount of accessible paths (even a roof!) next to the tracks with some that provide for great viewing points. Most often they'll be indicated by a brown dirt path, sometimes they lead above tunnels or hills! Also, sad about no mentions of the plant in Elverlingsen in the video, that is accessible despite no services at all to it (double shame, it's even in the main promo image ingame...)
8:04 From my exprerience you need to wait a minute or two between releasing the train brake and enabling the throttle when starting, so that the brakes on the wagons have time to release. Also thanks for the other vids. They are, I think, great customer advice when I'm looking for the next DLC to purchase.
When I was about nine, I got TSW 2020 for my birthday. The first route I played was this one. It’s funny to think that this route is the. Reason I still buy TSW every year.
Still one of the best german route in tsw in my opinion. This route, especially during fog, has an amazing atmosphere. It's hard for me to specify what exactly it is about and translate it from Polish to English. In Poland, if you say that something has an KLIMAT , everyone knows what you mean. The review lacked some broader discussion of the route, perhaps a comparison to other routes. I give this review a score of 3 out of 5. Best regards. And thanks for Your hard work😀
8:04 just wondering if you released the parking brake which is located behind the drivers seat, because sometimes you have to release it separately before starting to accelerate. Nice video anyways!
These older German routes really need a basic timetable update to add services and AI with other German stock that release later. There should be IC, ICE and S-Bahn services at least as AI on most of these routes like RSN, MSB etc.
It really gets on my nerves that even on newer routes the wrong pantograph is always preselected when the control car is in front. So far it has only been correct with the Karlsruher Kopf cab car and the BR 110.3. Even on the newest German route, with the BR 114 and 146 it's still wrong. Added to this are the still bad sounds of the locomotives. Dovetail products are always a disappointment for me. I won't be getting any more in the future I think. The new route from Just Trains is coming soon and hopefully you will support this developer more by purchasing it directly from the website. If there weren't a TSW 5 Starter Pack, I wouldn't have been able to enjoy the Blackpool Branches route at all. Or not the Bernina line from Rivet Games. Maybe you should give her a chance, even if she got cut off at a stupid point. She still looks really beautiful. No comparison to the ugly Arosa Line. Maybe it's worth buying with a 50% discount or less. I skipped TSW 4 because of Dovetails stupid "pay for fixes with our every year new version" politic. When they really fix some bugs... I was surprised that Rivet really fixed some bugs on the Island Line 2022 but why I had to get a new TSW version for that? Anyway thanks for your reviews. I also hope Dovetail will not mess up the upcoming Dutch route but I don't have high hopes. Greetings from Germany. The country of perfectionism and criticism. That's why I really like your reviews and have watched a lot of them over the last few days.

Great review bro. RSN was my first ever train sim route.
Same here!

Not sure if that 377 hitting an overground service was necessary 😂😂😂

9:08 I think it's due to they haven't received any diesel locomotive before, those are usually use by BR 642 from Maintalbahn

Was definitely one of the routes I cut my teeth on for German trains

Well done and interesting. Keep em comin.
Wow! Youre pumping out very good content
funny... same thought just crossed my mind😉
I'll be taking a break from uploading for at least five days. I'm going on holiday again.
Is this route or Tharandter Rampe better?
