Sure, I could have just crashed the 1000 times, got a payout but crashes hurt sometimes. @ I used to be in a VW club and participated in many motorkhanas. Spinning Beetles would not roll over unless you "tripped" on an obstacle such as a kerb or hit a bump that on the early models caused a rear wheel to tuck under. I drove one these swing axle VWs for years without rolling it. It did require extra care in the wet and on gravel to stop it spinning but all it would do was a 180 if it did. I drove a Polo for 10 years, one that was a contemporary of the New Beetle and I have no idea what how ham-fisted you would have to be to make it spin. A handbrake turn maybe?
@@Bliff86 im roughly 1000% sure that whole situation was most fundamentally caused by ancient balding tyres and exacerbated by panicked application of the throttle instead of brakes, absolutely what you said is true but in a FWD like that its not super easy to make that happen without a complete lack of grip and brakes. they looked slow enough to just stop if they braked, and like @davidcarter4247 said if anything it should have come right around. No arguments from me. As one of those people who was wiped out on my mc by a speeding/running red light driver who hit and ran, ensuring I spent 14 years in court, over 30 major surgeries over the years trying to recover (delays due to insurances denying accountability due to ‘lack of evidence’ because it was a hit and run ergo nobody taking responsibility resulted in many years of suffering fighting to get medical surgical care/repair), I absolutely support this kind of accountability for those who fuck lives like mine.

I might be able explain. The M7 motorway in Sydney is being expanded from two lanes into three to accommodate the 2nd Sydney airport. It might not be clear in the videos but you can see where the “old” lane markings were in black, which has been painted over but it doesn’t match the tarmac colour so I suppose these people have gotten confused between which lane markings to follow. Some markings are pretty dodgy/confusing to be fair.
Sometimes when they grind off the road markings it can actually appear as though they're still there. A front engine, front wheel drive New Beetle spinning out like a rear-engine , rear wheel drive old Beetle - that is a true nostalgia car.
If it was the old model it would have rolled as well.
there problem was speed. they went into the turn to fast and used the brake while turning, it will make you oversteer 100% of the time and there attempt to counter it stuck them in the trees. dont drive fast when cornering. trust me im a qualified youtube commenter
9:23 how on earth does this happen twice?
I might be able explain. The M7 motorway in Sydney is being expanded from two lanes into three to accommodate the 2nd Sydney airport. It might not be clear in the videos but you can see where the “old” lane markings were in black, which has been painted over but it doesn’t match the tarmac colour so I suppose these people have gotten confused between which lane markings to follow. Some markings are pretty dodgy/confusing to be fair.
Sometimes when they grind off the road markings it can actually appear as though they're still there. Driver lapse in concentration, couple that with glare from the sun, a dirty windscreen, lots of scenarios where it can happen. That's a terrible temporary road design. If you've got the sun in your eyes, there's no way you could see that yellow barrier. It sound silly but it happens all the time.

VERY lucky. There was a case in, I think Russia maybe, where a similar thing happened and apparently the object cleaved straight through one of the front seat occupant's heads, vertically.
The thought still gives me chills.
@@misssummersalt That was the first video that came to mind it still makes me sick and those screams will stick with me forever, The driver here is so lucky and this will stick with him for the rest of his life, terrifying and insane
@mazwa2007 was a rock stuck between the duals, dislodged and then shot out and up, bloke was lucky, it missed his head by about an inch when it punched through the windscreen, landed in the back seat
All I know is they aren't going to Jamberoo anymore
9:10 "is my car ok"
"We're alright" 😂
Its all looking like no one is going to jambaroo anymore

Did that hilux pop out of another dimension?
Where’d he come from lol 😅
I think he turned from the street before
@ that’s got to be a black spot then. Bet there’s been a few crashes there
@@MrBrenos I weouldn't have crashed like that. I would wait till the 4WD goes to make sure it is clear. I can say that with confidence because I have been in that situation and elected to wait till I had a clear view.
@@anotheruserism what’s your plan if they think the same and wait for you to go?
@@IslacrusezThey'd both still be there waiting
