I bet he’s still finding glitter on his body currently
😂 You made my day
Omg😂😂😂
Hahaha 😂😂❤️
i AM finding them
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
There couldn’t be any video better at expressing the dilemma of getting attention due to nationality and yet sometimes wanting to escape from that identity that sticks on you, making people only see you as a stereotype of your nation, ignoring what’s deeper inside.
Gerçekten öyle bir süre sonra ne olursan ol ne yaparsan yap o etiketten kurtulamıyorsun ve sadece o oluyorsun insanların gözünde
Like being seen as the shiny thing everybody wants to touch simply because of who you are and never what you've done. Pretty soon you begin to feel as though you've never done anything worth more than your race or your parents or grandparents and the odyssey found within it by outsiders.
this comment becomes even better if you read the one right below yours.
That is also happening right now with people that have caucasian skin, but are of different decent/ethnicity. They are all being labeled as just “ white” people, even though people from Italy identify as Italian, people from France ad French, German, Danish, Dutch, Spanish, Greek etc . Peoples cultural identity is being taken away and being homogenized as “ white” by the way they appear. Which is absolutely insane. And couldn’t be more false.
I've never fell in love with songs as quickly as I fell for yours, but my faves are still indigo night and habibi, they have an arabic vibe that makes them unique and suits your voice perfectly.
1marshmallowcloud he became in one song one of my favorite artists. His debut is incredible.
Only know of his music for two days, and they are my favourites too
@@minktrappingpaddy because of lana?
@@Rothnacum1 My other half was at Lana's gig, and saw him there. She told me how good he was, so I checked his stuff out. Hooked!
I feel the same way. Yesterday I saw his tiny desk and today I bought concert tickets and booked a three-hour bus trip to New York to see him play. I've literally listened to nothing else since I heard him
He is the grandson of the great Egyptian singer Mehrim Fouad, he definetly inherited his talent.
It's muharram fouad
@@inesxxistent Yeah, sorry misspelling
Is he gay? No offense, but he really makes me think of the excellent singer Freddie Mercury, and I really doubt thata straight man can create a sublime piece of art like this😂
@@lucastan1458 No idea, I have been wondering too
道小天2018 because he did this masterpiece it doesn’t make him gay !
This is such a comforting song for anyone who's ever struggled with being idolized or put on a pedestal. The depth of emotion and wit in his lyricism always gets to me.
Guys real lyrcis
[Verse 1]
I'm no longer found
Bugs got all my yummy
Passed out in the yard
Spiders on my tummy
[Verse 2]
I'm no longer found
Sex got all my pride
I'm no longer found
[Pre-Chorus]
Passed out in the yard of angels
Disabled
I saw someone change the labels
I've seen it
I saw someone change the meaning
[Chorus]
Once we were lost
Like we almost
Like we almost, were in love
Can't you help it, thinking of me?
Think you love me
It's like you must, like you almost, like you almost
Have a lust
For making something of me, something of me
[Verse 3]
Being so profound
These shoes got all my boogie
Crawling in the yard
Acid went right for me
[Verse 4]
I'm no longer found
Love got all my dime
I'm no longer found
[Pre-Chorus]
Flying in the sky like cupid
Hypocrite
I saw someone change their habits
I've seen it
A sudden change of spirit
[Chorus]
Once we were lost
Like we almost
Like we almost, were in love
Can't you help it, thinking of me?
Think you love me
It's like you must, like you almost, like you almost
Have a lust
For making something of me, something of me
[Chorus-Outro]
Lost, like we almost
Like we almost, were in love
Well it made something
Something of me, something of me
thank
I honestly don't think I understand the song's meaning at all so forgive me if I got it all wrong, but it feels really obvious that this video is about how he feels trapped in this persistent, Western ideation of what Egyptian or even just the Arab diaspora can provide for the European gaze in music, hence the pharaonic motifs and then sense that he can't escape the expectations of providing that "Egyptian" influence and exists in limbo between the two identities(Belgium/English influences versus Egyptian/Arab), and instead make peace with their coexistence? Anyone else have thoughts on this?
I do too think he's trying to deal with his cultural identity and also the image that he, as an artist, and his music projects to the world. I haven't paid so much attention to the lyrics and their meanings, but at least the video really makes me think he's trying to sublimate or clear his internal relationship with his inheritance.
he explained the song meaning in interview it's about you can't change who you are
That's an interesting analysis. For me I've always perceived this song as a sort of love story.
I agree...I also think that people fetishise him by his "exotic" heritage and his looks....I often see in the comments of his videos people always point out that he looks like a greek statue, like a egyptian god, like "something" mediterranean, exotic, etc....maybe something like that has to do with this video
kol634 I can see that now that you’ve mentioned it. It seems as though he fought to not be remembered only in the shadow of his famous Egyptian grandfather (the pharaonic references); thought he succeeded at the end of the day(wiping the golden paint off), only for it to reappear again in the morning.
I think this video represents being famous or being different outside and the inside. One hour ago you're on a big stage giving concerts to giant crowds and then you're going home and it's just you and your inner self. You show people things that you want to show and some just don't want to be shown or known.
as mentioned in Johari window actually which his songs have an impact on me to find out my inner self when i am on my own.
Wait hold up look at the kid at 0:37. He’s got a piercing like Taminos and the Egyptian statue Tamino portrays gives him a nod. Is this meant to parallel the legacy Tamino has been given since he’s the grandson of the Sound of the Nile?
I like this interpretation. Makes sense to me. Plus, that kid is his actual brother :))
Actually that kid is not his real brother. His real borther is Ramy
Oh really ? :o
@@lumos1112 he has three brothers but idk if that boy is one of them.
@@lumos1112 he is Tamino’s real brother Elijah
this song makes me feel sad and happy at the same time wtf - your best song imo
Praying for Tamino s comeback this year

I’m praying he finally collabs with Hozier
Damn he has to go through this every single day of his life...

So hear me out... Im a metalhead, Tamino is basically the only pop artist i listen to. His music really touches me, and this song in particular is really helping me get my feelings out during my rough time and a breakup at this moment.
Indie not pop
I can't get over his voice and I keep reading those beautiful lyrics over and over again. It's like a combination of a soothing melody, poetry, and arabic vibes that meet in a perfect osmosis. I may have found my favorite artist out there
I mean I had a tough day at school today and I feel lost. I came back home first thing I do is listen to Tamino
He really knows how to ease the struggle of everything because he understands. I feel like I'm found listening to him
Omg I don't know where else I'd be
I love his melodic voice, it's so soothing and the lyrics just make it even better. he's such a great poet
amazing vocalist and visualist, in awe of this man honestly. he’s gonna go so far
Your songs take me to a place where I know I've never been before, but it still feels familiar in some way. It's like I see all of these images in my head, people's faces fading away, and I feel very nostalgic as well. It's not a bad nostalgia, though. Almost like a happy sadness. Your music is healing, almost like a hug. I hope I can listen to it live someday :')
wow you just explained all my feelings amazing
Same!! Also is that hobi I see? 👀👀
i adore this song but i think the video gave a whole other depth of meaning to it. tamino is absolutely a gem.
“I’ve seen someone change their habits, I’ve seen it, a sudden change in spirit.” -Tamino
as always great! this man is not just a singer, he is a MAN OF ART who surprises me from the beginning ...
such a pure soul, such a deep person ...
at 3:17 he looks like the painting “Demon Seated” by Mikhail Vrubel 🎨
twiddleybits amazing observation, they’re identical
OH GOD I'M GLAD I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO NOTICED HOW SIMILAR THEY ARE
i remember watching Indigo night (this was the first Tamino's clip i've seen) and when i saw a scene where Tamino sits in the dark with blue face i just suddenly realized he looks like Vrubel's Demon and i was like "OH, FU-"
masha qwerty same archetype!
YES
Everytime i watch this video,i think about what represents to us and i think this video wants to explain to us the loneliness and feeling of being lost.Being someone that is a stranger to your personality. At the first scene of the video we see Tamino in a pharaoh costume and in the day routine he begins to being close to his real personality but than when he wakes up after the night he is in costume again. We always try to live how the other people want to see and Tamino sings in the song about being lost in one of the main sentences. That's what i think about this videoclip
he s an artist , not a singer , a true artists
coming back here to express my love for such talented young soul. we miss you tamino. hope you’re taking care of yourself, much love
you entered my life 30 minutes ago with this song. welcome. this is absolutely sublime.
Whyyyy it took me so long to find this singer and this song??? I heard it for the first time today I love it sooooooooo much!!! His voice is AMAZING!
This song and video make me nostalgic for 90's VH1 for some reason.

nah cause as a fellow egyptian this vid hits hardddddd like trying to escape the constant stereotyping only to realize you never truly can 😭😭 (i mean i know that’s one meaning of it, and i love that the vid has multiple meanings)
Are you a minilot of kokonera?
what ? you my friend are extremely underrated
