As a Braves fan after that epic series against the reds at their stadium I started to really respect the reds especially this man: Elly De La Cruz but when he hit that homer after Dave Martinez tried ruining his fun by accusing him of using an illegal bat was so satisfying.
This guy is a special player. I’m a Phillies fan but he’s caught my attention almost every day so far. Just instant impact with him and a lot of these young Reds players. Reds have a ton of good bats rn.
We didn’t use this brand for our high school team but we used something similar to it and it actually does a pretty good job at giving you instant feedback and analytics about your swing

I knew people that would wrap their bat to create a knob like that. It allows the knob comfortably sit in the palm of the hand, extending the bat a couple inches and increasing bat speed.
So then there should be no hate for sticky substances for pitchers as it is used for grip to not smash the batter in the face lol...he better grip means better movement but at least you should be comfy knowing its accurate lol

Using the sensor would have been illegal, but the sensor was not in the bat. De La Cruz likes the way the knob feels, and he got permission from the league to use it without the sensor in it. So in a way, both sides were right.
OK, I can see using that during batting practice or spring training but in the regular season? Whatever happened to using just hand/eye coordination, a little bit of prep work in terms of pitcher sequences and otherwise, one’s gut instinct? 🤷🏻♂️

Their shouldn't be any modifications allowed to a bat. It's being used for a better grip on the handle producing a better swing. It's advantage for him, something previous players never had. I don't see this lasting to long in MLB.

it is a recording/measuring device, and does not "improve" the swing/power of the bat......it's not corking, or any other illegal improvement of the bat itself
not sure why the electronics is illegal, doesn't make him see the ball better. unless they think it's an unfair adv. to compile the stats... in that case, do something about pitchers using illegal substances on their hands.
They made him take off the sensor but he like the way the non felt so he kept the rubber on and he tapped the knob to show how hard he hit to provoke the other team coach that was against him using the knob
Or to solve any problems just make them use certain bats a certain way period. Anything other than said certain bats nope. You will never have this issue ever again.
