- Hope you enjoy this film the trip was quite spontaneous with hardly any planning or training, hence i got lost a lot, bike cost £250 pounds off gumtree, ride turned into a great little adventure hope film is not to boring to watch.

Just found this little gem. What an inspirational little film. So nice to see someone just having an adventure and not worried about breaking records or A to B speeds.
I am 69 with a heart condition. I have cycled everyday nearly in my life. After seeing this I am going to do it. Many thanks
Just brilliant, dangerously recklessly bloody brilliant. I wish I had a fraction of your fortitude and spirit. I’ve walked and bothered in the highlands and it can be very daunting. Bloody well done chap. 👏
A nice change to the manic LEJOG vids that are done in 8-10 days, looking to do this in 2020 at 52 year old and aiming for 50-60 miles a day, self supported camping. Should be fun.

I have watched many of the LE/JoG videos on YT but this one is by far has been the most enjoyable, interesting and inspirational one. Total respect and admiration for your achievement Jon, and for the spirit of the whole trip. The video is beautifully edited and I just love the soundtrack..great stuff!!

that was one of the best lands ens to john o groats films ive watched and iam glade its just not me that gets lost thanks for posting and well done for having the balls to camp where you like under the circumstances .hopefully if allowed iam cycling from devon to noth wales in june its only 300 miles but well exited to do it,regards paul.

Man you had me in suspense during the bad gravel road areas. I thought you would give up! (Many would!) You seem to have a carefree casual attitude about it all and that's inspiring. I'm sure you yelled and screamed a lot though! Haha! And to think you did all that on a cheap used bicycle. Most people wouldn't even attempt something like that unless they had at least a 2000 quid bike and hotel along the route. Seems like you had fun and proves that if you have the will there's always a way!
I really enjoyed watching this. Well done. Very brave to go off road in the wilds of Scotland. You're a true adventurer. Did this trip myself tother way in 2001. But I took the soft option of B&Bs. Journey of a lifetime, you'll never forget it.

A great vid, thanks. Oh, and that Hunter’s Lodge is a Bothy, you knew that right? There’s no ‘K’ in Loch either. Your map reading skills are dangerously hopeless, but you knew that too? You seem to have dived headlong into this trip, regardless. I love it! The Adventure starts when you take a wrong turn, or some unforeseen occurrence comes along I don’t want to sound too Cheesey but your trip is inspirational! Once again, thank you.
Great video - cycled and camped all my life (On and off) and I am itching to try this cycle touring thing. It's only taken me 55 years to get round to it! Overweight with dodgy knees and creaking other bits - I'm determined to do as much of it as I can while I still can.

Ha ha, lovely little insight into how a bike ride SHOULD be. Getting lost, who cares? Hilarious, your trip looks so much more fun than those head down, see nothing trips we are used to on TH-cam. You have a great attitude and I enjoyed the video, thank you for sharing. p.s. anyone tell you that you are the spit of Quint in Jaws (Robert Shaw), albeit you are a little leaner :)
